Hi, I'm Leah, it's Monday morning and this is Newsround, live on CBBC. | 0:00:03 | 0:00:07
Coming up... | 0:00:07 | 0:00:10
Ayshah goes on a nurdle hunt near Edinburgh. | 0:00:10 | 0:00:12
And the sinkhole eating a car in the United States. | 0:00:12 | 0:00:17
But first England have won their biggest international | 0:00:25 | 0:00:27
football title since 1966 by winning the Under-20 World Cup championship. | 0:00:27 | 0:00:30
This is how it happened. | 0:00:30 | 0:00:39
England faced Venezuela in the final of the Under-20s | 0:00:39 | 0:00:41
World Cup in South Korea. | 0:00:41 | 0:00:42
England had never got to a final before - | 0:00:42 | 0:00:44
could they go one better and win it? | 0:00:44 | 0:00:46
They started brilliantly, and were fired into the lead | 0:00:46 | 0:00:48
by Dominic Calvert-Lewin. | 0:00:48 | 0:00:50
Calvert-Lewin has a chance, and another one, and he's | 0:00:50 | 0:00:52
taken the second one, and England have the lead! | 0:00:52 | 0:00:56
But there were some tense moments ahead. | 0:00:56 | 0:00:59
Penaranda down, and the referee does give a penalty for Venezuela. | 0:00:59 | 0:01:04
Venezuela had a penalty, but it was brilliantly | 0:01:04 | 0:01:06
saved by Freddie Woodman. | 0:01:06 | 0:01:07
And England have won the Under-20 World Cup! | 0:01:07 | 0:01:13
The final whistle saw amazing scenes as this England side | 0:01:13 | 0:01:15
became World Champions. | 0:01:15 | 0:01:20
We want you to get in touch, what did you think of the match? | 0:01:20 | 0:01:23
Head online to let us know. | 0:01:23 | 0:01:25
Elsewhere, Wales kept alive their hopes of qualifying | 0:01:25 | 0:01:27
for the 2018 World Cup with a 1-1 draw against Serbia. | 0:01:27 | 0:01:32
Aaron Ramsey scored from the penalty spot to give them a half-time lead. | 0:01:32 | 0:01:35
They remain third in their group, still four points behind Serbia | 0:01:35 | 0:01:38
and the Republic of Ireland with four games left. | 0:01:38 | 0:01:43
Nurdles - it's a funny word, isn't it? | 0:01:43 | 0:01:45
Well, these beads have been causing a big problem in our seas. | 0:01:45 | 0:01:48
Ayshah's got more. | 0:01:48 | 0:01:50
Nurdles. | 0:01:50 | 0:01:53
Nurdles. | 0:01:53 | 0:01:54
Nurdles. | 0:01:54 | 0:01:55
ALL: That's what these things are called. | 0:01:55 | 0:01:59
And we're here with Ayshah to go on a hunt to find them. | 0:01:59 | 0:02:08
While they're still looking, I'll tell you a bit more about... | 0:02:08 | 0:02:11
Nurdles are small plastic balls similar to microbeads | 0:02:11 | 0:02:15
which are found in face wash. | 0:02:15 | 0:02:17
They're used to make bigger plastic products | 0:02:17 | 0:02:20
like bottles and paddling pools. | 0:02:20 | 0:02:24
Millions of them wash up on UK beaches every year. | 0:02:24 | 0:02:29
Guys, what have you found so far? | 0:02:29 | 0:02:33
We've found loads and loads of nurdles, like tonnes. | 0:02:33 | 0:02:35
We have found nurdles and they were just lying | 0:02:35 | 0:02:38
on the beach and they're really hard to find. | 0:02:38 | 0:02:40
The sea is basically pushing them into the ground, | 0:02:40 | 0:02:43
and the sand's covering them up. | 0:02:43 | 0:02:47
We're nurdle-hunting today. | 0:02:47 | 0:02:49
Why are we doing it? | 0:02:49 | 0:02:52
Well, we're trying to get lots of people out on to beaches | 0:02:52 | 0:02:55
looking for these little pellets called nurdles to try | 0:02:55 | 0:02:57
and help us make a map. | 0:02:57 | 0:02:59
We use that information to then talk to the companies that are handling | 0:02:59 | 0:03:03
these little pellets and spilling them by accident to help them make | 0:03:03 | 0:03:06
sure that they're stopping spilling them in the future. | 0:03:06 | 0:03:08
These pellets are really, really small. | 0:03:08 | 0:03:11
Can they cause any harm to things that are in the sea? | 0:03:11 | 0:03:15
