a special space Newsround We'll be live in London as British

astronaut Tim Peake prepares Next month history will be made when

the first British astronaut, Tim Peake, goes to the International

Space Station for six months. This morning he'll give

his final interview in the UK How you doing? I'm at the science

Museum in London at the cosmonaut expression. Everyone is really

excited, because just bet you hours, Tim Peake is going to arrive.

This mission is a massive deal, not only his heat going to be the first

British astronaut to live and work on the International Space Station,

but he is also the first British astronaut in space for 20 years.

While he is there is going to be carrying out experiments and working

with new technology, but a big part of his mission is to get you guys

excited about space. Our reporter went to speak to some children about

whether they are going to be following in his footsteps.

Destination Space is about engaging young people with the

It's about getting people thinking about the science, the technology,

the maths and the engineering that goes into it.

This two-year Government-funded programme will take place

at 20 discovery centres across the UK, like this one in Bristol.
