Good morning, I'm Jenny, with all the top stories

:00:00.:00:00.

from around the world this Tuesday. Keep watching.

:00:07.:00:09.

We crack open our Newsround Advent Calendar.

:00:10.:00:17.

I am at a school that has got a special safety message for the

:00:18.:00:26.

parents. Don't let your road monster, don't let your road

:00:27.:00:30.

monster, the angry, callous, silly road monster out!

:00:31.:00:37.

The attacks that took place in Paris, on Friday November 13th,

:00:38.:00:40.

The people that claimed responsibility for these acts, call

:00:41.:00:46.

themselves Islamic State, or IS. But who are they?

:00:47.:00:49.

And what can, and should, the world do to stop them?

:00:50.:00:51.

That's the question now being asked here in the UK.

:00:52.:00:55.

IS are a group based in the Middle East, mainly in Iraq and Syria,

:00:56.:00:59.

They use brutal violence against anyone who doesn't agree

:01:00.:01:04.

They claim to follow the religion of Islam, but many people say their

:01:05.:01:10.

beliefs of hatred and violence have little to do with Islam and what

:01:11.:01:13.

Since early 2014, IS has grown quickly - using

:01:14.:01:20.

the internet and social media to recruit followers and spread fear.

:01:21.:01:27.

They have been able to take over large parts of Syria

:01:28.:01:30.

and neighbouring Iraq, declaring this their own state -

:01:31.:01:33.

and punishing anyone who doesn't follow their strict rules.

:01:34.:01:38.

Lots of different groups are fighting in Syria, and nations

:01:39.:01:42.

around the world can't agree on who they want to control the country.

:01:43.:01:47.

What does unite most of the world is the desire to stop IS because

:01:48.:01:50.

The UK has bombed Islamic State-controlled areas in

:01:51.:01:55.

Iraq but two years ago politicians voted against bombing in Syria.

:01:56.:02:01.

However, since IS have started attacking places around the world -

:02:02.:02:05.

like Paris - there is more pressure on the UK to stop them.

:02:06.:02:11.

Prime Minister David Cameron wants MPs to vote to decide

:02:12.:02:19.

whether or not the UK should start to bomb IS in Syria.

:02:20.:02:21.

..is to address the threat we face

:02:22.:02:23.

Both France and the USA have already launched airstrikes in the country,

:02:24.:02:28.

but some feel that the bombs also affect too many

:02:29.:02:30.

innocent people living there, and that the UK shouldn't be involved.

:02:31.:02:35.

There's much more on the Newsround website about what's happening

:02:36.:02:38.

Next up, if you're used to traffic jams outside your school -

:02:39.:02:45.

A group of schools in Hertfordshire in southern England wrote

:02:46.:02:50.

a catchy song to try and get adults to be more careful

:02:51.:02:53.

They roped in a whole team of professionals who gave up

:02:54.:02:58.

their time for free to produce a video with an important message.

:02:59.:03:04.

This road might seem pretty calm right now but come 3pm,

:03:05.:03:07.

So children and parents from six schools in the local area

:03:08.:03:14.

decided to do something about it and with the help of their voices,

:03:15.:03:17.

Children and parents came together to produce the music video with

:03:18.:03:30.

Professional directors and camera operators turned this

:03:31.:03:36.

And the inspiration behind the track?

:03:37.:03:50.

It is all those hot-headed parents who drop off their kids

:03:51.:03:53.

We are going to be late, we are going to be late and the

:03:54.:03:59.

parents want to get their kids on time to school and then they just go

:04:00.:04:02.

A road monster is like a person who drives over the speed limit or

:04:03.:04:18.

All of those kids who really want to walk to school, cycle and scoot to

:04:19.:04:22.

school, having all this traffic around it just makes it much less

:04:23.:04:25.

likely they will do that because it is dangerous and it worries them.

:04:26.:04:29.

And making the video was not as easy as it sounds.

:04:30.:04:36.

Weird because we were filming in a toilet.

:04:37.:04:40.

Sometimes you would be really into the song and they would say,

:04:41.:04:43.

# So don't let your road monster, don't let your road monster,

:04:44.:04:55.

the angry careless silly road monster out. #

:04:56.:05:00.

:05:10.:05:13.

Hi, guys, my name is Yannis and I have a really cool tradition in

:05:14.:05:22.

my family which is, I shout, it's Christmas, to wake everybody up and

:05:23.:05:25.

Well, we smash eggs first and then we eat them together

:05:26.:05:32.

which is a great tradition and then afterwards we open the presents.

:05:33.:05:41.

We'd love to hear about your Christmas traditions - send your

:05:42.:05:44.

:05:50.:05:57.
