Hi, guys. Jenny here, live with all of Saturday's top stories,

:00:00.:00:09.

including: The first rocket to reach the moon in nearly 40 years.

:00:10.:00:14.

The mud spewing volcano that's been erupting for seven years. This is

:00:15.:00:21.

Newsround. First to South Africa where hundreds

:00:22.:00:25.

of people have lined the streets of Nelson Mandela's home town as it

:00:26.:00:29.

prepares to stage his funeral. Young and old joined together in Qunu,

:00:30.:00:32.

where Mandela grew up, to pay their respects as his coffin is driven to

:00:33.:00:36.

the place where the ceremony will take place tomorrow. Around 4,000

:00:37.:00:39.

people are expected to attend, including several world leaders and

:00:40.:00:49.

Prince Charles. Those scenes show how much of an impact Nelson Mandela

:00:50.:00:55.

had on people. Ricky has been in South Africa and bed one person who

:00:56.:00:59.

says he owes Nelson Mandela a lot. -- met one person. I'm in

:01:00.:01:08.

Johannesburg, a very busy city here in South Africa. 30 years ago,

:01:09.:01:11.

around here, things would have been quite different. Back then, black

:01:12.:01:15.

and white people lead extremely different lives. They would have

:01:16.:01:24.

been shocked but white people, shops or just black people. It was known

:01:25.:01:32.

as a pas died. -- apartheid. This girl has come to -- this man has

:01:33.:01:36.

come to tell me what life used to be like for people here. I heard about

:01:37.:01:44.

apartheid from the adults. We could see it as we got older. Between the

:01:45.:01:49.

ages of six and ten, it was a bit hazy. We have the police coming in,

:01:50.:01:56.

looking for people, raids on certain houses. That was the experience back

:01:57.:02:04.

then. I knew of Nelson. I think most young black South Africans who grew

:02:05.:02:12.

up knew of him. In songs. That is how we kept his memory alive. When

:02:13.:02:19.

you heard he was going to be released, what was it like? I was at

:02:20.:02:27.

my cousins house. We were playing and the news came. Everybody came

:02:28.:02:31.

out on the streets. Celebrating, singing, and we were part of that

:02:32.:02:39.

celebration. This man is now a successful businessman. Without

:02:40.:02:42.

Mandela, it wouldn't have been possible for people like him to

:02:43.:02:45.

achieve his dreams living in South Africa.

:02:46.:02:49.

And you can watch our special Newsround report, Mandela's

:02:50.:02:51.

Children, with Ricky in South Africa, over on the Newsround

:02:52.:02:54.

website. Some breaking news now, and China

:02:55.:02:57.

have just become the first country in nearly 40 years to successfully

:02:58.:03:01.

land a spacecraft on the moon. The special probe, complete with a

:03:02.:03:04.

six-wheeled robot has just touched down. It'll now carry out scientific

:03:05.:03:12.

experiments on the moon's surface. It's the first step in their plans

:03:13.:03:17.

to send people to the moon soon. Now the tree is up, the presents are

:03:18.:03:21.

wrapped but no Christmas is complete without some festive music. By

:03:22.:03:24.

tomorrow, we'll know which of the X Factor finalists will join the race

:03:25.:03:27.

to be Christmas number one. But why is topping the charts at this time

:03:28.:03:31.

of year seen as so important? Here's Ayshah.

:03:32.:03:36.

Every year, we wheel out those Christmas past six from the super

:03:37.:03:49.

festive... To the super cheesy. And being Christmas number one can

:03:50.:03:53.

secure a place in music history. Every year, some of the biggest

:03:54.:03:57.

names in pop try to reach the top spot. Why did they all wanted? I

:03:58.:04:03.

think everyone wants a Christmas number one in the UK because it is a

:04:04.:04:07.

tradition, something we have been doing for over 50 years in this

:04:08.:04:12.

country. It is the big thing of the year. I have listened to it every

:04:13.:04:19.

single year. I want to be a Christmas number one. It is not just

:04:20.:04:25.

a great honour, recording a Christmas hit means your song could

:04:26.:04:28.

be played every Christmas for years to come. Who are the top contenders

:04:29.:04:32.

for Christmas number one? I think this year, the ones to watch our

:04:33.:04:40.

Leona Lewis with One More Sleep. They have put everything in this

:04:41.:04:47.

song that you have heard in every other Christmas classic song.

:04:48.:04:49.

Another one that might quite interesting to look at is Susan

:04:50.:04:59.

Boyle featuring Elvis Presley. I'm not particularly tipping it for

:05:00.:05:04.

number one but your nanny might buy it. Then, the X Factor women --

:05:05.:05:13.

winner. But it is not all festive cheer. And online campaign is trying

:05:14.:05:20.

to get 70s rockers AC/DC to the top of the charts in protest at modern

:05:21.:05:25.

pot music -- pop music. In sport, England's hopes of

:05:26.:05:28.

rescuing the Ashes are not looking good. They needed 385 runs to avoid

:05:29.:05:33.

losing the third Test but had four people bowled out by the close of

:05:34.:05:37.

play, with only 180 runs on the board. They're already 2-0 down in

:05:38.:05:43.

the five-match series. And a massive mud volcano that's

:05:44.:05:46.

been erupting continuously for seven years could stop sooner than

:05:47.:05:50.

expected. Scientists had thought the Lusi volcano in Indonesia would keep

:05:51.:05:55.

spewing out gas until the 2030s. But new satellite data now shows its

:05:56.:05:59.

likely to stop by the end of this decade.

:06:00.:06:03.

That's it from me. I'll be back first thing tomorrow.

:06:04.:06:06.
