First, there are warnings of very high levels of air pollution across

most of England and Wales over the next few days. Over the last few

days, many people have found their cars covered in a mysterious layer

of fine dust. The south of England, and parts of Wales and Northern

Ireland have all been affected and in London the fine sand floating in

the air has triggered one of the worst smogs of the year. But now

it's set to spread further. It's all to do with the Sahara desert, as BBC

weather presenter Peter Gibbs explains in this special weather

report for Newsround. This mystery dust has been reported all over the

UK at the last two or three days and it did actually come all the way

from the Sahara desert. Over the weekend we had an area of low

pressure, a storm, in the south-west of Europe which caused strong winds

to develop over the north-west of Africa where the Sahara desert is,

and it is just covered in dust and fine sand. The winds are strong

enough to pick up the dust and sand which is of a yellow colour and lift

it high into the atmosphere. It was transported by strong winds across

Spain and France, and once it reached the UK he got mixed up with

clouds, and the rain fell with the dust which brought it down to the

ground, and when the rain evaporated we were left with the dust. It

happens more often than you think that this was a particularly heavy

fall. A powerful earthquake has hit off the coast of northern Chile in

South America, triggering a tsunami alert. The quake happened overnight

and waves as high as two meters hit some areas. Tens of thousands of

people have been evacuated and a state of emergency has been

declared. Five people have been killed. These pictures of traffic

jams as people tried to leave were shown on Chilean TV.

The road safety charity Brake is calling for a 20mph speed limit

because they say it will keep kids safer on the roads. At the moment

the speed limit in most villages towns and cities is 30 miles an

hour. Some places where there are schools or lots of houses have a

20mph speed limit in place already but the charity wants this to happen

everywhere. They're heading to Parliament today to try and persuade

MPs that the slower speed limit will save lives. The go 20 campaign is

about making the streets safer for people to walk and cycle, so it's

about protecting kids walking to school, going to the park, going to

see their friends, and making sure that children and adults are not

being knocked down and hurt by drivers going too fast. Let's get

you some sport now and what could be a turnaround in Manchester United's

fortunes this season. They managed to hold the reigning Champions

Bayern Munich to a draw in the Champions League last night. Nemanja

Vidic headed David Moyes' side into the lead before Bastian

Schweinsteiger got Bayern a precious away goal. But he was later sent off

and will miss the second leg in Germany. United boss David Moyes is

still confident his side can pull off an upset next week. We will go

toe to toe with them and try to come out on top. It is a tough tie, but

we all believe we have a great chance of a competition, we really

do. Our best football has been in this competition and we note we have

to show our best football when we go to Bayern Munich next week.

Last night's other quarterfinal also ended in a 1-1 draw. An absolute

belter from Diego Ribas opened the scoring between Spanish giants

Atletico Madrid and Barcelona after nearly an hour's play. But Neymar

got one back later in the game to keep Barca in the tie.

Chelsea will face the might of Zlatan Ibrahimovic in France tonight

for their quarterfinal, against Paris St Germain. The French side

look likely to win their second league title in a row, mainly thanks

to the genius of the Swedish striker. We'll hear what Chelsea

Jose Mourinho thinks about the Zlatan threat, in our next bulletin

at 8:15am. The Heritage lottery fund will give

over ?1 million to protect the UK bee population. They help pollinate

crops that are at risk of extinction and money is being given to over 200

schools to make their ground into Poland friendly spaces so that more

attractive to the insects. Last up, the tallest Ferris wheel in the

world has opened up in Las Vegas in America. It stands at an impressive

168 meters tall. The wheel has 28 glass pods which can each hold up to

40 people. But it won't be the tallest wheel for long. Two giant

Ferris wheels are being built, one in New York City and another in

Dubai in the Middle East. The Las Vegas High Roller is about 33 metres

taller than the London Eye. That's all from me, Newsround's back right
