This is Newsround. First, how much food gets wasted in

your home? A new report out today from a House of Lords committee says

far too much food's being thrown away across Europe each year. It

says 90 million tonnes of food is wasted annually throughout Europe,

and 15 million tonnes here in the UK. The report calls for more action

to stop the waste and says buy-one, get-one free offers in supermarkets

encourage shoppers to buy more food than we need. But not everyone

agrees that these offers are the biggest part of the problem

buy one get one free, there isn't a lot of evidence that it actually

contributes significantly to food waste. Clearly, if the retailers

have evidence that it does, and Tesco did last year on bagged salad,

they can stop those promotions. The main reasons we are wasting food,

there are two main categories, either we are cooking too much and

not using the leftovers or we are letting it go off before we use it,

so that comes down to us and the way we plan and the way we shop. The

winner of this year's series of The Voice has been crowned. Look away

Yes, Jermain beat favourite Christina Marie, Sally and Jamie in

last night's live final. The London teenager, who gets a big record deal

now, thanked will.i.am for being the "best coach ever".

amazing singer and he deserved to get this big spot!

Thanks for all those Sport now and Andy Murray has got a

massive battle on his hands as he tries to take Britain into the Semi

Finals of the Davis Cup, for the first time in 33 years. He needs to

win his singles match in play right now live on BBC Two. As you can see

from these pictures, Andy is a set down against Italy's Fabio Fognini.

It seems Murray is struggling to cope with the pressure of playing in

front of an Italian crowd. Footy and Scotland beat Poland, and

Northern Ireland lost to Sweden, in yesterday's women's Home Nations

World Cup Qualifiers. But England thrashed Montenegro 9-0, with

striker Toni Duggan scoring a magnificent hat-trick.

Next, an explosive new theatre performance is aiming to get more

kids interested in science. Banging balloons, fireballs and freezing

flowers are all part of The Energy Show at the Science Museum in

London. Here's a sneak preview. The faster the reaction, the bigger

the bank! -- Bang Do not try this at home!

. This demonstration shows the chemical reaction when you ignite a

hydrogen balloon - and the explosive result! It's one of the live

experiments that's part of The Energy Show at the Science Museum in

London. The idea is to have a lot of fun and

to learn a bit of science at the same time. Most hopefully won't have

seen musical lightning before. I had never seen it before yesterday. It

is incredible, genuine lightning in the cage. Then I wanted to go and

find out about how it all worked. The play is about two science

students trying to prove their knowledge of energy. And there's a

virtual Einstein to guide the audience through the tricky bits. I

learned that you can make lightning in your kitchen. I never knew you

would be able to do that. I thought only the sky can do it. I liked the

part when they tried to blow up the liquid nitrogen. The show is soon

going on tour across England and Wales. And the hope is that it'll

help show that science can be sparky.

Just enough time to finish with a round-up of the weirdest stories of

the week. Take it away, Nel. First up, robot police. A team of

engineers in America have developed this come about 1.5 metres tall and

has special built-in cameras so it can detect when things go wrong.

Stranger! When you get on a plane, there is usually a bit of time

before take-off, so what do you do to pass the time? If you are the

cast of the Lion King musical, you belt out a rendition of The Circle

Of Life. The Australian cast did in Brisbane when they were waiting to

take. That is I call in-flight entertainment.

Strangest! Have you ever imagined what it would be like to have

special powers? One young boy's dreams came true when his dad used

some pretty nifty special effects to turn him into a superhero. Weight!

It is all down to his dad's Daniel's skills with a computer, but

then he does work for the world-famous animations company

DreamWorks. I wonder if he could turn me into Wonder Woman?
