Hi there, Martin here. It's nearly lunchtime and I'm live with | :00:00. | :00:08.
Newsround. We have a packed show for you. Coming up: The plane that | :00:09. | :00:16.
surprised holiday-makers by landing on a beach. | :00:17. | :00:22.
And we speak to the man who's just spent 18 months in Brazil filming | :00:23. | :00:32.
wild animals. It's Saturday, it's a big football | :00:33. | :00:35.
day and a very big one for Manchester United. The team is under | :00:36. | :00:38.
huge amounts of pressure after losing their last three matches. | :00:39. | :00:41.
Wayne Rooney who is out injured has used social media to urge United | :00:42. | :00:45.
fans to keep backing their team. It's been a very difficult time for | :00:46. | :00:48.
new manager David Moyes. The last time United lost four games in a row | :00:49. | :00:53.
was more than 50 years ago. And they do not want to set a new record. So | :00:54. | :00:57.
he's hoping for a win today against Swansea, the same team that knocked | :00:58. | :01:01.
them out of the FA Cup a week ago. It's just another game, I know it is | :01:02. | :01:04.
against the same opponents, but it is a chance to get yourself playing | :01:05. | :01:10.
well again. If you're not winning, that can affect your confidence. It | :01:11. | :01:15.
plays a big part in football. It can happen. But we will try to get back | :01:16. | :01:18.
in winning ways and get those three points. | :01:19. | :01:26.
After a week of extreme weather across parts of the UK there are | :01:27. | :01:29.
reports of even more flooding on its way. People living in parts of | :01:30. | :01:33.
Southern England are being warned by the Environment Agency that swollen | :01:34. | :01:35.
rivers means floodwaters could rise even further. There will be a brief | :01:36. | :01:39.
rest from the rain today but 88 flood warnings are still in place | :01:40. | :01:42.
across England and Wales. Today marks 60 years since the very | :01:43. | :01:45.
first BBC TV weather presenter appeared on our screens. Back then | :01:46. | :01:48.
they used maps drawn with pencils and even sticky labels. It was a lot | :01:49. | :01:58.
more difficult to get it right then and forecasters were often blamed | :01:59. | :02:01.
for bad weather. But thanks to technology moving things on, a lot | :02:02. | :02:04.
has changed. Here's BBC weatherman Simon King with a rundown of how | :02:05. | :02:07.
things work today. In those days they didn't have | :02:08. | :02:11.
computers or advanced technology so they used to have to draw the pewter | :02:12. | :02:17.
maps -- weather maps. They could only really forecast one day ahead. | :02:18. | :02:22.
Technology has changed massively. We've got computers and satellite | :02:23. | :02:25.
information to predict the weather up to five days ahead and also some | :02:26. | :02:29.
fancy graphics that we use on the TV. We forecast all across the world | :02:30. | :02:39.
and the BBC weather centre now produces over 100 national | :02:40. | :02:42.
broadcasts every day, compared to one a day back in 1964. | :02:43. | :02:58.
Now imagine the sort of job where you get to hang out with otters, | :02:59. | :03:01.
groups of monkeys and jaguars, watching their every move and | :03:02. | :03:04.
capturing them on film. Sounds great, doesn't it? Well, Adam White | :03:05. | :03:07.
here is a TV producer who's just spent months filming wild animals in | :03:08. | :03:11.
Brazil for a new show called Wild Brazil. Why did you chose Brazil as | :03:12. | :03:16.
the country to film him? 2014 is the year of Brazil. We got | :03:17. | :03:21.
the World Cup and Brazil has some incredible wildlife. | :03:22. | :03:23.
How did you pick what animals to follow? | :03:24. | :03:29.
We've chosen a few characters. We have got giant otters which are two | :03:30. | :03:38.
metres long. We've got monkeys that do so much fun stuff that you only | :03:39. | :03:43.
need to look at them to see why we chose them. They are quite common in | :03:44. | :03:54.
Brazil and quite mysterious -- mischievous. | :03:55. | :03:57.
And a Newsround viewer has asked this one: Diamond from County Durham | :03:58. | :04:01.
says, which animal was the hardest to film? | :04:02. | :04:05.
Jaguars. We had to film about ten miles of river bank And Isabelle | :04:06. | :04:09.
from Aberdeenshire wonders are the monkeys you filmed with endangered? | :04:10. | :04:11.
Just to catch sight of them. There are lots of people in Brazil | :04:12. | :04:23.
who care passionately about wildlife and who are trying to make things | :04:24. | :04:25.
better. Thank you for coming in. Now, when | :04:26. | :04:40.
you're relaxing on the beach the last thing you expect to see is a | :04:41. | :04:44.
plane coming into land. But that's exactly what happened on | :04:45. | :04:47.
this beach in New Zealand. Pilots had to make an emergency landing | :04:48. | :04:50.
after a engine problem. They then tried to take off again but got | :04:51. | :04:54.
caught in the surf. Luckily nobody was injured. They were just a bit | :04:55. | :04:57.
embarrassed. And they had to get a bit of help to get the plane out of | :04:58. | :05:02.
the water. People there were pretty surprised. | :05:03. | :05:03.
All we saw was a plane coming towards us. | :05:04. | :05:04.
Everybody stopped and scared. That plane is going to crash on the | :05:05. | :05:06.
beach. Everybody ran. | :05:07. | :05:16.
The third series of The Voice starts tonight with two brand new coaches, | :05:17. | :05:19.
Kylie Minogue and Ricky Wilson from the Kaiser Chiefs. But what can we | :05:20. | :05:23.
expect from this year? Here's Will.i.am. | :05:24. | :05:25.
I thought all the good singers were going to want to come to me and Tom. | :05:26. | :05:29.
She has incredible singers on her team. | :05:30. | :05:36.
And Ricky is a revelation. The dynamic is warmer between the | :05:37. | :05:47.
coaches. It is more of a family by. If you like The Voice, then head | :05:48. | :05:50.
over to the Newsround website to test your knowledge on new coach | :05:51. | :05:53.
Kylie Minogue. We've also got amazing pictures of a volcanic | :05:54. | :05:56.
eruption in Indonesia. And the strangest stories of the week. | :05:57. | :05:59.
That's all from me, Newsround's back right here at 1:55pm. | :06:00. | :06:01. |
