reports on the 70th anniversary of D-Day coming up plus new evidence

First, 70 years ago today, the biggest seaborne assault in military

The D-Day landings saw troops from Britain,

America and Canada join together in a mission to overthrow Nazi Germany

Thousands of troops lost their lives and today the last

surviving veterans are commemorating along with many others.

The anniversary of D-Day is an extremely important event.

This weekend The Queen, Prince Charles and William and Kate

will be here paying their respects for those who fought here 70 years