They are small, but once they're at sea, they don't go away, | 0:03:15 | 0:03:18
they'll just break down into smaller and smaller pieces. | 0:03:18 | 0:03:20
And they also, unfortunately, look quite a lot like animal food, | 0:03:20 | 0:03:22
like fish eggs, so sea birds and fish eat them and they feel full | 0:03:22 | 0:03:26
and don't eat proper food, so it is a big problem. | 0:03:26 | 0:03:28
Who's found nurdles? | 0:03:28 | 0:03:30
ALL: We have! | 0:03:30 | 0:03:31
Come show me! | 0:03:31 | 0:03:32
I want to see, I want to see! | 0:03:32 | 0:03:34
Wow, OK. | 0:03:34 | 0:03:37
Some here. | 0:03:37 | 0:03:40
How many do you think we've got? | 0:03:40 | 0:03:42
More than about 1000! | 0:03:42 | 0:03:43
More than 1000?! | 0:03:43 | 0:03:47
There were loads, were there? | 0:03:47 | 0:03:48
Good job, guys. | 0:03:48 | 0:03:49
You can officially call yourselves... | 0:03:49 | 0:03:50
ALL: Nurdle-hunters! | 0:03:50 | 0:03:59
A new Xbox was revealed in Los Angeles last night. | 0:03:59 | 0:04:01
It's called the Xbox One X. | 0:04:01 | 0:04:05
It can play games in ultra-HD 4K, although you'll need an expensive | 0:04:05 | 0:04:08
new TV to notice the difference, and it will cost twice | 0:04:08 | 0:04:10
as much as the normal Xbox. | 0:04:10 | 0:04:13
The makers say it will be the world's most powerful console. | 0:04:13 | 0:04:19
Now to a herd of goats helping park rangers clear up the mess still left | 0:04:19 | 0:04:23
over from a hurricane that hit a part of Brooklyn in | 0:04:23 | 0:04:25
America a few years ago. | 0:04:25 | 0:04:26
Hayley's got more. | 0:04:26 | 0:04:29
Meet Max, Cinnamon, Swirl and Unicorn - | 0:04:29 | 0:04:31
forest goats that have been put to work clearing the fallen down | 0:04:31 | 0:04:35
trees and washed-up shrubs from the recent flooding that | 0:04:35 | 0:04:37
devastated Prospect Park in Brooklyn, New York. | 0:04:37 | 0:04:41
Hurricane Sandy came through and knocked down | 0:04:41 | 0:04:44
about 30 or so big trees, with big light gaps opening, | 0:04:44 | 0:04:47
and weeds just flourished. | 0:04:47 | 0:04:50
So we wanted to do basic removal, but we didn't want to use chemicals. | 0:04:50 | 0:04:54
So the goats get to do their favourite hobby - munching leaves! | 0:04:54 | 0:04:58
Luckily, they're not a picky lot - they even love eating | 0:04:58 | 0:05:01
weeds and poison ivy. | 0:05:01 | 0:05:02
And the local kids love them, too. | 0:05:02 | 0:05:05
Love that there are goats in Prospect Park! | 0:05:05 | 0:05:07
It's awesome. | 0:05:07 | 0:05:08
I love goats, and seeing more wildlife... | 0:05:08 | 0:05:10
Well, I guess it's not wildlife, but seeing more animals | 0:05:10 | 0:05:12
in Prospect Park is really great. | 0:05:12 | 0:05:16
I think I remember that they used to like chomping plants, | 0:05:16 | 0:05:19
like yum-yum-yum. | 0:05:19 | 0:05:21
And it's a yum-yum-yum from these kids, too, | 0:05:21 | 0:05:24
as they're one group of workers who are certainly going to love | 0:05:24 | 0:05:26
their jobs this summer! | 0:05:26 | 0:05:30
Finally to the car disappearing into a sinkhole in Florida, | 0:05:30 | 0:05:33
in the United States. | 0:05:33 | 0:05:34
The car was parked at a fast food restaurant with no-one inside it | 0:05:34 | 0:05:37
when the hole opened up. | 0:05:37 | 0:05:40
Luckily, it seems the sinkhole wasn't quite big enough to swallow | 0:05:40 | 0:05:43
the car and it was left with the back end sticking | 0:05:43 | 0:05:46
out of the ground. | 0:05:46 | 0:05:49
That's all from me, Newsround's back this afternoon with Jenny. | 0:05:49 | 0:05:53
Have a good day. | 0:05:53 | 0:05:56
Bye! | 0:05:56 | 0:06:00 | |
We're moments away from Little Roy, next! | 0:06:09 | 0:06:11
And our Fave At Five today is brand-new Hetty Feather! | 0:06:11 | 0:06:13
But you don't have to wait 'til the afternoon to see it, do you? | 0:06:13 | 0:06:16 |
