Hi, I'm Ricky with your evening Newsround.

First, if you've ever wondered what life was like as a soldier during

World War I, from today you can read it in their own words. Thousands of

pages of soldiers' diaries describing life in the trenches are

being made available online. Ayshah has got this one.

We are sitting outside our headquarters. All should be nice and

peaceful except it is beyond description. Trenches, ammunition,

weapons everywhere. The Germans got their artillery into position and a

considerable amount of shelling was experienced. Our casualties were

slight. One captain in World War I served with the first Battalion

South Wales has had his diary published online along with

thousands of others during the first great War. They hope to have one and

a half million pages in the next few years and the Imperial War Museum is

doing something similar. It's important that these diaries are

doing online because it allows us to access them anywhere. We can find

out what life was like during the First World War. This year marks 100

years since the start of the war and this is just one of the many ways we

are remembering the great sacrifices people made their country.

Remember, some of the diaries contain some pretty upsetting

reflections. Next, severe heat is causing

problems for tennis players and fans at the Australian Open. One player

had fainted, another was sick as temperatures soared up to 42 degrees

Celsius. There have been reports of plastic water bottles melting on the

courts, and some fans have even burnt their backs on the seats. But

the heat didn't stop Andy Murray from easing through to the next

round. He beat Japan's Go Soeda. After the match, he spoke about the

hot weather. You don't want something bad to happen to one of

the players. That is the thing, if something bad happened to one of the

players they would change the rules. People fainting, it is a

really tough challenge in the conditions.
