Hello there, it's a lovely day outside.

Lovely! The birds are singing in the sky.

Oh yuck!

You dirty bird!

Ohhh!

It gives me an idea though.

Let's try something.

The perfect boredom buster for a sunny day -

splat pictures.

Let's make it! Time to visit the Doodle Drawers and get what we need.

Some coloured paper.

Some bits of old sponge.

Some brightly coloured poster paints.

Some plastic cups.

And some water.

Now, to make your splat picture,

like this one, it's a good idea to wear an old t-shirt or apron.

And it's best to do this outside cos it can get a bit messy.

But I think I'll show you in here.

First, put a different colour paint in each cup.

Add water to make the paint runny.

And now give it a quick mix.

Now, drop your sponges into the painty cups.

This is the messy bit.

Remove your painty sponges and place them on the paper.

Now here's the fun part. We need something to splat with.

Off to the Doodle Drawers!

A wooden spoon.

And a spatula.

Ready...

steady...

splat!

This is great! Let's do a big one!

Ready, steady, splat!

Minute make time! Minute make time!

Ooh, it's minute make time. Come on!

Here's what we're going to make today.

It's a pebble dog.

Yes, man's best friend made out of pebbles.

To make a pebble dog you need two pebbles.

A big one and a small one.

You also need some glue, a pen and some white stickers.

If you haven't got these stickers,

you can draw circles on white paper and cut them out.

You also need a rectangle sheet of brown paper and some scissors.

Do you think it's possible to make a pebble dog...in just a minute?

No way!

Really? Let's find out.

I have to be very quick, but I'll remind you how to do it at the end.

Start the clock.

Let's go!

Let's first get our piece of brown paper.

Fold it in half and then with our scissors

cut out an ear shape, like this.

Round and round. Be careful.

When that's done, you can open it up.

Let's get our big pebble and put some glue on the back.

Like that, and then you can stick that down.

He's taking shape now. Let's give him eyes.

I'm using the white stickers for these.

There's one eye and there's two eyes.

Let's add some dots for the eyes.

There's one and there's two.

Some more glue now on our small pebble.

There.

There we go, that's on.

I can finish him off with my pen.

-A pebble dog!

-Time!

Just made it. Phew!

When it's dry and you've got longer,

you could paint his nose. Look, he looks great.

There are so many different shapes and sizes to try. Like this.

This dog is grey with a brown nose.

This one's got a black ring around its eye.

And this dog's got big, floppy ears.

A pebble dog made in a minute. Why don't you try it?

Here's a reminder of how to do it.

Let's go back to the beginning and take another look.

Fold a piece of paper in half.

Cut out an ear shape.

Glue the pebble to the middle of the unfolded ears.

Stick on white stickers for eyes,

and add two black dots in the middle.

Stick on a pebble for the nose and draw a mouth.

Try making it in a minute.

Now, have a look at this.

Doesn't this torn paper picture look brilliant?

It's great fun to make

and looks so good you'll be able to frame it.

You need coloured paper, coloured pencils and glue.

First, rip a piece of paper into strips.

You can use green, like this, for the grass.

Why not make your rips nice and curvy, like this.

Then, put one of the straight edges at the bottom, here.

And stick the next strip on top of it

so that it overlaps like this.

Now, stick the next strip on top again,

so that it overlaps once more.

Carry on until you've stuck all of your green strips together.

Now, do it all again, but with another colour.

You could use blue for the sky.

Remember to make the strips nice and curvy.

This time, make sure one of your straight edges is at the top.

Then, stick it on top of the next strip,

so that it overlaps like this.

Then, stick the next strip underneath,

so it overlaps again.

Carry on until all the strips are stuck together.

Then, stick the two parts of the picture together

with the blue part at the top.

Now, turn it over.

Look! There's the sky and the rolling hills.

What a great looking landscape.

And if you want to add some details, you can.

How about a castle?

And maybe a road.

You could even add flowers as a finishing touch, like this.

Doesn't it look amazing?

The torn paper strips make it look

as if the landscape is going off into the distance.

What a great way of making a really clever picture.

Now all that's left to do is...

frame it.

And next, a messy picture.

Watch this.

Now, guess what this is.

That's a lot of lolly sticks. I need to keep them more tidy.

Mmm, this gives me an idea, though.

Let's make something!

A nifty house with a lolly stick roof

to store your bits and pieces in.

Let's make it! We'll need some things from the Doodle Drawers.

A piece of thin card from a cereal box.

A teabag box with a flippy lid.

Some paint.

And some lolly sticks.

Whoa! Now, to make your house with a lolly stick roof, like this,

make sure that your card is as wide as your box

and twice as long as your lid.

So that's as wide as your box - yes.

And twice as long as your lid - one, two.

Perfect.

Now, let's fold the card in half, like this.

There we go.

And when you open it and turn it over, it makes a great roof shape.

For the roof, we need to stick on some lolly sticks,

and I just happen to have some lying around here.

Now, stick your lolly sticks both sides of the bend.

Like this.

Keep going until your roof is completely covered in lolly sticks.

Now, stick your roof onto your house at the front.

And at the back.

Hold it in place and leave it to dry.

Once it's dry, it's ready to paint.

You can choose any colour you want. I'm going to do the roof blue.

There! Now I'm going to do the walls orange.

When you've finished painting, and it's dry,

we need to add the windows and doors.

Once your windows and doors are painted and dry,

you can make them stand out with a black pen.

There! A beautiful house to keep all your bits and pieces in.

There! You can paint your house any colour you like,

the brighter the better.

This one's got blue walls and a red roof.

Let's take a closer look.
