It's 8:15 this Wednesday morning.

0:00:030:00:06

I'm Jenny and you are live with CBBC for the next six minutes.

0:00:060:00:09

Coming up on Newsround...

0:00:090:00:11

The Cheese Rolling World Championship - it's BRIE-lliant!

0:00:110:00:16

Just like Cristiano Ronaldo's Champions League

0:00:160:00:18

hat-trick last night - we'll show you all three goals.

0:00:180:00:22

First, imagine how you'd feel if one of the country's top sports

0:00:310:00:34

stars walked into your assembly.

0:00:340:00:36

Shocked face emoji, right?!

0:00:360:00:39

Well, that's what happened to students at England cricket

0:00:390:00:42

captain Joe Root's old school in Yorkshire - I was there.

0:00:420:00:45

Captain Joe Root first played for England in 2012,

0:00:450:00:48

became England's vice captain in 2015, and has now scored more

0:00:480:00:51

Test runs than any other batsman in the world.

0:00:510:00:55

This is his old primary school, and he's about to surprise

0:00:560:00:59

the students at their assembly.

0:00:590:01:03

CHEERING.

0:01:030:01:08

He even got involved in a little team sport.

0:01:080:01:11

He walked into this room and I was amazed.

0:01:130:01:16

None of us were kind of expecting it.

0:01:160:01:19

It was just like a miracle, that he just walked into the room.

0:01:190:01:22

Then it was time to get a cricket lesson.

0:01:220:01:25

What's it like to be back?

0:01:250:01:26

It's brilliant.

0:01:260:01:27

I had a look round the school.

0:01:270:01:29

I found I made some brilliant friends through sport,

0:01:290:01:33

whether it be at school or away from it.

0:01:330:01:35

Hopefully that still happens with these guys here.

0:01:350:01:37

That's it, there you go.

0:01:370:01:38

It is quite difficult to watch cricket nowadays, though,

0:01:380:01:40

without having to pay a bit of money.

0:01:400:01:42

Do you think that's affected the game and what should change?

0:01:420:01:46

I think it may have had a slight effect on the game.

0:01:460:01:49

I think that the coverage that we have had has been fantastic.

0:01:490:01:52

Of course, it would be ideally available for everyone.

0:01:520:01:54

Who knows what's going to happen in the future?

0:01:540:01:57

Why should kids in the UK take up cricket?

0:01:570:01:59

I think it's great fun.

0:01:590:02:05

I've loved it from being a kid.

0:02:050:02:07

You're outside, you're part of something bigger

0:02:070:02:08

than just your own success, and for me that's really special.

0:02:080:02:11

Yeah, we've just been playing with Joe, so it's like,

0:02:110:02:13

it's a really inspiring to see that someone from the school has gone

0:02:130:02:16

somewhere really special.

0:02:160:02:19

I've learned how to hit the bat with more power,

0:02:190:02:22

and how to catch better when you're a fielder.

0:02:220:02:26

You have do show a lot of respect to others,

0:02:260:02:29

and also work your hardest.

0:02:290:02:31

It shows how far you can go when you train and train as hard

0:02:310:02:35

as you can, and just keep on doing your best.

0:02:350:02:37

Hands up who's been inspired today, who's going to be

0:02:370:02:40

a cricketer in the future?

0:02:400:02:41

Awesome!

0:02:410:02:43

Some awesome goal-scoring next.

0:02:430:02:45

Cristiano Ronaldo proved why he's one of the greatest last night,

0:02:450:02:48

by scoring a hat-trick in Real Madrid's first

0:02:480:02:50

Champions League semi-final match against Atletico Madrid.

0:02:500:02:53

Watch this.

0:02:530:02:56

COMMENTATOR: And there's the first goal, and who else

0:02:580:03:00

but the king of the Bernabeu, Cristiano Ronaldo?!

0:03:000:03:04

101st goal in the Champions League.

0:03:040:03:06

It's off Godin, Ronaldo...

0:03:060:03:08

A chance for Ronaldo, and of course he takes it!

