It's Wednesday afternoon, I'm Ricky and this is Newsround. We get inside | :00:00. | :00:08.
the heads of the countries best sports stars. And the app that could | :00:09. | :00:13.
be a flushing success. This is Newsround. First, the events | :00:14. | :00:21.
in Ukraine over the past few days have caused shockwaves around the | :00:22. | :00:24.
world. They've left many questions about what might happen next, and | :00:25. | :00:28.
how it might affect us in the UK. You've been in touch wanting to know | :00:29. | :00:32.
more, and Nel has been putting your questions to Sarah Rainsford, a BBC | :00:33. | :00:39.
reporter in Ukraine. Sarah, thank you for joining us from the Ukraine, | :00:40. | :00:43.
we have a question from Caitlin, what started the fight in Ukraine? | :00:44. | :00:48.
Well, it started really, with protestors taking to the square | :00:49. | :00:51.
because they felt their President was leading them away from the EU, a | :00:52. | :00:56.
future in Europe, and towards a few -- future with Russia, we broke off | :00:57. | :01:00.
an agreement that was going to be signed with the EU. Eventually it | :01:01. | :01:05.
turned violent and after that, interim Government was formed here, | :01:06. | :01:09.
Russia didn't like that and sent forces. And that leads me on to | :01:10. | :01:14.
another question. Why have Russia got involved? Well, it is because | :01:15. | :01:20.
Ukraine is full of different ethnicities, including a lot of | :01:21. | :01:23.
Russian speakers, here, President Putin in Moscow decided that they | :01:24. | :01:27.
needed to be protected. The Government that had taken power | :01:28. | :01:32.
here, he said it was a coup, it was an illegal seizure of power and the | :01:33. | :01:37.
Russian minority here needed to be protected. | :01:38. | :01:40.
A lot of the questions that have been coming through are similar to | :01:41. | :01:45.
what Izzy wants to know, she says will Britain become involved in the | :01:46. | :01:48.
matter? Britain isn't planning on sending troops here, the focus of | :01:49. | :01:52.
the support from Britain is economic, helping with the EU to | :01:53. | :01:57.
send money to Ukraine, to help the economy here stabilise, because it | :01:58. | :02:01.
is in a difficult situation, and also diplomatic help, from Britain, | :02:02. | :02:05.
to try to pressure Russia to take its troops off the ground, in the | :02:06. | :02:10.
Crimea, to prevent an all out war. Thank you for joining us. | :02:11. | :02:18.
And if you want to find out more about the crisis in Ukraine, head | :02:19. | :02:21.
online and check out our guide to the crisis. | :02:22. | :02:24.
Now sport. It's all about that winning feeling, and for these next | :02:25. | :02:28.
guys they've all got that - and more - in common. | :02:29. | :02:47.
Bradley Wiggins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Sam Warburton and Steven Gerrard, | :02:48. | :02:52.
all at the top of their game, and they've all worked with sports | :02:53. | :02:55.
psychologists to help them to focus their minds on victory. Steve Peters | :02:56. | :03:00.
helped some of Team GB to victory at London 2012 and he's now working | :03:01. | :03:03.
with England's footy team ahead of the World Cup. Joining me in the | :03:04. | :03:07.
studio is Damian Hughes, a sports psychologist who works with Premier | :03:08. | :03:10.
League footballers and international rugby players | :03:11. | :03:12.
Space news, and Nasa is planning an unmanned | :03:13. | :03:14.
What is the point of the sports psychologist? Well, it is like if | :03:15. | :03:20.
you were having trouble at school, you go and see your teacher, if you | :03:21. | :03:24.
didn't feel well you would see a doctor, for some stars they need | :03:25. | :03:27.
help in understanding what is going on in their mind and how they | :03:28. | :03:30.
control their thoughts and feelings. You have worked with Steve, how do | :03:31. | :03:35.
you think he will help the team? He takes some good ideas and makes them | :03:36. | :03:40.
simple. He will help them cope with the pressure and motions. Do you | :03:41. | :03:44.
think this will give England the edge? Absolutely. Every other | :03:45. | :03:47.
country will be using the sports psychologist and it is about time we | :03:48. | :03:52.
caught up. So hopefully it will help improve our team out there in | :03:53. | :03:57.
Brazil. Hope so. Next up to an app that has been | :03:58. | :04:01.
launched to help out those needing to spend a penny. The app lets | :04:02. | :04:09.
people rent out toilets in their own homes to people who are bursting for | :04:10. | :04:13.
a wee when out and about. Users can even rate their experience. One | :04:14. | :04:16.
bathroom is described as a porcelain paradise. On to space and NASA | :04:17. | :04:25.
planning an unmanned mission to Europa. #3 A robot will travel to | :04:26. | :04:30.
Europa, which space experts think could have the right conditions to | :04:31. | :04:33.
offer a home to life. Europa is slightly smaller than the Earth's | :04:34. | :04:39.
moon and has an icy surface. Sydney was hit by a storm of epic | :04:40. | :04:42.
proportions earlier today. Have a look at this. This time-lapse video | :04:43. | :04:47.
shows the storm clouds and lightening rolling in across the | :04:48. | :04:52.
harbour. It is like something off a That's all from me for now. Come | :04:53. | :04:56.
back just before 7 to see Leah's report about sugar and how you could | :04:57. | :04:59.
end up having to pay | :05:00. | :05:00. |
