This show sees kids take control of planning their parents' wedding.

They're responsible for organising

one of the biggest days of their parents' life.

'On today's show, a pair of wedding planners who are going outdoors

The moment of truth has arrived. Ssh!

-That's not for me, is it?

-I'm afraid it is.

My worst fear would be having to abseil down a sheer rock face.

-Just do it.

-Mum and Dad know they're getting married,

but they won't know a thing about the plans until the day itself.

They're hoping to organise the best wedding ever.

We're in Lancaster with a brother and sister

who can't wait to get started.

They've got three weeks to do everything.

Meet Bobby and Flo Horton.

Hi! That's my brother, Bobby. He's ten.

This is my sister, Flo. She's eight years old.

-BOTH:

-We love the outdoors and adventure.

Bobby and Flo live at home with mum Sue and dad Dave.

My mum's nice, really outdoorsy, and she's not very scared of much.

Dad, he really likes cycling.

When Mum and Dad are together, they make each other laugh a lot.

They've both got quite wild imaginations, haven't they?

Hello, me hearties! What are you doing down there?

They have lots of ideas of things they want to do, don't they?

Mum and Dad have been together for 20 years,

so why haven't they tied the knot so far?

Weddings tend to have a formula, they tend to be quite similar.

The standard wedding didn't really appeal to us.

If we're doing it, it has to be different.

It'll be a chance to have some fun and to be in charge,

and they've done lots of things for us, like cooking tea every day.

It means a lot to me to organise the wedding.

It's saying thank you for all the things they've done for us.

'This will be a wedding with a difference.

'Bobby and Flo will be in complete control.'

Most of their life, they've been bossed around by us,

and this is their chance to boss us around.

People have been saying, "Aren't you worried?," and "You're so brave."

'Your friends are right to be worried.

'When Bobby and Flo take over your big day, anything could happen.'

'It's about time our team were put in charge.'

Ladies and gentlemen,

we are gathered here today for some pretty serious business.

Do you, Mum, allow your children

to completely organise a wedding day you'll never forget?

With the handing over of the wedding planning book,

we now pronounce you officially, 100% in charge.

'Adults normally have ages to arrange weddings, but Bobby and Flo

-'have three weeks.'

-'We need to move quickly.

'First, we need a theme.'

-What's your theme idea?

-We like the great outdoors and ecoism.

-'An eco-friendly wedding? Hmm.'

-You're quite an outdoorsy family?

So, you've been on lots of holidays going outdoors?

We like going to lakes and swimming.

And then we climb mountains afterwards.

You think that's what Mum and Dad are going to like?

-You seem pretty set on that already.

-That's something we really want.

So, have you had any idea of where in the great outdoors?

Kind of the Lake District, I think.

-By a lake, with a pebbly beach and trees around.

-Sounds beautiful.

'The Lake District, some of Britain's best countryside,

'filled with lakes, mountains and...rain.

'It's one of the rainiest parts of the UK.

'We could be looking at a wet wedding.

'Let's hope the ideas work, rain or shine.' What's this?

My cake. It's a mountain, because we like climbing.

And Mum and Dad will be at the top on a bike, like a tandem,

and all our relatives on the path going up.

So, this is the dress you imagine your mum wearing.

-Where would you get it from?

-Charity shop?

-'Charity shops? Very eco-friendly.'

-What about your dad?

A big wig, a curly wig, like in that photo.

-He'd think it was really funny.

-'Will Dad really find that funny?'

It's possible that they could give us our nightmare wedding,

but that's part of the bargain we've entered into.

It's time to sort Mum and Dad's outfits,

and they've got to be green, so the kids want to source them

from local charity shops. Recycled wedding gear, so novel. I love it.

I just hope we can find something suitable.

'Wedding dresses are so important.

'Some brides go as far as getting one made.

'So, how will Mum feel about getting one that's pre-worn?'

-Do you like that?

-Yes.

-I quite like this.

-Too plain? Keep looking.

'This is taking longer than expected. It's getting desperate.'

Would she not look like a beautiful bride in this?

I wouldn't want to be in a huge, glittery, over-the-top

kind of meringue-type dress with puffy sleeves and all of that.

It looks nice, but it's very old-fashioned, I think.

Too old-fashioned.

'That's another no then.'

-A-ha! Now, this is promising.

-I like the golden pattern on it.

It's very pretty, isn't it? So, that would trail along behind her.

-That's amazing.

-'So, we've got Mum's wedding dress. Dad's turn now.

'Bobby and Flo want Dad dressed as a '70s hippy.

'They're looking for a mismatched outfit,

'and there's loads of possibilities.'

Are you thinking it could be for Dad?

-Yeah!

-Oh!

-This is the best for me, too.

-'And, of course, the wig.' Try it on.

-WOLF WHISTLE

-Yeah, I like this.

Right, we'll buy it. Good.

'So Dad's look is sorted, but will he be happy with it?'

The worst thing the kids could make me wear would be stiff, formal suits.

I'd rather wear a wetsuit.

'you might wish they HAD picked a wetsuit.'

-Yeah.

Right, let's go and buy it.

