Yeah! | 0:01:47 | 0:01:49 | |
Hello, Scrappz. It's great to see you, my friend. | 0:01:49 | 0:01:52
Now, what should our party be about today? | 0:01:52 | 0:01:54
SCRAPPZ SQUEAKS | 0:01:54 | 0:01:56
Not yet, Scrappz! | 0:01:56 | 0:01:58
Let's see if the Mini Makers have any got ideas. | 0:01:58 | 0:02:01
Come on, Mini Makers. Over here. That's it. | 0:02:01 | 0:02:04
Have a look at the screen. We're going to show you some clues. | 0:02:04 | 0:02:07
See if you can guess what our party is going to be about today. | 0:02:07 | 0:02:11
-KIDS: -Doughnut! -What shape is it? | 0:02:13 | 0:02:15
A circle! | 0:02:15 | 0:02:17
-A circle. -CD. | 0:02:18 | 0:02:21
The moon. | 0:02:22 | 0:02:25
A wheel and it's a circle. | 0:02:25 | 0:02:28
And I'll give you one last clue, but I don't think you need it. | 0:02:28 | 0:02:32
Look! | 0:02:32 | 0:02:34 | |
It's a button on my waistcoat. | 0:02:34 | 0:02:36
What shape is it? | 0:02:36 | 0:02:38
-A circle! -That's right. | 0:02:38 | 0:02:40
So today, our party is going to be about... | 0:02:40 | 0:02:42
Circles! Yeah! | 0:02:42 | 0:02:46
Scrappz, look at you, my friend! | 0:02:48 | 0:02:50
You are cooler when you hula! | 0:02:50 | 0:02:53
That's right. | 0:02:53 | 0:02:55
Yeah! | 0:02:55 | 0:02:57 | |
So, everyone, let's start thinking in circles | 0:02:57 | 0:03:01
and make an arty party picture. | 0:03:01 | 0:03:03
What shall we use today? | 0:03:03 | 0:03:04
Paint. | 0:03:04 | 0:03:05
And what shall we use to print the paint onto our picture? | 0:03:05 | 0:03:09
-Cups. -Bubble wrap. | 0:03:09 | 0:03:11
And what shall we print all of our circles onto? | 0:03:11 | 0:03:14
Paper! | 0:03:14 | 0:03:16
Coloured card. | 0:03:16 | 0:03:17
Some lovely ideas there, Mini Makers. | 0:03:17 | 0:03:20
And, thank you, because it has just given me a brilliant idea! | 0:03:20 | 0:03:24
Let's get arty at our party | 0:03:25 | 0:03:27
and go circle crazy using bubble wrap | 0:03:27 | 0:03:30
and round objects to print a really colourful picture. | 0:03:30 | 0:03:34
But first, we'll need some things from... | 0:03:34 | 0:03:36
The Doodle Tube! | 0:03:36 | 0:03:39
That's right! | 0:03:39 | 0:03:41
We'll need some paper or card and brightly coloured paint. | 0:03:47 | 0:03:50
Some bubble wrap and some brushes. | 0:03:54 | 0:03:57
A bouncy ball... | 0:04:01 | 0:04:04
No, Doodle Tube. | 0:04:04 | 0:04:06
This is a sphere, not a circle. | 0:04:06 | 0:04:09
Come on, we don't want letters of complaint, do we? | 0:04:09 | 0:04:13
And we'll also need some round cups and some lids. | 0:04:17 | 0:04:22
All right then, Mini Makers, let's get started. | 0:04:22 | 0:04:25
This is going to be lots of fun, but it can get quite messy | 0:04:25 | 0:04:29
so it's a good idea to put down some old paper | 0:04:29 | 0:04:32
or some newspaper first. | 0:04:32 | 0:04:34
Let's start off by bringing in some background paper or card. | 0:04:34 | 0:04:39
And now we need to print | 0:04:39 | 0:04:40
some brightly coloured circles onto this card. | 0:04:40 | 0:04:43
And to do that, I'm going to use some bubble wrap first. | 0:04:43 | 0:04:47
What we're going to do is take a brush | 0:04:47 | 0:04:50
and we paint right on to the bubbles. | 0:04:50 | 0:04:53
Make sure you get lots of paint on. | 0:04:53 | 0:04:56
And when you have done that, | 0:04:56 | 0:04:58
we can print it onto the card. On it goes. | 0:04:58 | 0:05:01
Print it down. | 0:05:01 | 0:05:04
And then carefully peel it off. | 0:05:04 | 0:05:07
Look at that! Lovely circles. | 0:05:07 | 0:05:10
