Hi, guys, Martin here with your Thursday afternoon Newsround.

0:00:120:00:15

First up, parts of the UK have been getting their first taste

0:00:150:00:17

of snow this winter.

0:00:170:00:21

There's been lots of wintry weather - snow, winds and rain have been

0:00:210:00:25

causing problems for roads, some airports and trains.

0:00:250:00:28

In Scotland, some schools were closed.

0:00:280:00:31

In many places trucks are putting grit on the roads and more snow

0:00:310:00:31

is expected overnight.

0:00:340:00:36

And don't forget we want your weather updates.

0:00:360:00:39

If the snow is falling where you are, send us your pics

0:00:390:00:42

or your own weather report by going online.

0:00:420:00:44

Next up - a week before he becomes President,

0:00:440:00:47

Donald Trump is involved in an argument with the media

0:00:470:00:49

and with his own spy agency.

0:00:490:00:53

It's all to do with secret files, spies and who is telling the truth.

0:00:530:00:56

Sounds like a film - Ricky has more.

0:00:560:00:59

Go ahead.

0:00:590:01:01

President-elect...

0:01:010:01:03

She is asking the question. Don't be rude.

0:01:030:01:05

President-elect... Can you give us a question...

0:01:050:01:06

Don't be rude.

0:01:060:01:08

Donald Trump is making headlines before he starts as President.

0:01:080:01:11

You are fake news.

0:01:110:01:12

NEWSREADER: As the President-elect faces off against the media.

0:01:120:01:15

At his first meeting with the world's media since he won

0:01:150:01:18

the election last November, he refused to take a question

0:01:180:01:22

from an American news station that he said was broadcasting fake

0:01:220:01:25

stories about him. It was a pretty fiery moment.

0:01:250:01:28

The media conference was supposed to be about what he'll do

0:01:280:01:32

with his businesses when he becomes President.

0:01:320:01:35

But how did we end up here?

0:01:350:01:38

Well there's been lots of talk in the last few weeks

0:01:380:01:41

about Mr Trump's relationship with Russia - and that is

0:01:410:01:44

what caused the argument.

0:01:440:01:47

The US spy agencies were given some information about Mr Trump

0:01:470:01:50

and his team's dealings with Russia before and during the election.

0:01:500:01:54

The evidence was shown to Mr Trump and to President Obama.

0:01:540:01:57

Some of it was very embarrassing.

0:01:570:02:01

But no-one knows if it is true - and Mr Trump says it's fake.

0:02:010:02:04

But the information ended up in some of the media.

0:02:040:02:07

Mr Trump is very angry about that.

0:02:070:02:10

He thinks it was given to journalists by the US spies

0:02:100:02:13

trying to make things difficult for him.

0:02:130:02:15

I think it is a disgrace that information would be let out.

0:02:150:02:19

It is all fake news, it is phony stuff.

0:02:190:02:22

The US security chiefs say they didn't give it to the media.

0:02:220:02:26

An argument like this is bad timing for Mr Trump.

0:02:260:02:30

On January 20th he has his inauguration and officially

0:02:300:02:33

becomes President - he wants everyone to be

0:02:330:02:36

talking about THAT instead.

0:02:360:02:40

Now from one kind of spy to another - if you're

0:02:400:02:43

missing Planet Earth Two, there's a brand-new

0:02:430:02:46

nature show called Spy In The Wild on TV tonight.

0:02:460:02:50

Think furry robots and eye cameras and you've got a pretty

0:02:500:02:52

unique nature show.

0:02:520:02:55

Do you ever get the feeling you're being watched?

0:02:560:02:59

By a meerkat!

0:02:590:03:04

Meet Huw Williams.

0:03:050:03:08

He's a cameraman on the brand-new show Spy In The Wild,

0:03:080:03:11

which uses animal robots to help spy on animals in the wild.

0:03:110:03:15

So, we wanted to find out a little bit more about these

0:03:150:03:19

rather hairy robots.

0:03:190:03:21

Tell us who have we got here?

0:03:210:03:24

Here we have spy meerkat and spy peccary.

0:03:240:03:27

There's 34 different robots, how did you make them?

0:03:270:03:30

It's kind of a group effort.

0:03:300:03:33

We have different engineers from around the world and some

0:03:330:03:35

people do the internal robotics, whilst others do the aesthetics

0:03:350:03:38

and design the skins and make them look the part.

0:03:380:03:41

So these are the remote controls? Yes, they are.

0:03:410:03:43

That looks familiar.

0:03:430:03:46

This is almost like your average PlayStation remote control.

0:03:460:03:49

But this controls the spy peccary here.

0:03:490:03:52

Look at that! You are moving its head.

0:03:520:03:55

That's quite realistic, the way it's moving its head.

0:03:550:03:58

Yeah.

0:03:580:04:00

That's the key, really, is to make these robotics look

0:04:000:04:04

and act like the real thing, just to try and convince

0:04:040:04:06

the animals out there and make them feel comfortable.

0:04:060:04:09

Where would the camera be? The cameras are in fact in the eyes.

0:04:090:04:12

All of our spy creatures are hiding a hidden camera there in the eye.

0:04:120:04:16

What was the most surprising thing you learned in this series?

0:04:160:04:19

There's one in particular, a spy meerkat here, the wild

0:04:190:04:23

meerkats actually handed over baby-sitting responsibilities

0:04:230:04:27

to our spy meerkat, and so they left these babies with him,

0:04:270:04:31

whilst they went off hunting for food, which was fantastic.

0:04:310:04:35

If you could create any robotic animal, which animal would it be?

0:04:350:04:38

I think it would be the cheetah.

0:04:380:04:41

Purely because I would just love to see a robot moving at that pace.

0:04:410:04:45

But I think that's going to be the next step for us.

0:04:450:04:49

Newsround's back at 7.40am tomorrow.

0:04:510:04:53

Stay warm out there, guys!