They've done really well, so everything's recycled,

we're bang on theme, got a wedding dress for £29.99.

'We've got a dress, shirt, tie, wig - great.'

'Don't worry, Ed, we'll sort it out later. Time's ticking.

'We're on to our next part of our wedding planning.

'What are the guests going to eat?'

We like climbing, so it's in the shape of the mountain.

'Bobby and Flo have got lots of ideas for the wedding cake.'

-Does it sound possible?

-Yes. I'll have a go.

'The cake maker's going to make a start,

'and we'll come back later to decorate it.'

'The kids are organising one of the biggest days

of their parents' lives.'

'They've chosen a great outdoors theme, recycled outfits,

'ordered a cake they designed themselves,

'and Mum and Dad don't have a clue.'

They're doing very well at keeping it hush-hush.

I never predicted they'd be so good at keeping secrets.

-Are you worried?

-I trust in their good intentions.

I'd like to be a fly on the wall.

'You won't have to wait long to find out. Just over a week.'

'And there's still so much to do.'

Next morning, the great-outdoors wedding planning continues.

It's a lovely, sunny morning here in the Lake District,

but I can't enjoy it - lots more planning to do.

'The kids know exactly what they want for the wedding venue.

'A lake with a pebbly beach.

'They're not the easiest thing to find,

'but I might have found just the place.'

So, what'll be different when your mum and dad get married?

I think people will know they're married.

At the moment, people ask us, "Are your mum and dad married?,"

or "When are your mum and dad getting married?"

When I say they're getting married, people think they already are.

That's because they've been together so long.

-Yeah.

-How many years

-have they been together?

-20.

-20 years!

'So, what do Bobby and Flo think about this venue?'

It's perfect.

-Really, really, really good.

-It's outdoors.

'Indeed. But that means there's no tables,

'no chairs and, worryingly, no roof,

'so fingers crossed for good weather on Mum and Dad's big day.'

We'll ask people to bring an umbrella.

Umbrella or a mac, essential, considering it hasn't got a roof.

'So, with the venue sorted, that's another tick.

'Now we know where Mum and Dad are getting married,

'it's time for Bobby and Flo to work out how they'll get here.'

-Bad luck, Flo, you're sitting next to me.

-I get seasick. You wanted an adventure.

-Yep.

This is pretty adventurous.

'Bobby and Flo want to make sure they give Mum and Dad a day to remember,

'and this could be the perfect way to transport them to their wedding.'

-What do you think of the boat?

-Not very eco-friendly.

What does this boat run on?

-Petrol.

-What sort of boat could we have that doesn't run on petrol?

My worst fear on the wedding day

would probably be something involving being very cold and wet,

like diving into a freezing cold lake. I don't like that.

'Canoes are cold and wet, guys.'

-Is there anything else adventurous we can do round here?

-Abseiling?

We've got a really good crag just over there, the Devil's Chimney.

The Devil's Chimney. Is it just me or does that sound really scary?

-Just you.

-Oh.

My worst fear on the day would be having to jump out of a plane

or a helicopter or have to abseil down a sheer rock face.

I probably couldn't do something like that.

'It seems Bobby and Flo can't resist getting their own back.'

So, Mum's scared of water, Dad's scared of heights,

and you want them to go abseiling and boating?

They always make us do things we don't like,

so we'll make them face their fears.

-So this is basically you getting your own back?

-Yeah.

'Transport sorted, then. Mum and Dad will be arriving by canoe,

'having first abseiled down a cliff - if they agree to it.'

The kids know what they want, but with Mum scared of water

and Dad scared of heights, I wonder how it's going to turn out.

So, the wedding's getting close.

Time's running short, but there's still things to do.

It's time to see if the cake meets the kids' high expectations.

Everybody's coming, people are saying, "Where are we going?

"What are you wearing? What's going to happen?"

-We're saying, "We don't know!"

-Now I'm starting to worry.

I was quite relaxed, but now, thinking about what could happen

and what could go wrong...

'In the next room, making wheat circle

'table decorations for the great-outdoors wedding tomorrow,

'Bobby and Flo reveal more surprises they've arranged.'

My mum's going down the aisle after the bridesmaids,

and bridesmaids will be going on scooters.

An owl is going to fly down, land on my hand with a ribbon,

and I'm going to untie the ribbon and give it to my mum and dad.

'An owl at a wedding? Wow!'

This time tomorrow, we could have egg on our faces.

We might wonder why on earth we did all this.

'Three weeks ago, Bobby and Flo's challenge of planning

'their mum and dad's wedding was only a dream.'

'They've worked round the clock to get it all sorted.

With Dad's fear of heights and Mum's fear of cold water,

I'm a bit worried the abseiling and canoeing

'as bride and groom leave their hotel in hiking gear,

'having been told to go to a mysterious cliff-top location.'

So, I guess you were thinking you might be

in your wedding outfits by this point of the day.

One of my favourite moments was when the bands came in.

Mine probably was when the owl came in with the ribbons.

across the lakes to the mountains

and thinking, "Wow, what a spectacular place to get married.

"That's fantastic."
