I like going here and there to do lots of fun things

and find out about new places. What do you like to do

Hello, I'm Ivana! I love the park because I can play with my hula hoop.

I love coming to Victoria Gardens with my dad

because there's lots of things to see.

I'm Alexander, and I love coming to the park

because I love playing with my friends here.

Aw! Well, thanks for inviting me to your park.

I can tell you, it's a lovely place, this. Look at it!

And I'm intrigued, what are all these things here?

-They're called the Gorsedd Stones.

-The Gorsedd Stones.

Wow, that sounds exciting! They look very old to me.

Have they been here a long time?

They've been here nearly for 100 years.

And why did people put them here in the first place?

-For the Eisteddfod.

-The Eisteddfod? You'll have to tell me what that is.

-It's a Welsh festival of music.

-Wow! So all those years ago,

there was loads of music here? I'd like to have seen that, would you?

-Yeah.

-Yeah. And do you have music elsewhere in the park?

Yeah, on the bandstand over there. Come with me.

All right, you lead on!

-This is a nice bandstand, Alex. But you know what it's missing?

-Band.

A band. That's right. So do you reckon we could be a band?

All right, well, let's put the band together. Come on! Here we go.

We're running the playscheme in Neath Victoria Gardens today.

Would you like to join in? We're making things out of modelling dough.

-Wow, so I see.

-I'm making a spider. We've done some snails, haven't we?

Yeah, you've been very busy here. What else have we got?

The tiddlers are making things you might find in Victoria Gardens.

There are pretty flowers...

and lots of insects.

Eh, look at that spider!

Ooh, she's great!

Zach's making a bucket of water.

That'll keep the plants healthy.

And there's even a drawing of me! Haha!

It looks like everyone is very busy in here. What other things

-do you get up to?

-You could go outside with everyone else

-and do some circus skills.

Wow, there are lots of things to try here!

There are floaty ribbons. Ooh, they make pretty patterns!

And some things are quite hard.

Ooh, looks like Adrienne's been practising!

-Have you done any juggling before, Alex?

-No.

-Shall we try?

Throw it up, watch it with your eyes, catch it in the other hand.

That was great, wasn't it? We've been right busy in this park.

-What've we been up to?

-We've pretended to be rock stars

-on the bandstand.

-Yeah, we've given it some guitar-playing.

-What have you enjoyed, Ivana?

-I've enjoyed doing the circus things.

I liked playing with the ribbon and doing the shapes.

You were proper good with that ribbon.

-We had a good juggle, didn't we, Alex?

-Yeah.

And you were spinning those plates.

-Was it difficult?

-Yes.

-I bet. This park certainly keeps you busy.

The route finder's got something for us... Ah! You know what

it's going to show us? Different types of parks and gardens.

Some gardens have beautiful flowerbeds like these.

Ooh, they're very popular with the bees!

Some have things to climb and places where you can skate and ride.

'Ey up! And some even have lakes

where you can sail a boat.

Yep, a trip to the park is great fun!

-Nice to meet you. And you are?

-So what are you up to?

-We're Play Heroes

-and we're complaining about the broken flowers.

-Play Heroes?

That sounds like a fancy title. So if you're Play Heroes,

-what do you have to do?

-You have to look at the environment and make sure

everywhere is safe for children to play.

The Play Heroes have a really important job.

They look at all the areas where children play, to make sure

they're safe and clean. If there's a problem,

they write a report and tell the grown-ups who look after the area.

-Hey! So you help out the other tiddlers? Is that right?

-Yeah.

Well, I'm going to go find out how the other tiddlers are.

They're here somewhere. I'm practising my juggling.

-Do you reckon I'll get it?

-Yeah.

-Yeah.

-I hope so.

-ALL: Hi, Mr Bloom!

Ooh, this is looking good. Maddie, what are you up to here?

We're making a mosaic garden.

A mosaic garden! Oh, yeah!

Look, you've got all these different types of mosaic tiles.

All different colours. So you're pushing them down into the clay.

You'll need big strong fingers and thumbs for that.

-What bit are you doing, Ivana?

-The bumblebee wings.

-Yellow!

-And which bit are you doing, Maddie?

-The leaves on the tree.

-Oh, OK.

I'm doing the sky.

-Shall we do stones at the bottom?

-There's a colour for a stone.

-Mr Bloom?

-Yes.

-Can you pass me a green, please?

-You bet I can.

-Here he comes.

Yeah! Shall we see, Maddie? Do you want to hold it up?

Well, tiddlers, I reckon that is a triumph. And it's really nice

to make something everyone can appreciate.

Like the bandstand, the stones and the flowerbeds,
