Superstar spaceman Chris Hadfield answers your questions. We meet

Bridget, the next rover to be sent to Mars. And I'm at the BRIT Awards

nominations party waiting to hear who's up for what.

First, they look like special effects, but they're one of the most

stunning light shows in the world. And tonight, we've got the best

chance in years of seeing the Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis

for ourselves in the UK. The stunning colourful lightshow is

usually only visible much further north. It occurs naturally and

lights up the sky in these amazing fluorescent colours. It's thought

the Lights could be seen here tonight because the sun's been

throwing out some super-powerful particles recently, which is how

their creation starts. We're going space crazy on Newsround today

because we've been speaking to everyone's favourite spaceman, Chris

Hadfield. But he wasn't answering our questions. Oh, no. This time, it

was over to you. One viewer, Sebastian, wanted to know, can you

have pets in space? My pets, we have two dogs. They are still on earth.

They would love to be with me, I am sure, wherever I go but right now

they are back home. And we're all over space on the Newsround website

a super-cool new Mars Rover. Yes, Ayshah's been checking out a new

rover, just like the one which will actually go to the Red Planet in

2014. It will look at whether there could be life on Mars. This is

Bridget, the prototype Mars rover. It has been built in the UK by my

company, air bus defence and space. It is the first time Europe has done

a Mars rover. What can she do? All kinds of things. We can drill two

metres below the surface and look for organisms, little bugs and

things, which might still be living down there. Can you show me a bit of

what she can do? We need to be able to go whether any kind of to rain.

All kinds of rock and sand, all those kinds of things. We have taken

had to Tenerife because there is a volcano and it is sandy and rocky

and a bit like Mars. One of our projects coming up is to the icy

moons of Jupiter. We think there might be liquid water in the middle

of those moons. There might be big seas where things are still living.

That is really exciting. Next, some of pop's biggest stars are gathering

in London to find out who's nominated for a BRIT Award. One

Direction could be up for a prize after their album Midnight Memories

became the fastest selling album in two years but they'll have tough

competition from Ellie Goulding, her album Halcyon just topped the chart

a year after it was first released. Let's go live to the red carpet in

London where Martin has all the latest. The BRIT Awards are one of

the biggest nights for pop stars and fans to celebrate the best in

British music. The short list will not be revealed until 6pm tonight. I

have already heard that artists such as Jesse J, tiny temper and

rudimentary are here tonight. They are among the hot favourites to be

nominated. I have Colin Paterson, who does the showbiz for BBC. Who do

you think will be nominated? Look out for the young groups like

Bastille. The Home album could be nominated. And the brother Juno,

Disclosure. And it will be strange if One Direction do not get one or

two things. How big is it for these guys to get their hands on a BRIT

Award? If you can go on a chat show in the States and they go, Brit

winners from the UK, that is how much it can change people 's

careers. I am going to stick around to see who the Martin will be back

with those nominations at 6:50pm. Big contenders are. If you're
