had to say sorry for doing something "stupid".

And a kayaker's near-miss with a 20-tonne whale.

But first to a row about apps on smartphones that turn plastic

surgery into a game, which a charity has said are "dangerous". Players

are presented with a figure of a girl and are invited to "fix" her,

making her thinner using surgery techniques. Apple and Google have

removed a version aimed at kids aged nine and older, but a very similar

version is still available aimed at kids aged 12 and above and the

eating disorder charity B-Eat told us today that's sending a bad

message. We are very concerned about this app

because we know how dangerous it can be for young people to feel bad

about themselves and their bodies. We don't see how this can do

anything but add to their securities. It is dangerous. In

order to get an app onto the store, it does have to be approved, what do

you think about that? If this really has gone through an approval

process, I don't think it is rigorous enough. I don't think it

has taken into account, enough of the serious consequences that can

come from people having access to this. We are not in favour of people

banning things but they should have a more responsible attitude.

Google told us earlier that they "don't comment on individual apps,

but will remove apps that breach guidelines". We've asked Apple

several times today about whether they feel the Plastic Surgery game

is appropriate for kids to play, but we've so far heard nothing back.

Next, Liam Payne's had to apologise after a pick was posted on Twitter

of him balancing on the edge of a balcony, hundreds of feet up a tall

building. The pic's now been taken down, but afterwards the One

Direction star tweeted: Next we're heading Down Under where

a heat wave is causing trouble at the Australian Open tennis

tournament, which is taking place in the city of Melbourne. Scorching

temperatures of more than 40 Celsius have led to players and spectators

fainting, and there are warnings of bushfires in the countryside nearby.

Martin's been looking into it. I was fainting. The wind was hot. I'd put

the bottle down on the court and it started melting. It is tough,

challenging conditions. The world's hottest tennis players

are feeling the heat at the Australian Open. Canadian player

Frank Dancevic fainted on court on Tuesday and needed medical

attention. As did some spectators and a ball boy. Dancevic has

complained that it's "inhumane" of organisers to make players compete

in such intense heat. And today Ivan Dodig from Croatia said he feared he

could have died in the heat during his second round match. It is the

hard courts they are playing on in Melbourne. It has the heat coming up

from the floor. Officials look at a combination of temperature, humidity

and wind speed before deciding whether to stop play. So far they

haven't. But Andy Murray says even players aren't clear on what the

rules actually are. They do some wet bulb reading, which I don't know

what that means. No one does, so maybe that has to change. Even at

night, it's stayed above 30 Celsius in Melbourne - that's about the same

as our hottest summer temperatures last year. This is a series of

public health issue. There are serious consequences from extreme

heat. Lightening sparked more than 250 fires in Victoria last night.

People have been trying to keep cool where ever they can. These horses

took a dip in the sea. But the forecast is not good, the extreme

temperatures are not expected to fall until the weekend.

If you're out kayaking in the sea, it's generally a good idea to steer

clear of a 20-tonne whale. But take a look at what happened to this

kayaker in Norway last week. A humpback whale came up for air right

next to his kayak! He said he didn't realise he was sitting on the

whale's back and didn't have time to be afraid. Luckily, the big mammal

swam off after the close encounter. Make sure you go to the website to