0:03:080:03:12

Pulls it back, here's Ronaldo for the hat-trick!

0:03:120:03:17

And Cristiano Ronaldo does it again.

0:03:170:03:19

Back-to-back hat-tricks in back-to-back Champions League games.

0:03:190:03:24

Nice

0:03:280:03:28

Nice one.

0:03:280:03:29

Back here, the Prime Minister, Theresa May, is due to meet

0:03:290:03:32

the Queen at Buckingham Palace today.

0:03:320:03:33

It marks the official start of the campaign for the big vote

0:03:330:03:36

that's taking place on the 8th of June, called a general election.

0:03:360:03:39

All 650 Members of Parliament in the House of Commons no longer

0:03:390:03:42

have their jobs as MPs, as new ones are voted in next month

0:03:420:03:45

- something that's known as "dissolving Parliament".

0:03:450:03:48

You can read more about what the dissolution

0:03:480:03:50

of Parliament means, in our guide at Newsround online.

0:03:500:03:52

It'll give you some food for thought, like this next story!

0:03:520:03:56

There are many things you can do with cheese -

0:03:560:03:59

put it in a sandwich, or on a pizza perhaps.

0:03:590:04:01

Well, people in the English village of Stilton love their cheese

0:04:010:04:04

so much, they've got their own world championship to celebrate it -

0:04:040:04:09

CURD you believe!

0:04:090:04:10

Here's Martin.

0:04:100:04:12

Are you ready?

0:04:120:04:13

And they're off!

0:04:130:04:18

Rolling a wheel of cheese down the street may seem odd,

0:04:180:04:20

but not if you live in the English village of Stilton.

0:04:200:04:22

Welcome to the annual Cheese Rolling World Championships.

0:04:230:04:26

The rules are pretty simple.

0:04:260:04:30

A team has to get their cheese from the start line to the finish

0:04:300:04:33

in the quickest time, and every member of the team must

0:04:330:04:36

roll the cheese at least once during the race.

0:04:360:04:38

Easy cheesy!

0:04:380:04:40

It was started by a local business owner, to try and bring

0:04:400:04:43

more people to the area, after visitor numbers dropped

0:04:430:04:45

because of a new road.

0:04:450:04:47

Now it's maturing into an event enjoyed by hundreds every May.

0:04:470:04:54

From rolling to running, and how a new running blade

0:04:540:04:57

is making a big difference to one seven-year-old girl,

0:04:570:05:00

in the West Midlands.

0:05:000:05:01

Leah has this one.

0:05:010:05:04

Seven-year-old Macy loves sport, but until recently taking

0:05:040:05:08

part wasn't an option.

0:05:080:05:11

Macy was born with an ankle joint that didn't work,

0:05:110:05:15

so doctors decided to amputate, to give her a better

0:05:150:05:17

chance of walking.

0:05:170:05:21

At first, Macy had a plastic leg, but then she was given

0:05:210:05:23

one of these blades.

0:05:230:05:25

She's one of a few children to be given one,

0:05:250:05:28

and it's changed her life.

0:05:280:05:30

It's given her much more movement and speed.

0:05:300:05:35

She's still growing, though, and will need a new one

0:05:350:05:37

in about two years' time.

0:05:370:05:41

Although she won't definitely be given the money for a new one,

0:05:410:05:44

there's definitely no stopping Macy right now.

0:05:440:05:48

That's all from the team for now, Newsround's back on CBBC

0:05:480:05:51

this afternoon at 4.20.

0:05:510:05:52

Have a brilliant day!

0:05:520:05:56

Little Roy is on a record-breaking mission next. After school,

0:06:090:06:11

make sure you rush home because we've got our Fave At 5.

0:06:110:06:13

I will tell you what it is. It's awesome.

0:06:130:06:15

It's a brand-new episode of Jamie Johnson just for you.

0:06:150:06:18

Tell me exactly what she said.

0:06:180:06:20

I want to know all the juicy details.

0:06:200:06:23

All I know is that we're meeting in the park and she wants it to
