Hi, guys. Hayley and Joe here at the start of another great week of

Newsround action. Coming up in a Christmas cracker of a show:

will find out what's next for this panda pair as they settle down to

life in Scotland. And we will hear from the classroom divided by the

FA Cup draw. First, to major talks about the state of our planet and

the future of the polar ice caps. World leaders are meeting this week

in South Africa to discuss what can be done about harmful emissions

that heat up the earth. They are produced by big countries and some

experts say they could cause stunning scenery like this to melt

and lead to bigger problems for the rest of us. Getting all countries

to agree on what to do is proving difficult. But one man they might

listen to is Frozen Planet presenter Sir David Attenborough.

He has been telling us why it is so important to get things sorted, and

fast. This change is happening within our life time. You can adapt

to slow change, quick change is much more difficult. The North and

South Poles form some of the most stunning scenery on our planet and

are home to some wonderful wildlife too. But all that could be under

threat because global temperatures, caused by the emission of harmful

Like the polar bear, up in the north, their lives are dependent on

the sea ice. Here, a massive iceberg breaks away from Greenland.

This happens naturally but people are worried the melting could

accelerate as production and factory work in places like China

and America cause gases to be released, that mean the Arctic and

Antarctic continue to warm up. And it is happening more quickly than

you might think. It is not just bad news for animals in that part of

the world. If the ice caps continue to melt some experts say that sea

levels could rise, and that could cause problems for the rest of the

world. We know these changes are happening. If they go on, they will

have catastrophic effects. Last week the British government

announce some of its plans to tackle climate change. They want to

increase the number of wind farms, bring in electric cars and protect

the forests. It needs a whole world to do the same. That is why

persuading China and America to cut emissions this week could have a

lasting impact for years to come. Now to a celebrity couple that have

been causing pandemonium. Sunshine and his mate, Sweetie, are the two

Giant Pandas, who arrived at Edinburgh Zoo from China yesterday.

They are the first to come to the UK for 17 years. But what does the

future hold for them in their new home? Ore's been finding out.

any celebrity worth talking about, pandas Tian Tian and Yang Guang

were greeted by excited crowds as they arrived yesterday, fresh from

their nine-hour panda express flight. The atmosphere was great

for us but it was awesome. I was thinking we could see them, but no,

they were just in the truck. After five years of negotiations, the

pandas stroll through the doors of their new �250,000 home. Sweetie

and Sunshine have two weeks to settle into their new enclosure

before going on display. With only 2000 pandas left in the world, the

zoo is hoping the pair will breed and help to boost the panda

population. Sunshine is father to over 100 pandas and Sweetie is

known as pander mum because she has had so many cups. They are a great

age for breeding. The fact is, few pandas are born in captivity.

According to the World Wildlife Fund for Nature, they are shy about

mating. They do not like to have their partners chosen for them.

There is quite a lot of pressure on the pair to make some panda babies.

David Beckham has been putting some smiles on faces during a tour of

Australia, with his team, LA Galaxy. He surprised everyone by dropping

in to surprise these kids at a Melbourne hospital. Suffice to say

they were pretty happy. David Beckham came in and said he liked

my pyjamas. Sticking with footy, and as rivalries go, it does not

get much bigger than Man City-Man United at the moment. Yesterday,

the Premier League's top two were drawn against each other in the

third round of the FA Cup. United will be looking for revenge after

October's 6-1 drubbing by their local rivals. And, even though the

game is a month away, I have been finding out just how excited the

fans are already. Manchester boasts two big clubs with one bit rivalry.

At Old Trafford, it is the reds - Manchester United. On the other

side of town, it is noisy neighbours, Manchester City. They

have both been drawn to play each other in the third round of the FA

Cup. What is it about city that will make you win? How they play.

What else? How they dribble, shoot and past. What is it about

Manchester United which means they will win? They had better

possession and better players. to head Manchester City had beaten

the Red Devils 44 times the stock United have beaten the boys in blue

67 times. City have won two league titles and United have won 19. In

the FA Cup, City have won five times and United have a won 11

times. That was the past. This is the future. They lost 6-1, the next

match they will win 7-0. Staying with football. No City or United

players have made it onto the European footballer of the Year

award. Wayne Rooney is up for the goal of the Year award. So, come on,
