I don't think a lion would fancy these cabbages.

But I think it could be the birds.

The birds come down here, pecking at my cabbages for their tea

and now, there's nothing left for my dinner, is there?

Look over here. I built this scarecrow to scare the birds away.

But they're not scared of him any more.

In fact, I saw one sitting on his head the other day!

Birds are scared of bright and shiny things,

not saggy old scarecrows like him.
