Today, we're live at Zim, Zam and Zoom's

where they have some very special news for us.

People of Okido, we have some good news.

And some bad news.

Oh, dear. What's the bad news?

The bad news is there's a comet heading straight for Okido.

Wha...?!

Oh, no!

What's a comet?

It's an enormous ball of ice and stone.

That does sound bad. But do you know exactly where it's going to land?

Yes. Zoom?

This is Okido and just there is where the comet is going to land.

Ah! But that's my house!

In fact, it's going to land right here, in the bathroom.

That won't do!

I'm having my weekly bath this afternoon

and I don't want to share it with a comet.

You won't have to, Mr Mayor.

Because here's the good news.

Zim, Zoom and I are going to fly up into space.

We are going to find that comet

and we are going to turn it away from Okido.

-Hooray!

-Yes, thank you!

-Would you three like to help?

-Oh, yes, please!

OK, then, let's stop that comet.

What do we do then?

Ah, this is where you come in.

While Zim and I fly the rocket, you're going to operate the lasso.

The lasso?

We are going to catch the comet in the lasso

and send it right back out into space.

You see the green button?

-Green button?

-That operates the lasso.

It will grab hold of the comet so we can tow it away.

What about the red button? What does that do?

That's the hyperspeed button. It makes us go very fast.

But we only use it when we want to go right out into deep space.

OK...

-FELIX:

-Wow! Zam, why do stars twinkle?

Because stars are huge balls of fire and gas.

But because they are such a long way away, we see them as twinkly lights.

Oh, they're so beautiful.

The sun is also a star, but it is closer so it looks bigger.

This is the solar system.

The solar system is the name for the sun

and all the things which orbit around it.

Orbit? What does that mean?

It means moves around the sun.

And look - you can also see planets.

There's Venus, and Mercury, and there's Jupiter.

Some planets are solid like ours,

but some are made of things like gas or water, and they're all different.

And from the ground, we can see some of the planets twinkling like stars.

Oh!

So the bright lights I can see from my bedroom are stars and planets?

Yes. And comets.

Erm, what about the other planets? There are more, aren't there?

Oh, yes.

There's Saturn, Uranus, Neptune... but we won't see them today.

Their orbits are very, very big

and are much further out in the solar system.

-ALARM WAILS

-Comet ahead!

-Get ready, everyone!

-We're ready!

-Three...

ALARM WAILS

Whoa!

Oh, no!

We're heading right to the edge of the solar system!

I think somebody pressed the hyperspeed button!

Messy!

Argh!

I'm sorry!

What are we going to do?!

We went right past the comet!

Don't worry, the hyperspeed doesn't last long.

By the time we get to the edge of the solar system,

we'll be able to slow down and turn around.

Will we be able to catch the comet?

I hope so!

At least now you get to see the rest of the planets.

Oh, there's Neptune.

-ZOE:

-What are those little planets next to it?

Ah, they're not planets. They're moons.

Moons come in all sorts of shapes and sizes.

They move around a planet rather than around the sun.

Some planets have no moons at all and some have lots.

-Look, there's Uranus.

-Oh, it's really blue.

-FELIX:

-Look at that one - it has rings round it!

Yes, it's Saturn.

And that's Okido.

And look, there's the comet.

-Hold tight, everyone.

-Locked on, let's go.

Messy, can you put us into hyperspeed again?

Yes, please, I would love to!

-We're catching up!
