Hi, I'm Leah and this is Newsround live on CBBC. | :00:00. | :00:08.
The Vikings are back in York, but don't worry! | :00:09. | :00:14.
And check out the largest maze in Spain. | :00:15. | :00:24.
But first this morning, around 51,000 children | :00:25. | :00:26.
able to join the scouts, beavers or cubs. | :00:27. | :00:30.
there's a big shortage of volunteers in areas like Surrey, | :00:31. | :00:35.
It means waiting lists can't fall unless more adults join | :00:36. | :00:39.
They also say those who are signed up currently aren't able | :00:40. | :00:43.
One of Britain's biggest tourist attractions, | :00:44. | :01:00.
the Jorvik Centre in York, has reopened again over a year | :01:01. | :01:03.
after it was forced to close because of flooding. | :01:04. | :01:05.
We sent Ricky up for the reopening and to find out about it. | :01:06. | :01:14.
MUSIC ... And this is the Jorvik Centre, one of the most popular | :01:15. | :01:26.
museums and visitor attractions in the UK. It is all about these guys, | :01:27. | :01:31.
Vikings. They are finally reopening the doors after severe flooding | :01:32. | :01:37.
forced it to close down. When those floodwaters came in there was | :01:38. | :01:41.
nowhere for the water to escape. In some parts of the museum it was | :01:42. | :01:45.
about one metre high, causing a lot of damage. But look at it today. | :01:46. | :01:51.
What happened back in December 2015? Most of us were at home enjoying | :01:52. | :01:55.
Christmas and I got a call to say water was coming in the back door. | :01:56. | :02:00.
We called in the conservation team, the collections team, to come and | :02:01. | :02:05.
get all the objects out. There are 1000 objects here and we had to get | :02:06. | :02:09.
them to safety. Luckily, everything in the museum was saved. Some of the | :02:10. | :02:14.
items in here are priceless. Added you get to this stage now? A lot of | :02:15. | :02:19.
hard work, a lot of people involved. We decided early on we wanted to do | :02:20. | :02:24.
something different. Schoolkids have been coming to this museum for more | :02:25. | :02:28.
than 30 years. What do they think of the changes? I was really sad. | :02:29. | :02:34.
Because it is a really cool place and a lot of the sides could have | :02:35. | :02:38.
been damaged. It was amazing how civilised we were then. The smells | :02:39. | :02:44.
were very disgusting! It really brought the Viking period to live | :02:45. | :02:47.
and there were lots of different things that were really interesting. | :02:48. | :02:52.
This team have worked hard to protect the museum from future | :02:53. | :02:55.
flooding so people can continue to see what the Vikings did all those | :02:56. | :02:57.
years ago. The first ever cargo train | :02:58. | :03:02.
from the UK to China It took loads of things to sell, | :03:03. | :03:05.
like fizzy drinks and medicines, on an epic 7,500-mile journey | :03:06. | :03:08.
over 18 days. But what would you see, and need, | :03:09. | :03:12.
if you took the trip? As the train pulls out of the base | :03:13. | :03:25.
in Essex it will travel to waltz the Channel Tunnel, meaning it will see | :03:26. | :03:29.
this for a while. After resurfacing in France you will travel on through | :03:30. | :03:34.
to Belgium. If you have a sweet tooth you might expect it to be | :03:35. | :03:38.
filled with fancy chocolate, but instead you will see a lot of | :03:39. | :03:43.
exciting European Union buildings. After cruising through Germany, next | :03:44. | :03:47.
is Poland. It is one of nine countries in the European Union that | :03:48. | :03:51.
does not have the euro. Make sure you take some Polish coins with you | :03:52. | :03:54.
to buy a postcard. Swing through Belarus to Russia. If temperatures | :03:55. | :04:00.
drop and it slows it might be worth picking up a traditional Russian at | :04:01. | :04:04.
with ear flaps to keep warm. Kazakhstan is made up of a lot of | :04:05. | :04:08.
flat desert, good for rocket launchers. That is where Major Tim | :04:09. | :04:15.
Peake and his crew launched to get TV I S S and landed safely back on | :04:16. | :04:19.
Earth. China is famous for tea, the great Wall and making lots of things | :04:20. | :04:24.
like technology and clothes. Train bosses say the 7500 mile trip to the | :04:25. | :04:31.
Chinese city by train is faster than by sea and cheaper than by air. | :04:32. | :04:33.
Toot, to! And finally, we see a lot | :04:34. | :04:36.
of a-mazing things here This is the largest maze in Spain - | :04:37. | :04:39.
its made from four thousand trees, is over five kilometres long | :04:40. | :04:44.
and it'll take you about an hour That's all from me, Newsround's back | :04:45. | :04:46.
right here in about half an hour. Hi, my name's Gwen. | :04:47. | :05:03.
Hi, my name's Elin. | :05:04. | :05:06. |
