In fact, since arriving in England

four years ago, he has created more

There is so much we can learn from

him. Follow these steps and you will

be creating chances galore for your

team-mates every week. Perfect your

technique. Technique is all about

how you pick and control the ball.

Just look at this, he is completely

comfortable with the ball and makes

it look so easy. But remember,

practice and dedication gotten

there. Why not work harder to make

your technique good? And if it is

good, work even harder to make it

great. That is what Mesut Ozil did

as a kid growing up in Germany. Know

what is around you. When you watch

him, it is like he has got 360

degrees vision, almost like he has

eyes in the back of his head. Look

at this against Leicester,

absolutely ridiculous. The key to

this skill is to be constantly aware

of what is around you when you have

not got the ball. If you know where

your team-mates and opponents are,

when you get the ball, you are one

step ahead. It is your time to shine

and you know what to do with it.

Split the defence. Mesut Ozil

creates so many chances for his

team-mates because he is always

looking for the killer ball, he is

world class at finding space and

executing a perfectly weighted pass,

whether it is rolling the ball

through on the ground, or hitting it

over the top. Look at this assist

with Theo Walcott. Absolutely

perfect. Look for a team-mate to

make a run into space, and then hit

the ball through to them. Remember,

don't pass it to their feet, it it

into the space they are running

into. This is what Mesut Ozil does

so well and defenders just can't

handle it. Make runs. Some fans with

size him for being lazy, but that is

not true. Look at this. Mesut Ozil

realises he can't split the defence

himself because they are too deep so

he knocks the ball to a team-mate

and makes an amazing run into the

box. Look around the pitch, if you

find some space, sprint into it and

this will make you such a better

player and your team-mates will love

you. Be creative. Mesut Ozil is one

of the most creative players on the

planet, that is why he has played

for teams like Real Madrid and won

so much silverware. Doing something

different, or doing something

special, is what can lift your game

to a new level. Just like Mesut

Ozil, never be afraid to do

something out of the ordinary. It

might be a nightmare, a twist, a

term, something to get you away from

the man, or an amazing flick that

sets up a goal. It won't always

work, but when it does, the fans

will be cheering you on. The key is

confidence. Stay confident, have

faith in your ability and you never

know what might happen, you might

even win the World Cup!
