Hi, I'm Martin, it's Monday
and this is Newsround. | 0:00:06 | 0:00:08
Coming up in the next
few minutes.... | 0:00:08 | 0:00:09
The British gymnasts
tumbling their way into the medals. | 0:00:09 | 0:00:13
And the girl who
invented her own emoji. | 0:00:13 | 0:00:16
First up, the January football
transfer window opens in just under | 0:00:27 | 0:00:29
two months' time and football clubs
can start to bring in | 0:00:29 | 0:00:32
some new top players. | 0:00:32 | 0:00:36
It's already starting to get
exciting because rumour has it that | 0:00:36 | 0:00:39
Real Madrid are ready to sell this
man, Gareth Bale. | 0:00:39 | 0:00:42
Bale signed for Madrid four years
ago for a record-breaking fee | 0:00:42 | 0:00:45
of around £71 million. | 0:00:45 | 0:00:48
However, the Welsh forward has had
a lot of trouble with injuries | 0:00:48 | 0:00:51
since making the big move. | 0:00:51 | 0:00:52
Premier League clubs
like Manchester United | 0:00:52 | 0:00:57
and his old side, Tottenham,
are the hot favourites to sign him, | 0:00:57 | 0:01:02
but only if they're willing
to pay around £85 million. | 0:01:02 | 0:01:05
Next, the number of natural
World Heritage sites threatened | 0:01:05 | 0:01:07
by climate change has grown from 35
to 62 in just three years. | 0:01:07 | 0:01:10
According to a report
by the International Union | 0:01:10 | 0:01:14
for Conservation for Nature,
coral bleaching and glacier | 0:01:14 | 0:01:16
loss are among the most
threatened ecosystems. | 0:01:16 | 0:01:20
A World Heritage site is a place
that is seen to be important either | 0:01:20 | 0:01:23
because it is vital to the health
of the environment or because it's | 0:01:23 | 0:01:26
historically meaningful. | 0:01:26 | 0:01:30
Next, lots of people experience
online bullying and even YouTube | 0:01:30 | 0:01:33
stars have to deal with trolling. | 0:01:33 | 0:01:37
As it's anti-bullying week this
week, we've asked some YouTube stars | 0:01:37 | 0:01:40
for their advice on what do
if you are being bullied online. | 0:01:40 | 0:01:43
Here's what they have to say. | 0:01:43 | 0:01:46
My advice for keeping safe online
and avoiding, you know, | 0:01:46 | 0:01:50
seeing people saying horrible
comments is if you do see it, | 0:01:50 | 0:01:53
firstly, you can block them,
or if they are a friend, | 0:01:53 | 0:01:56
you can unfollow them. | 0:01:56 | 0:01:57
That's the first thing you can do. | 0:01:57 | 0:01:59
And if it still persists,
you can always report them, | 0:01:59 | 0:02:01
if they are being horrible. | 0:02:01 | 0:02:03
Ignore them. | 0:02:03 | 0:02:04
They are trying to get
a reaction out of you, | 0:02:04 | 0:02:06
so I just say, ignore it,
or if you are really upset | 0:02:06 | 0:02:09
about something, talk to someone,
especially your parents | 0:02:09 | 0:02:11
because your parents love you so
much and they always listen to you. | 0:02:11 | 0:02:14
Trust me. | 0:02:14 | 0:02:15
I would probably just say, yeah,
talk to someone and just ignore | 0:02:15 | 0:02:18
all of it because they are wrong. | 0:02:18 | 0:02:20
You are amazing. | 0:02:20 | 0:02:21
But if you are getting bullied
online, I think the best thing to do | 0:02:21 | 0:02:24
is not to respond to it
because if you respond | 0:02:24 | 0:02:26
to somebody, it is giving them
the attention they want. | 0:02:26 | 0:02:29
So, for me, personally,
everybody gets hate in life. | 0:02:29 | 0:02:31
