Get ready as we launch our Tim Peake countdown into space.

And the grumpiest cat in the world gets a double!

First this morning, heavy rain has caused more flooding in parts

of Cumbria in the North West of England.

A river in the village of Glenrriding has burst its banks

for the second time this week.

The army as well as police and fire fighters helped to move

people to safety.

BBC's Fiona Trott has sent us this report from Appleby where they're

keeping a close watch on the river.

There was 40 millimetres of rain overnight, that's about an inch

and a half and you can see what that's done to the river level

here in Appleby.

It's almost reaching the pavement.

And all these floods here in Cumbria are having a devastating effect

on local businesses.

Let me show you this shop here.

They've had to throw everything out, look at those cupboards,

shelves, fridge freezers, everything taken out and left

here on the streets.

Let me show you this too, a huge mountain of fizzy drinks,

crisps, chewing gum, milk, all gone to waste.

All of the things that were inside the shop probably cost

thousands of pounds.

But there's nothing that they can do because all of this now

is contaminated by the flood water.

So, the clean-up operation continues here in Appleby this morning

but everybody is keeping a very close eye on that river level.

Now, you might not expect to see penguins on the beach,

but in South Africa that is exactly where they live.

But their numbers have been falling.

Here's Jenny to explain why.

African penguins only live on the West Coast

of South Africa and Namibia.

They are pretty cool characters who happily swim amongst humans

and share the beach with sunbathers.

They are very sociable animals too.

A pair of penguins bond for life and go on to have chicks.

However, the number of African penguin pairs has dropped

from about 32,000 in 2004 to just over 3,000 in 2014.

The decline is fairly rapid.

If you think back to 1930, there were 1 million breeding pairs.

So we have lost 98% of the original population.

Experts think this is because the sardines and anchovies

they feed on are disappearing, leaving the penguins starving.

A combination of overfishing and climate change is thought to be

at fault, as the sea becomes too warm for the fish the penguins eat

to survive in.

Conservation experts are trying to develop colonies closer

to the Southern waters the fish have moved to so the penguins

are able to breed.

We're obviously doing everything we can to release as many pairs back

into the wild but the concern is it's not slowing down.

Something needs to be done fast if we want to try and save these

plucky penguins and other animals at risk of extinction

as the planet warms up.

We've been asking what you guys thought about a ban by the Football

Association.

They're stopping newspapers and websites from reporting scores

from under 11s matches.

They said it was in case it caused upset to the losing teams.

Here's what some of you had to say.

Ten-year-old Lara said, I think that football should be

competitive because that's what football is all about!

Stanley from Glasgow says, I don't like losing but I don't feel

bad about it.

It's all part of the game of football.

Koda who's 12 said, my little brother can get upset if his team

loses and it's published in the school newsletter.

To football now and it was a pretty good night for English clubs

in the Champions league last night.

Chelsea won 2-0 against Portugese side Porto.

And Arsenal will also be heading through to the next stage

of the competition after beating Greek side Olympiakos 3-0.

That's the 16th season in a row that the Gunners have

made it to the last 16.

It is a special night for us, because as we said before the game,

we are in escape mode, before the game.

And we needed something special, and when you can deliver something

special, you can create a positive memory for the rest of the team.

Swansea are looking for a new manager this morning

after Garry Monk was sacked yesterday.

He'd been in charge for just 22 months.

The club are currently just one point above the relegation zone.

British astronaut Tim Peake blasts off for outer space in just five

days, so here at Newsround we're counting down the days with our list

of top five facts about the UK's number one space-man.

Tim Peake had to do a special five-week course learning how

to spacewalk in a space suit.

And to another story of a cat but a very grumpy one.

The famous grumpy cat kitty has been to Madame Tussauds in San Francisco

for the uneveiling of her very own lookalike.

But instead of being made out of wax, she's been made

as a mechanical figure that can lift her head and even purr.

Of course, the real grumpy cat didn't look too impressed by it all.
