Good morning, I'm Hayley and I'm

live with all you need

to know this morning.

The kids on a mission to ban

plastic straws in Scotland.

The skater from Saudi

skating the world by storm.

And the highest party in the world.

It's thought here in the UK

we use more than 8 billion

plastic straws every year.

So a group of kids in Scotland

are on a mission to get them banned.

It's because they want to help

protect our planet and cut

the amount of plastic that

gets thrown away.

Whitney has this...

They've already convinced

Glasgow Council, the biggest

in Scotland to ditch

plastic straws but their mission

doesn't stop there.

These kids are taking

the ferry to the Isle of

Arran.

Around 5000 people live there

and they want them to quit using

them too.

There is, like, animals out

there in danger because they are

eating plastic.

What do you hope to do

with this campaign?

Try and stop plastic

straws from being used.

And start using, like, paper straws.

It's our future and

we need to make sure

that it's not all gone

when we grow up.

They call themselves

the Ocean Defenders.

A lot of plastic when

it's thrown away ends

up in the sea.

It can stay there for hundreds

of years because it doesnt

rot like a paper straw would.

This means it's harmful to both

animals and the environment.

They're talking to

other kids about what

they're doing so they

can do the same.

I hadn't really thought about it

but now the presentation has

taught me a lot more about it,

it's very different now.

I think the most surprising

and interesting thing is

how much this does

affect the environment.

You wouldn't expect that from wee,

tiny plastic straws.

We could speak to some

of the cafes on the island

because I know a lot

of

the cafes sell plastic straws

so if we could maybe get them

to change to paper straws it

would be really

good.

We're trying to make people stop

expecting a straw in their

drink.

They are so knowledgeable

and they're really confident and

passionate, the way they speak.

Next, meet the extreme ice

skater from Saudi Arabia -

who's moved to Liverpool in England

to share his incredible skating

skills with the world.

Growing in Saudi Arabia you don't

really see much ice.

When I came I first came

to Liverpool people

doesn't expect someone

from an Arabic country to come

and present something new.

I got into ice skating

when my sister started

ice-skating as figure skater

when we were young and since then

I started going there with her.

Every time I go the coach

would see me trying to do flips

even though I was small

and I started watching

aggressive skating and line

skating and nobody knew

there was

something in the middle called

extreme where you could just jump,

break dance.

It's a physical sport.

You train your hands, your legs,

your blood circulation, it

helps your fitness wise,

it helps in your confidence

once you get used to it,

the first basic thing I tell

everybody that's never

skated, your mind is your

boundaries, try a jump,

if

you don't like it, try footwork,

you don't like it, try

spinning, you don't

like it, you got brakes.

I would love to go to the Olympics,

my dream at the end is to

reach if I can to the best

ice skater, extreme ice

skater in the world.

That is amazing!

Exciting news for

England football fans.

The team has launched the kit

they'll be hoping to wear

on their way to World Cup victory

in Russia later this year.

The new home kit is white with blue

shorts and a red trim.

The away kit is red

with white shorts -

similar to the one worn by England

during their famous

1966 World Cup victory.

This plane is usually used

by astronauts to help them

experience what it's

like being without gravity in space.

But a big group of people have found

another use for it.

They're having a party

with no gravity!

People from all over the world got

picked for the 90 minute party.

And there were music and lights

and they all seemed to love

floating around just for fun.

It's hilarious, I'm super thankful.

I just want to do it again

and again and again.

It was insane, so crazy.

Just floating upside down!
