cross Antarctica. Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, has

announced after 26 years in charge of the most successful club in

England he's retiring at the end of the season. Already big names around

the world, including Christiano Ronaldo are reacting and reflecting

on what has been a remarkable reign. Sir Alex, the most successful

manager in the history of the British game. Manchester United

manager for more than 26 years. Winning an incredible 38 trophies

for the club, including 13 League titles, five FA Cups, four League

Cups and the Champions League twice. This is what he looked like back in

1986, arriving for his first game in charge. But the fans had to wait

four years for his first trophy, the 1990 FA Cup. In 1999, they became

the only English team to win the famous League, FA Cup and Champions

League treble and he still had time for clashes with some big-name

players off the pitch, famously getting rid of David Beckham during

a row. There have been five Prime Ministers, 12 England managers and

19 different Manchester City bosses, but he's not leaving the club

entirely and will become a director and ambassador.

Such a great career, and so much success and plenty of reactions to

the decision. The Prime Minister has said Ferguson's record was

exceptional. Michael Owen said he was the world's best manager, adding

Manchester United without him doesn't seem right and Christiano

Ronaldo, who was a player for Manchester United, tweeted, " Thanks

for everything, boss." I've had a season ticket for two years and it's

quite shocking that he's left, so I'm pretty devastated. He's been

ling them for so many years and he has shown how good a manager he can

be. I don't think he can be dept. The best in the world. -- topped.

Alex Ferguson retiring. A big shock to everyone. Joining me now is

next? Well, Leah, David Moyes is looking increasingly likely to be

the successor. He's currently the Everton boss and he's been at

Goodison for 12 years and given that Sir Alex Ferguson has been here for

26 years, you can tell that loyalty is very important to the bosses here

at Old Trafford. Jose Mourinho's name was also in the frame. He used

to manage Chelsea. He has gone over to Real Madrid, so he has real

experience in managing top European football, which is what Manchester

United want to continue doing in the years ahead, something that perhaps

David Moyes hasn't had much experience in, but he's the front

runner when it comes to replacing Sir Alex and the club say they want

to make an announcement before the weekend. On Sunday, he will lead out

the team against Swansea at home. What happens after that and in the

plans for the year ahead. The Queen read them out in her annual speech

to mark the State Opening of Parliament. A big ceremony that like

the start of a new school term for politicians. Prince Charles and his

wife attended the ceremony for the first time in 17 years. They planned

to impose tough new rules from people from foreign countries coming

to live in the UK. The plans have to be approved by Parliament before

becoming the law. The Queen also said that the Government's first

priority would be to improve the UK's money problems. My Lords and