Let's do some more. | 0:05:10 | 0:05:11
And it looks really good if you use lots of different colours. | 0:05:11 | 0:05:15
And now we can print some circles that are a little bit | 0:05:17 | 0:05:21
smaller by using smaller bubble wrap. | 0:05:21 | 0:05:24
And when the paint is dry, find a cup, a lid | 0:05:30 | 0:05:32
or something with a rim like this, | 0:05:32 | 0:05:37
and use that to print more circles all over our picture. | 0:05:37 | 0:05:40
Let's use some nice bright white paint this time. | 0:05:40 | 0:05:45
Just dip it in and print it on. Here we go. | 0:05:45 | 0:05:47
This is going to be a nice big circle, this one. | 0:05:47 | 0:05:50
Look at that. | 0:05:50 | 0:05:52
Let's do some more. | 0:05:52 | 0:05:54
Keep printing more circles in different sizes | 0:05:54 | 0:05:57
all over your picture. | 0:05:57 | 0:05:58
And here we have it, my friends, | 0:06:00 | 0:06:02
a super circle print picture. | 0:06:02 | 0:06:05
What do you think about that? Do you like it? | 0:06:05 | 0:06:07
Yes! | 0:06:07 | 0:06:08 | |
Well, I'm glad you like that, my friends, | 0:06:08 | 0:06:11
because now you're going to get your own chance | 0:06:11 | 0:06:14
to make your arty party picture, but first, you need to put on your... | 0:06:14 | 0:06:18
Arty aprons! | 0:06:18 | 0:06:20
Yeah! | 0:06:20 | 0:06:22 | |
It's time to... | 0:06:22 | 0:06:24
Start the art! | 0:06:24 | 0:06:27
Daniel, I love the way you have used big and small circles. | 0:06:47 | 0:06:52
What colours of paint have you used? | 0:06:52 | 0:06:54
I have used yellow, blue, pink, silver and purple. | 0:06:54 | 0:06:58
And it looks great. Keep making, my friend. | 0:06:58 | 0:07:01
And I wonder, has anyone else ever had any arty ideas with circles? | 0:07:01 | 0:07:06
Let's find out. | 0:07:06 | 0:07:09
Wassily Kandinsky was a famous artist. | 0:07:09 | 0:07:12
Some people think that one day | 0:07:12 | 0:07:15
whilst walking through a gallery, he saw an unusual painting. | 0:07:15 | 0:07:19
He thought it was incredible and he loved the shapes in it. | 0:07:19 | 0:07:23
Taking a closer look, | 0:07:23 | 0:07:24
he realised it was an upside-down painting leaning against the wall. | 0:07:24 | 0:07:28
Oh, I like it! I like it a lot! | 0:07:28 | 0:07:32
It was at that moment that Kandinsky had a brilliant idea. | 0:07:32 | 0:07:37
All visitors must walk on their hands! | 0:07:38 | 0:07:41
No, wait. I've got an even better idea. | 0:07:41 | 0:07:45
That's it. Abstract art. | 0:07:46 | 0:07:51
Kandinsky began to paint using different lines, shapes | 0:07:51 | 0:07:55
and colours rather than normal everyday things. | 0:07:55 | 0:07:58
One of his most famous pieces of art | 0:07:58 | 0:08:01
is made up of lots of circles and rings. | 0:08:01 | 0:08:03
That's it. All done! | 0:08:05 | 0:08:08
And Kandinsky's work looks brilliant, | 0:08:08 | 0:08:11
whichever way you look at it. | 0:08:11 | 0:08:13
I feel like I am going round in circles! | 0:08:13 | 0:08:18
Of course, you'd realise straight away if a picture was upside down... | 0:08:18 | 0:08:23
Wouldn't you? | 0:08:25 | 0:08:26
Now, let's see how the Mini Makers are getting on. | 0:08:27 | 0:08:31
Very nice, well done. And well done, Cameron. | 0:08:35 | 0:08:38
Lots of super circles. How did you make them all? | 0:08:38 | 0:08:41
I used some pots and cups and little bottles. | 0:08:41 | 0:08:46
Very nice. | 0:08:46 | 0:08:47
It looks very, very colourful. | 0:08:47 | 0:08:50
These are super. Very big circles. | 0:08:52 | 0:08:55
How did you make those? | 0:08:55 | 0:08:56