I get so much hate. | 0:02:31 | 0:02:32
But you just block it out. | 0:02:32 | 0:02:35
I feel like when you just
ignore them, that's not | 0:02:35 | 0:02:37
necessarily what they want,
but you won't have to see it anymore | 0:02:37 | 0:02:40
and it is a lot nicer, you know? | 0:02:40 | 0:02:47
So, the internet can be
a place for great things, | 0:02:47 | 0:02:53
but also you can get down with some
of the negative comments. | 0:02:53 | 0:02:56
We have got them, they are silly
comments, they don't matter, | 0:02:56 | 0:03:03
but my favourite thing to do
is block the trolls. | 0:03:03 | 0:03:07
Block the haters. | 0:03:07 | 0:03:14
They don't know and it's
like power to you. | 0:03:14 | 0:03:16
Every social media has
a block button or a mute | 0:03:16 | 0:03:19
button and personally,
if I am receiving negative comments, | 0:03:19 | 0:03:21
I mute them because they will never
find out and they will keep doing it | 0:03:21 | 0:03:24
and they will scream into a void. | 0:03:24 | 0:03:26
And if you want any help
or advice around bullying, | 0:03:26 | 0:03:28
then head online where we have loads
info for you. | 0:03:28 | 0:03:31
To a wee bit of tumbling
now and Britain claimed | 0:03:31 | 0:03:33
four medals yesterday
at the Trampoline World | 0:03:33 | 0:03:35
Championships in Bulgaria. | 0:03:35 | 0:03:36
Both GB men and women's
synchronised teams took | 0:03:36 | 0:03:38
the silver on day three. | 0:03:38 | 0:03:39
Britain have now won six
medals at the event - | 0:03:39 | 0:03:42
two more than the four silver medals
won at the last World | 0:03:42 | 0:03:44
Championships in 2015. | 0:03:44 | 0:03:45
Plus, there's still one day
of competition to go. | 0:03:45 | 0:03:47
Good job! | 0:03:47 | 0:03:49
Next, to a girl from Saudi Arabia
who couldn't find an emoji | 0:03:49 | 0:03:51
that looked like her,
so she invented one! | 0:03:51 | 0:03:53
Now it's ready for the world to use. | 0:03:53 | 0:03:59
Hello, I'm Rayouf and I'm 16 years
old and I'm from Saudi Arabia. | 0:03:59 | 0:04:02
I made the hijab emoji. | 0:04:02 | 0:04:03
I was in a group chat
with my friends and I wanted to use | 0:04:03 | 0:04:07
a hijab emoji to look like me,
but there wasn't one which was why | 0:04:07 | 0:04:10
I began thinking and decided
to do something about it. | 0:04:10 | 0:04:12
I wrote a letter to an organisation
that deals with the emojis | 0:04:12 | 0:04:15
and everything about emojis called
Unicode. | 0:04:15 | 0:04:17
There are many women
that wear a headscarf | 0:04:17 | 0:04:19
and they should be represented. | 0:04:19 | 0:04:20
Thankfully, they allowed it
and Google, Twitter, Facebook, | 0:04:20 | 0:04:22
they have to decide,
how should we create this emoji? | 0:04:22 | 0:04:24
How do we want the
headscarf to look like? | 0:04:24 | 0:04:26
How should we make
the eyes look like? | 0:04:26 | 0:04:32
So they all look different
on different platforms. | 0:04:32 | 0:04:37
The idea has been very big
and I've travelled to many | 0:04:37 | 0:04:40
places to talk about it. | 0:04:40 | 0:04:41
It is amazing to know that so many
women, so many people, | 0:04:41 | 0:04:46
billions of people all around
the world are able to | 0:04:46 | 0:04:49
use it because of me. | 0:04:49 | 0:04:51
That's all from me. | 0:04:51 | 0:04:53
We'll be back bright
and early tomorrow morning. | 0:04:53 | 0:04:56
Bye. | 0:04:56 | 0:04:58 |
