Hi, guys.

Ricky here with Friday afternoon's Newsround.

Let's get straight to our top story, and a

huge Hurricane which landed in Florida in the USA last night.

It has been causing problems for people

who live there.

Hurricane Hermeen hit overnight, many people had to

stay indoors after putting up shutters to protect their windows.

Schools have been closed today.

The high winds and heavy rain have caused

flooding in some areas.

Over the last few hours Hurricane Hermeen has

been downgraded to a tropical storm, which means the winds are weaker.

350 years ago today the Great Fire of London started,

destroying parts of the city.

To mark the anniversary, a model replica of London will be burned,

and new stamps have been designed.

Jenny's been finding out what happened.

Your house would probably have been made out of wood.

There was no fire brigade, and chances are someone

you know had had a deadly disease called the Plague.

Then on the 2nd of September, life like this changed for ever.

A spark from a baker's oven on Pudding Lane lit a fire,

and the combination of strong wind, closely built homes and a warm

summer meant it quickly roared through the streets of London,

tearing up the timber-framed houses.

Eight out of every ten buildings were destroyed,

including 13,000 houses and 87 churches.

Six people were reported to have died and more than 70,000

Londoners were left homeless.

But the catastrophe also meant a new beginning.

It cleared the way for a brand-new city with better, cleaner buildings,

made out of stone, and the first organised fire service.

The Great Fire marked the end of medieval London and the start

of the city it is today.

Next, it's that time again.

Strictly is coming back on our screens.

We went along to a Strictly red-carpet event to meet them all.

I have got to be one of the biggest fans of the show and I will be glued

to the telly along with loads of you at home, so what do we have

to look forward to this year?

I can't wait to meet my new partner, I have had three incredible partners

I am so excited to learn to dance like that.

It is like a dream come true, I have always watched

the show, now I am in it.

Looking at the celebrities, I want to dance with all of them.

I can't wait to do my first dance.

I am looking forward to the quick movement, dramatic and stuff.

I can't wait to know who my partner is, who is it?

These 15 celebrities have their work cut out.

They have started training, so what are they most nervous about?

I will be dancing in heels.

Forgetting my dance moves, forgetting the steps.

I am nervous about falling down the steps.

There are so many steps!

It is incredibly nerve wracking for someone like me.

I am so far out of my comfort zone, it is terrifying.

The next time we see them all, they will all be in sequins.

I can't wait to see that, especially Greg Rutherford!

Take a look at this incredible 'halo' solar eclipse.

Stargazers in Africa and the French island Reunion,

were treated to a spectacular ring of fire in the sky

as the sun was almost, but not totally eclipsed.

The next one will take place in February 2017.

Now, it's probably not the thing most of you want to hear

this Friday afternoon, but lots of you will be heading back

to school next week.
