Kevin Simm is crowned the winner of The Voice.

And the search for Sam the dog, lost from space, continues.

Kevin Simm has won the The Voice in the final series on BBC One

Simm impressed with his version of the winner's song,

titled All You Good Friends, and his earlier performance

He beat fellow Team Ricky contestant Jolan for the victory.

Boy George's Cody and will.i.am's Lydia Lucy went out first

after securing the fewest public votes in the finals.

The people behind the hit show, which airs all over the world,

have created their first Afghan character.

Meeting Zari. Afghan Sesame Street's new character. I am excited to be

here! Her name means shimmering in Afghanistan's two official

languages. The makers of the show, who lived in Kabul, say they felt it

was important to make sure's first Afghan character a girl due to the

way women and girls are treated in the country under the country's bold

leadership. Women were banned from working and girls were not allowed

to go to school. Now the total number of children at school in

Afghanistan has risen from 900,000 in 2001, to 8.3 million in 2011.

Great progress in the country, which has been at war for almost 40 years.

But although a lot has improved for children today, many girls still

face difficulties. It is hoped Zari will help make a positive difference

to kids in the country. It's our favourite story

Next to the eight-year-old boy who's spent the last three years writing

Toby started sending letters to countries thousands of miles

away and never expecting to get any replies.

780 letters later, this is his story.

My name is Tobi and I am eight years old. I like space and film-making.

Three years ago I asked my mum to help me with the project. I read a

book and wanted to speak to people around the world to find out what

their lives were like. I started writing letters to places like the

South Pole and got a response. Just before my sixth birthday, I got a

response back from the South Pole and I even got a happy birthday

banner. I have written nearly 800 letters and it has been really good.

And the most exciting thing happened. All the letters have been

turned into this book. People send me fridge magnets, pop-up books and

even spices. But they also include what their lives are like and what

school is like. So, I do love all my responses. I have received over 300

letters! This just shows you can make friends all over the world.

Finally, spectators in China were treated to a spectacle

Zhang Shupeng jumped from a helicopter 2,000 metres high,

and flew over the 50-metre-long Yunduan glass covered bridge.

The wingsuit has special fabric under the arms and between the legs

to let the wearer glide through the air
