recycling more of it than we did five years ago.

But the bad news is the amount of it that gets rejected because

it's contaminated with other rubbish is growing at a far faster rate.

Over 100,000 tonnes of contaminated waste ended up in landfill sites

last year, and some councils say people need to be more careful

A solar-powered plane that will be taken on a round-the-world journey

next year has taken off for the first time this morning.

The Solar Impulse 2 lifted off from an airfield in Switzerland.
