Good afternoon, news fans.

0:00:030:00:04

I'm Jenny, live with your last Newsround update of the day.

0:00:040:00:06

You won't want to miss all this.

0:00:060:00:09

Find out what happened when this record-breaking spaceman

0:00:090:00:12

returned to Earth.

0:00:120:00:14

And we want to know your World Book Day plans!

0:00:140:00:18

But first to that story that's had you sending in your views all day.

0:00:270:00:31

We're asking, should tackling be banned in rugby games?

0:00:310:00:31

Today a group of more than 70 doctors and health experts said

0:00:340:00:38

they want to stop tackling in school rugby, because they say it's

0:00:380:00:41

dangerous.

0:00:410:00:43

Rugby is brilliant because it gives me confidence.

0:00:430:00:46

It gives me adrenaline and makes me feel stronger.

0:00:460:00:49

It keeps you fit and healthy.

0:00:490:00:51

It is compulsory at many schools in the UK.

0:00:510:00:56

They are big fans here at this school in Cheshire,

0:00:560:00:58

but now some doctors say that the way rugby is played

0:00:580:01:01

in schools should change.

0:01:010:01:03

They have written to politicians, asking them to ban tackling

0:01:030:01:06

in school and club games for anybody under 18.

0:01:060:01:10

The risk of injury can be 28% for a child playing in a season,

0:01:100:01:15

and an 11% risk of being concussed.

0:01:150:01:19

These are serious injuries.

0:01:190:01:20

The way of preventing 90% of injuries is to take out

0:01:200:01:26

and remove the tackle and contact from the game.

0:01:260:01:30

The PE teacher at this school says tackling can be safe.

0:01:310:01:34

We are trying to minimise the risks, make it as little as possible,

0:01:340:01:38

so that people don't get injured, but focus on the main things,

0:01:380:01:41

the core values.

0:01:410:01:43

We make sure all staff are trained and students are aware,

0:01:430:01:47

and when it is appropriate for them to go into contact in a game

0:01:470:01:50

situation, they have done the progress.

0:01:500:01:54

I think it should not be banned.

0:01:540:01:55

As long as you are taught how to do it safely,

0:01:550:01:58

you are OK.

0:01:580:01:59

When you do a fair tackle, it gives you the confidence

0:01:590:02:03

to boost your team and help them win the game.

0:02:030:02:06

You can injure yourself in any sport.

0:02:060:02:07

The contact makes you more excited and gets your adrenaline going.

0:02:070:02:12

It is an important part of the game, it becomes natural and it is fine.

0:02:130:02:17

We have been asking for your comments, not all of you agree

0:02:190:02:21

it should stay.

0:02:210:02:25

The people in charge of running rugby in England told Newsround

0:02:310:02:34

there are special rules for young players to make the sport as safe

0:02:340:02:37

as possible and a lot of research goes into minimising any

0:02:370:02:41

risk of injury.

0:02:410:02:44

Record-breaking US astronaut Scott Kelly came back to Earth

0:02:440:02:47

with a bump today after almost a year in space.

0:02:470:02:50

He was joined by Russian cosmonaut Mikhail Korniyenko,

0:02:500:02:53

and the pair landed at around 4:30am this morning.

0:02:530:02:56

They had to be helped out of their capsule,

0:02:560:02:58

because being in space weakens your muscles.

0:02:580:03:00

During his stay on the International Space Station Scott shared some

0:03:000:03:03

incredible images and videos of our planet, so let's take

0:03:030:03:07

a look.

0:03:070:03:09

340 days in space, and during that time, Scott Kelly has

0:03:090:03:15

shared his experiences online, from chilling out with his

0:03:150:03:19

colleagues to fantastic views from above.

0:03:190:03:23

He also carried out lots of work as well, including important repairs

0:03:250:03:29

to the ISS.

0:03:290:03:32

And of course there was always lots of time for fun.

0:03:320:03:36

This is Scott dressed up.

0:03:360:03:38

But it does not stop there, his identical twin Mark,

0:03:380:03:41

also an astronaut, stayed grounded during the year.

0:03:410:03:45

Nasa will now test them both to find out how a year of weightlessness

0:03:450:03:48

affects the body.

0:03:480:03:49

It is hoped they will find out more about what it is like to travel

0:03:490:03:53

to Mars, which would take a year of space travel.

0:03:530:03:57

The Track Cycling World Championships kick off

0:03:580:04:00

in London today.

0:04:000:04:01

Among the riders is double Olympic gold medallist Laura Trott.

0:04:010:04:04

She told us about the moment she realised as a child she could be

0:04:040:04:07

a cycling superstar.

0:04:070:04:10

We used to go Welling and do a track meet on a Friday night.

0:04:100:04:14

I was in the B group, and the A riders would be

0:04:140:04:17

handicapped, they had to catch you for a lap.

0:04:170:04:20

A guy pushed me off, I went flying, I did not have to pedal.

0:04:200:04:24

I remember winning and I thought, maybe I can do this,

0:04:250:04:28

and it took off from there.

0:04:280:04:31

Now, tomorrow isn't just 3rd March, it's World Book Day,

0:04:310:04:34

a huge celebration of everything reading-related!

0:04:340:04:37

It's marked in over 100 countries round the globe,

0:04:370:04:40

and we want to know what you're doing for the day.

0:04:400:04:42

Are you dressing up?

0:04:420:04:43

Reading a favourite book?

0:04:430:04:44

Or even putting on a play?

0:04:440:04:46

Whatever you're doing, we want your photos and videos now,

0:04:460:04:48

so get online and send them our way.

0:04:480:04:51

That's all from the team today.

0:04:510:04:53