I used these to stick them down. | 0:08:56 | 0:08:59
Wow, it's a big tube and you dipped it in the paint | 0:08:59 | 0:09:02
and then you printed it on and it looks really nice. | 0:09:02 | 0:09:05
It's a great idea because they really stand out. | 0:09:05 | 0:09:08
Well done, Connor. | 0:09:08 | 0:09:11
Alicia, I've never seen so many colourful circles. | 0:09:11 | 0:09:14
What colours have you used? | 0:09:14 | 0:09:16
I've used purple, orange, green, a lot of pink. | 0:09:16 | 0:09:19
It looks a bit like a disco, your picture, doesn't it? | 0:09:19 | 0:09:23
Shall we have a bit of a disco? | 0:09:23 | 0:09:25
SNORING | 0:09:25 | 0:09:28
Wait a minute. What's that noise? | 0:09:28 | 0:09:30
It sounds like someone snoring. | 0:09:30 | 0:09:32
Who is it, everybody? | 0:09:32 | 0:09:34
The Shapes! | 0:09:34 | 0:09:35
That's right. It's the Shapes. And I think we should wake them up. | 0:09:35 | 0:09:39
So after three. Ready? One, two, three. | 0:09:39 | 0:09:42
Wake up! | 0:09:42 | 0:09:45
BOING! | 0:09:48 | 0:09:51

Today, Scrappz is getting some help | 0:11:40 | 0:11:43
from one of the Mini Makers to make this cute cupcake fish. | 0:11:43 | 0:11:47
Hi, I'm Rosie May and to make a cupcake fish like this, and you need | 0:11:47 | 0:11:52
to flatten out a cupcake case... | 0:11:52 | 0:11:56
..and fold it into a half, | 0:12:00 | 0:12:04
and then fold it again. | 0:12:04 | 0:12:06
And stick it in the middle of the page. | 0:12:14 | 0:12:17
Flatten out another cupcake case and then put glue on the edges. | 0:12:19 | 0:12:26
And stick it down on the point of the tail. | 0:12:32 | 0:12:37
Now we get a big, bright sticker. | 0:12:37 | 0:12:39
We'll stick it at the top of the body. | 0:12:40 | 0:12:43
And to finish the eye, | 0:12:44 | 0:12:47
put a black sticker in the middle of the white sticker. | 0:12:47 | 0:12:51
Cupcake fish are really great fun to make. | 0:13:08 | 0:13:11
Thanks, Rosie May. What a cute cupcake fish! | 0:13:11 | 0:13:15
And you can make any sort of cupcake picture you like! | 0:13:15 | 0:13:20
Rishi, let's see your picture. What have you made, my friend? | 0:13:22 | 0:13:26
I've made a bug with big eyes and a cake case body. | 0:13:26 | 0:13:31
Very nice, and I like the way that you've flattened the cake case | 0:13:31 | 0:13:35
for the body there, Rishi. Well done. | 0:13:35 | 0:13:38
And Daniel, these look very pretty. What about you, Daniel? | 0:13:38 | 0:13:42
I've made flowers with faces. | 0:13:42 | 0:13:45
Not just flowers, but faces, too! | 0:13:45 | 0:13:47
I like the way you've folded up the cake cases there, very nice indeed. | 0:13:47 | 0:13:52
And last, but not least, let's have a look at Sophie's picture here. | 0:13:52 | 0:13:56
I love your frog with big eyes and a big smile. | 0:13:56 | 0:14:00
And all the Mini Makers are smiling because you've made some | 0:14:00 | 0:14:04
great pictures, but now, my friends, everyone follow me. This way! | 0:14:04 | 0:14:08
Come on, here we go! That's it, my friends. Over you come. | 0:14:08 | 0:14:12
Now, you are about to make a brilliant party picture. | 0:14:12 | 0:14:16
Have a look at the screen and see if you can guess what it is. | 0:14:16 | 0:14:20
What picture are today's Mini Makers making? | 0:14:22 | 0:14:26

-It's a pizza! -You made a picture of a pizza and it was perfect! | 0:14:50 | 0:14:55

Mini Makers, today, you are going to print circles to make | 0:15:45 | 0:15:49
a caterpillar - or should I say a splatterpillar - | 0:15:49 | 0:15:53
like this one here. | 0:15:53 | 0:15:55
