All this week we've been telling you about the huge problem

of poaching in South Africa here on Newsround.

Poachers illegally hunt rhino and elephant to sell their tusks

and horns, but some groups are using technology to fight back.

I went to a reserve to see how head ranger LB and his team

I'm heading out on an anti-poaching patrol it is something that happens

everynight here on this reserve. Animals are most at risk at dark, as

it makes it harder for the poachers to be seen. I'm a little nervous.

I've never done anything like this before. It is pitch-black dark but L

B and the team will be there. They are so experienced and can do

everything that they say. I'm going to stay near the vehicle. As there

is dangerous work with a lot of ground to cover, we are heading out

in a jeep with high-powered lights to help us find our way. Before we

go I'm fitted with special kit so our location is tracked and my heart

rate monitored. Now you are kited up, we have heart

monitors on you. Cameras with us, we have radios, knives. We have people

with us. Let's go out and do some patrolling.

This is the most hi-tech equipment in the world.

What are we doing? We are tracking the animals in all of the different

areas. We use the systems to tell us where the vulnerabilities are. We

check everything we need to do, if we have alerts that come up, we

respond aaccordingly. They are developing and testing

technology to help them and others in the battle against poachers.

Every area and animal that can be check will be. Tonight we are using

night vision cameras and infrared to help us spot anything out of the

ordinary. OK. Scan with the night vision for me.

Sure. OK. I can't really see anything that

will cause us concern. Thankfully, the animals in this area

are safe. We can let the team at base know everything is OK.

Next, adverts for fatty or sugary foods targeted at children could be

banned online as part of efforts to tackle obesity.

At the moment unhealthy foods can't be advertised on TV programmes

which are likely to appeal to children under 16.

Now the public are being asked if the rules should apply to adverts

Staff want people living there to enjoy petting

the small goats and say that being around animals can be good
