Good morning! You're watching Newsround live this Wednesday | :00:00. | :00:07.
morning. I'm Ricky, with a packed show on the way. Coming up... We | :00:08. | :00:11.
meet the 95-year-old athlete who just can't stop winning gold. And it | :00:12. | :00:21.
is a huge day for cycling fans, as we get ready for the brand-new | :00:22. | :00:24.
women's race. And the cute cubs learning to swim. This is Newsround. | :00:25. | :00:29.
First - excitement is building ahead of a really exciting new sporting | :00:30. | :00:32.
event which kicks off in Britain this morning. Cycling fans around | :00:33. | :00:35.
the country are looking forward to the first ever Women's Tour of | :00:36. | :00:39.
Britain. It's five stages across five days, and some of Britain's | :00:40. | :00:42.
best cyclists like Laura Trott and Dani King will be taking part. The | :00:43. | :00:46.
racing starts later through the streets of Northampton. Earlier, we | :00:47. | :00:52.
spoke to the BBC's Nick Hope, who is there. This is a huge day for one | :00:53. | :01:00.
insert cycling. I am here at the team hotel. The riders are getting | :01:01. | :01:06.
very excited. Some of the best 100 riders in the world will be | :01:07. | :01:10.
competing in a chance for them to prove that women's races are just as | :01:11. | :01:14.
exciting as the men's. Dani King won gold at London 2012. She explains | :01:15. | :01:23.
why the Women's Tour is so exciting. It is a massive day, it is | :01:24. | :01:26.
phenomenal that we can have such a massive race in this country for | :01:27. | :01:30.
women. I am really excited about it. It is so good to see so much | :01:31. | :01:34.
coverage of women's bicycle racing, and that is what has made the | :01:35. | :01:36.
difference. Next - it's been on a mega-tour of | :01:37. | :01:41.
Commonwealth countries round the world, and now the Queen's baton | :01:42. | :01:45.
will be met by Tom Daley when it arrives back on British soil on | :01:46. | :01:48.
Sunday. Jersey in the Channel Islands will be the baton's first | :01:49. | :01:51.
home nation stop after a 288-day journey through the Commonwealth, | :01:52. | :01:54.
ahead of the Glasgow Games. The hand-crafted baton contains a | :01:55. | :01:56.
personal message from the Queen calling the athletes of the | :01:57. | :01:59.
Commonwealth to Glasgow for the start of the Games. | :02:00. | :02:02.
Next, you don't see many Premier League footballers tearing around | :02:03. | :02:07.
the pitch past the age of 35. Swimmers tend to stop racing in | :02:08. | :02:10.
their 20s, and gymnasts peak in their teens. But age is definitely | :02:11. | :02:14.
no barrier for this next sporting legend. At 95, Olga Kotelko has 750 | :02:15. | :02:18.
gold medals in track and field events. And the Canadian golden girl | :02:19. | :02:24.
shows no signs of stopping. Nel has this one. | :02:25. | :02:33.
This is Olga Kotelko. I have over 750 gold medals, and in my last age | :02:34. | :02:46.
group, which was 90-94, I made 26 world records. The 95-year-old only | :02:47. | :02:52.
took up athletics at the age of 77. Now she holds every track and field | :02:53. | :02:57.
world record for her age group in the 100 metres, the 200 metres, the | :02:58. | :03:02.
high jump and the long jump, and that is not all. Shot put, discus, | :03:03. | :03:10.
javelin, hammer and weight. What makes her such a champ? Muscles get | :03:11. | :03:17.
weaker with age, especially after the age of 60. But scientists found | :03:18. | :03:22.
that her muscle fibres were much stronger than those of an average | :03:23. | :03:26.
95-year-old. But it is not just biology. You are aspiring to do | :03:27. | :03:35.
better, that is how you grow. And Olga has no plans to retire. I just | :03:36. | :03:41.
want to keep on going, and I will keep on going until I drop. | :03:42. | :03:45.
You've been on the Newsround website this morning telling us about your | :03:46. | :03:48.
amazing sporting grandparents. Dan in Leicester says... | :03:49. | :04:03.
17-time Grand Slam Champion Roger Federer is celebrating the arrival | :04:04. | :04:09.
of another set of twins! The tennis star tweeted... | :04:10. | :04:18.
Roger Federer pulled out of this week's Madrid Masters tournement to | :04:19. | :04:23.
be with his family. The pair already have twin girls. Next - we all know | :04:24. | :04:35.
that cats aren't massive fans of water. But these four little African | :04:36. | :04:41.
lion cubs looked like they were having a fun time splashing around | :04:42. | :04:44.
at their zoo in Washington in America. It's zoo rules that all | :04:45. | :04:48.
lions, tigers and other big cats learn to swim to keep them safe when | :04:49. | :04:51.
they're just weeks old. The four paddled and swam like true experts! | :04:52. | :04:56.
Have a great day. Bye-bye. | :04:57. | :04:59. |
