12-year-old Silvia, from Oxford, is inspired by Violet Palmer, | 0:00:47 | 0:00:51
the first woman to be an NBA referee, saying, | 0:00:51 | 0:00:56
"Although sometimes | 0:00:56 | 0:00:57
it was hard, she ignored all the comments that | 0:00:57 | 0:00:59
were made to push her down." | 0:00:59 | 0:01:01

for total space walks by a woman, and most space walk | 0:01:05 | 0:01:08

She also said, "The children's writer, Jacqueline Wilson, | 0:01:13 | 0:01:15
has inspired me to write more, because I love her books." | 0:01:15 | 0:01:18
Thank you everyone for your comments. | 0:01:18 | 0:01:22
Next, to a football world first. | 0:01:22 | 0:01:24
Kids from across Europe have come together for a | 0:01:24 | 0:01:26
special training camp, for young amputee footballers. | 0:01:26 | 0:01:30
Leah went to Ireland to check it out. | 0:01:30 | 0:01:35
It's fast, it's fun. | 0:01:35 | 0:01:36
It's football but not as you know it. | 0:01:36 | 0:01:40
Welcome to the world of amputee football. | 0:01:40 | 0:01:44
More than 40 kids from across Europe are here | 0:01:44 | 0:01:46
to Dublin in Ireland for a special football amputee training academy, | 0:01:46 | 0:01:51
the first of its kind. | 0:01:51 | 0:01:53
Amputee football is really fun and you enjoy playing | 0:01:53 | 0:01:57
with your friends. | 0:01:57 | 0:01:58
I'm a goalkeeper and I love to block the balls because because you feel | 0:01:58 | 0:02:01
an experience of power. | 0:02:01 | 0:02:02
I've enjoyed all of it, the training, the playing matches. | 0:02:02 | 0:02:05
Coming in here, seeing other people like you, | 0:02:05 | 0:02:10
you just feel more confident. | 0:02:10 | 0:02:12
It makes me feel like the best player in the world. | 0:02:12 | 0:02:16
Amputee football is a sport | 0:02:16 | 0:02:18
played with seven players on each team. | 0:02:18 | 0:02:20
Outfield players may have two hands but only one leg, | 0:02:20 | 0:02:24
whereas the goalies may have two feet but only one hand. | 0:02:24 | 0:02:29
11-year-old Sean from Ireland was born with a condition that | 0:02:29 | 0:02:31
affected both his arms and his right leg. | 0:02:31 | 0:02:34
He says amputee football has helped him in many ways. | 0:02:34 | 0:02:38
This is a child's life long dream, whether you have something like this | 0:02:38 | 0:02:41
or a leg problem, to become a footballer. | 0:02:41 | 0:02:45
The coaches then say no. | 0:02:45 | 0:02:51
The amputee football says yes. | 0:02:51 | 0:02:52
Most of the stuff I do I'm scared to do, | 0:02:52 | 0:02:54
my operations, or even showing my class this, | 0:02:54 | 0:02:59
I always do it and every time I do it, I feel good afterwards. | 0:02:59 | 0:03:03
Organisers believe that the juniors playing here are the future | 0:03:03 | 0:03:05
of the sport. | 0:03:05 | 0:03:07
Our main goal is to get them to the Paralympics, | 0:03:07 | 0:03:10
and we look around here today and we say, look, | 0:03:10 | 0:03:12
some of those young amputees now playing, | 0:03:12 | 0:03:14
hopefully in eight, 16 years' time, they will be household names | 0:03:14 | 0:03:18
and going to the Paralympics. | 0:03:18 | 0:03:21
With more events like this one being organised in the UK | 0:03:21 | 0:03:24
and Ireland, it looks like amputee football has a bright future. | 0:03:24 | 0:03:31
There are less than six months to go until the Paralympic Games start | 0:03:31 | 0:03:33
in Rio, in Brazil. | 0:03:33 | 0:03:35
Hannah Cockcroft is one of Team GB's medal hopefuls. | 0:03:35 | 0:03:38
So we sent Martin to put her knowledge about the games | 0:03:38 | 0:03:40
to the test. | 0:03:40 | 0:03:42
C, and that's for cycling. | 0:03:42 | 0:03:44
Cycling, OK. | 0:03:44 | 0:03:45
Do you know the name of the cycling venue | 0:03:45 | 0:03:47
at the Rio 2016 games? | 0:03:47 | 0:03:50
No, I've no idea! | 0:03:50 | 0:03:54
You'll have to find out the answer by watching online, | 0:03:54 | 0:03:56
where you can see exactly how Hannah got on. | 0:03:56 | 0:03:59
OK, meet R2-D2 and C-3PO. | 0:03:59 | 0:04:02
Two little seal pups who are the first of their kind | 0:04:02 | 0:04:04
in the world. | 0:04:04 | 0:04:05
They're twins, born from the same mum at the same time, | 0:04:05 | 0:04:08
which is surprising because it was thought | 0:04:08 | 0:04:09
that grey seals couldn't have twin babies. | 0:04:09 | 0:04:12
Now they're being looked after at a sanctuary in Norfolk, | 0:04:12 | 0:04:15
after proving all the scientists wrong. | 0:04:15 | 0:04:18
We contacted various institutions in the country, | 0:04:18 | 0:04:21
and they said absolutely impossible, twin seals could never | 0:04:21 | 0:04:24
be born to a grey seal. | 0:04:24 | 0:04:26
So I sent their details up to Norway, and Norway | 0:04:26 | 0:04:28
have come back with this wonderful news that they are in fact | 0:04:28 | 0:04:32
twin seals and we are absolutely delighted. | 0:04:32 | 0:04:37
That's all from the team today, but Newsround is back | 0:04:37 | 0:04:39
tomorrow morning at 7.40am with Hayley. | 0:04:39 | 0:04:42
Have a brilliant evening. | 0:04:42 | 0:04:43
And don't forget to go online where you can test yourself | 0:04:43 | 0:04:46
with our super tricky quiz of the week. | 0:04:46 | 0:04:48
Bet you can't get ten out of 10! | 0:04:48 | 0:04:53 |
