this Thursday. On the way. Manchester City move a big step

:00:09.:00:13.

closer to becoming champions. Scientists show how the universe

:00:14.:00:16.

evolved, with an amazing computer animation.

:00:17.:00:24.

Six months ago today, one of the most powerful typhoons ever recorded

:00:25.:00:28.

tore into the Philippines in south'east Asia. Typhoon Haiyan left

:00:29.:00:33.

some parts of islands completely flattened. More than 6,000 people

:00:34.:00:38.

died. Millions were left homeless. Leah's been looking into how the

:00:39.:00:40.

country's coping half a year on. On eighth November 2013, Typhoon

:00:41.:00:50.

Haiyan hit the Philippines. Powerful winds, some as strong as 200 miles

:00:51.:00:56.

an hour, ripped through the islands. The storm left parts of country

:00:57.:01:01.

devastated. I travelled to the island of Cebu in November and saw

:01:02.:01:04.

for myself just how much damage had been done. This is what's left of

:01:05.:01:11.

the house they had. There's nothing left but wood. Countries around the

:01:12.:01:15.

world were quick to step in, sending aid to the millions of people

:01:16.:01:19.

affected. The UK even sent a warship, HMS Illustrious, to deliver

:01:20.:01:22.

supplies. Local people and aid agencies began the clean'up

:01:23.:01:29.

operation. But it was, and continues to be, a huge task. Today, life is

:01:30.:01:36.

beginning to get back to normal. The streets are busy with people and

:01:37.:01:39.

cars, and some shops are open. But many people are still living in

:01:40.:01:44.

tents or shacks. We're looking now at moving them into longer term

:01:45.:01:49.

housing, durable housing. We're rebuilding schools that were blown

:01:50.:01:54.

over. We're not there yet but people have shelter, people have food,

:01:55.:01:59.

people have clean water. Children in the Philippines are extraordinarily

:02:00.:02:02.

resilient. They're getting on with their lives. They're building back

:02:03.:02:06.

their lives and they just want to get on with it. They want to move

:02:07.:02:10.

past a really terrible event and hang out with their friends and play

:02:11.:02:14.

with their friends, do like any kid likes to do. But many people did

:02:15.:02:17.

lose everything, not just their homes but their jobs too. The next

:02:18.:02:21.

step is helping them get back into work so they and their families can

:02:22.:02:33.

live without relying on aid. And don't forget you can still watch

:02:34.:02:36.

Leah's special reports from the Philippines when she travelled there

:02:37.:02:39.

shortly after the typhoon hit. You'll also find a picture gallery

:02:40.:02:43.

of the children she met while she was out there. Manchester City have

:02:44.:02:46.

one hand on the Premier League trophy, now, following last night's

:02:47.:02:49.

4-0 win over Aston Villa. Edin Dzeko scored twice but the pick of the

:02:50.:02:53.

goals was this solo effort from Yaya Toure. It was Manchester City's

:02:54.:02:56.

100th league goal of the season. They are now two points clear of

:02:57.:03:00.

Liverpool with one game to play and have a better goal difference. Now

:03:01.:03:03.

we can talk about the title. Before this game I was just thinking we

:03:04.:03:09.

must win the last game at home. We are not thinking of drawing. We are

:03:10.:03:18.

just thinking on trying to play. If we play in that way maybe we can win

:03:19.:03:23.

the title. At the other end of the table, Sunderland have made an

:03:24.:03:26.

incredible escape from relegation with a 2-0 win against West Brom.

:03:27.:03:29.

First-half goals from Jack Colback and Fabio Borini make it four wins

:03:30.:03:34.

in a row. Less than a month ago Sunderland were bottom of the table

:03:35.:03:37.

and seven points from safety. Manager Gus Poyet says now he can

:03:38.:03:46.

start believing in miracles. It was an incredible escape. It was a

:03:47.:03:52.

miracle, it was something unique, it was something special. The

:03:53.:03:55.

connection on the pitch between the players in the last few games in an

:03:56.:03:58.

incredible way. Connection with the fans every single game in an

:03:59.:04:01.

incredible way. There's only one result - win football games. ??

:04:02.:04:06.

WHITE Next, a team of international scientists has recreated the birth

:04:07.:04:09.

and growth of the Universe in their lab. The computer model shows how

:04:10.:04:13.

the first galaxies formed around clumps of a mysterious, invisible

:04:14.:04:15.

substance called dark matter, squeezing 14 billion years into just

:04:16.:04:22.

two-and-a-half minutes. It's the first time the Universe has been

:04:23.:04:25.

modelled so extensively and in such great quality. And now some news of

:04:26.:04:31.

a change of name for the home of this guy. The giant dinosaur that

:04:32.:04:34.

has pride of place in the Central hall of London's Natural History

:04:35.:04:38.

Museum. The Hall will be renamed the Hintze Hall after the couple who

:04:39.:04:41.

have given a huge ?5 million donation. It's the largest single

:04:42.:04:45.

donation in the museum's history, and will be used to maintain

:04:46.:04:48.

collections and for scientific research behind the scenes. I will

:04:49.:05:01.

see you in half an hour. Bye bye.