Now, the only difference is, your splatterpillar is going to be | 0:15:55 | 0:15:59
a really big one! | 0:15:59 | 0:16:00
You're going to make it on this big piece of paper | 0:16:00 | 0:16:03
and your splatterpillar is going to walk along that huge twig. | 0:16:03 | 0:16:07
Now, to make a splatterpillar, you'll need all of these shapes, | 0:16:07 | 0:16:11
your paint stampers and lots and lots of paint, | 0:16:11 | 0:16:14
and that's why you're wearing your lovely Arty Party suits. | 0:16:14 | 0:16:18
So, Theo, Evie and Eno, do you think you can do it? | 0:16:18 | 0:16:22
-Yes! -I think so, too, my friends, but you must be quick. | 0:16:22 | 0:16:25
You've got to finish your splatterpillar | 0:16:25 | 0:16:28
before Scrappz makes this noise. | 0:16:28 | 0:16:30
CYMBALS CRASH | 0:16:30 | 0:16:32
Ready? Get steady... | 0:16:32 | 0:16:33
HONK! | 0:16:33 | 0:16:35 | |
Go! | 0:16:35 | 0:16:37 | |
Start with the head. That's it. | 0:16:37 | 0:16:39
Who's next? It's Evie. | 0:16:39 | 0:16:41
A lovely, yellow circle. Well done. | 0:16:41 | 0:16:43
Who's next? It's Eno. | 0:16:43 | 0:16:46
That's it. | 0:16:46 | 0:16:47
And lift it up. | 0:16:47 | 0:16:49
Oh, well done, Eno. | 0:16:49 | 0:16:50
Very good. Well done. | 0:16:50 | 0:16:53
Well done. | 0:16:53 | 0:16:55
Well done, Theo. It looks good. | 0:16:57 | 0:17:00
Very good. | 0:17:02 | 0:17:04
Well done, Eno. | 0:17:04 | 0:17:06
That's fantastic. Now, I think our caterpillar needs some feet! | 0:17:06 | 0:17:11
One foot per circle. | 0:17:11 | 0:17:14
Let's get the caterpillar's toes pointing forward. | 0:17:14 | 0:17:17
That's it, one per circle, that's it, and one on there, Evie. | 0:17:17 | 0:17:21
How many do we need to go? | 0:17:21 | 0:17:24
That's it. One more foot, now. Can you do it, Theo? | 0:17:24 | 0:17:28
He's found it. Well done, Theo. | 0:17:28 | 0:17:30
Now we need the face of the caterpillar. | 0:17:30 | 0:17:33
We've got a mouth and we've got two eyes | 0:17:33 | 0:17:35
and now we just need the antennae. | 0:17:35 | 0:17:37
Put it on. | 0:17:37 | 0:17:39
Oh, and Mini Makers, it looks like the branch needs to move up a bit. | 0:17:39 | 0:17:43
Careful not to stand on the paint! | 0:17:43 | 0:17:45
That's it, perfect. Oh, Scrappz! | 0:17:45 | 0:17:48
CYMBALS CRASH | 0:17:48 | 0:17:49
Oh! Time's up. Well done, Mini Makers! | 0:17:49 | 0:17:52
CHEERING | 0:17:52 | 0:17:54
Wow, look at that! | 0:17:54 | 0:17:55
It's a super splatterpillar | 0:17:55 | 0:17:58
made with lots and lots of colourful circles. | 0:17:58 | 0:18:01
That's one colourful caterpillar. It must have eaten a rainbow salad. | 0:18:01 | 0:18:05
Well done, my friends. | 0:18:05 | 0:18:07
That was brilliant, but now it's time to tidy up. | 0:18:07 | 0:18:10
Go on, you get started, Mini Makers. I'll come and help you. | 0:18:10 | 0:18:14
We've had a brilliant Arty Party today. | 0:18:14 | 0:18:17
We've had great fun with circles, | 0:18:19 | 0:18:22
printing with circles and making pictures using cupcake cases. | 0:18:22 | 0:18:26
We found out how Wassily Kandinsky used circles in his art | 0:18:26 | 0:18:31
and we made a giant caterpillar | 0:18:31 | 0:18:33
using circles in our Arty Party game. | 0:18:33 | 0:18:36
# We've been arty at our Arty Party | 0:18:36 | 0:18:39
# Are you ready? | 0:18:39 | 0:18:42

Yes, that's right. Our party's over, but your arty fun is just beginning. | 0:18:46 | 0:18:52
It's time to put the party pad back in its box. | 0:18:52 | 0:18:55
-See you soon, everyone! -Bye! | 0:18:55 | 0:18:57
