We've got a space themed Newsround for you this Friday.

:00:00.:00:00.

British astronaut Tim Peake make his first steps out into space!

:00:07.:00:16.

And ice volcanoes on Pluto - the latest from new horizons.

:00:17.:00:29.

It's been a very exciting day for British astronaut Tim Peake

:00:30.:00:33.

who has taking part in his first spacewalk.

:00:34.:00:36.

Tim is working on the outside of the International Space Station

:00:37.:00:44.

carrying out important repairs as it orbits around earth.

:00:45.:00:50.

This is the moment Tim Peake stepped out of the International Space

:00:51.:00:53.

Station and into the vastness of space.

:00:54.:00:59.

He stopped for a few moments, hanging beneath the airlock,

:01:00.:01:01.

Earth below and the infinite black of space above.

:01:02.:01:14.

You can spot Tim from the Union flag on his shoulder.

:01:15.:01:16.

It's really cool seeing that Union Jack go outside.

:01:17.:01:18.

He's now about three hours into his spacewalk and isn't

:01:19.:01:24.

scheduled to finish until after 7 o'clock tonight.

:01:25.:01:26.

It's an epic achievement for any astronaut.

:01:27.:01:35.

It is fantastic because it is not guaranteed that astronauts will do

:01:36.:01:44.

spacewalks. They are dangerous and technical so they only get done if

:01:45.:01:48.

they need to be done so it is lucky he had an opportunity to do this.

:01:49.:01:51.

Last night he had to be in bed by 8pm so he could get plenty

:01:52.:01:54.

This morning he would have enjoyed a good breakfast and then

:01:55.:01:58.

Tim, and fellow astronaut Tim Kopra, were helped into their spacesuits

:01:59.:02:02.

The suits are big, bulky and very tricky to work in,

:02:03.:02:07.

with every movement taking a lot of effort.

:02:08.:02:15.

When you do these jobs, and using your hands, it is like squeezing a

:02:16.:02:23.

tennis ball for six and a half hours. It is quite exhausting.

:02:24.:02:26.

for this moment and now those skills are being put to the test.

:02:27.:02:31.

I think it will be the most exhilarating feeling imaginable. You

:02:32.:02:40.

are there at the edge of what we are capable of, it is extremely mentally

:02:41.:02:47.

and physically demanding but it is what I have trained for and what I

:02:48.:02:49.

am looking forward to doing. into his mission, Tim now joins

:02:50.:02:51.

an elite group of just over 200 Head over to the Newsround web site

:02:52.:02:55.

to find out Tim's doing right now Nasa's New Horizons space probe has

:02:56.:03:00.

sent back new images of Pluto. It could show a possible ice volcano

:03:01.:03:09.

on the planet's surface which would make it

:03:10.:03:12.

the largest volcano discovered Adele, James Bay and Years Years

:03:15.:03:20.

at a special ceremony in London The countdown to the Brit awards has

:03:21.:03:25.

started and leading the pack with four nominations are Brit band

:03:26.:03:33.

Years Years including best It is also so new, we just found

:03:34.:03:36.

out, so it's quite shocking. Not far behind with three

:03:37.:03:50.

nominations including Best female Tell us what it means

:03:51.:03:52.

to you as an artist. It's like being recognised for doing

:03:53.:03:57.

a good job in what you do out of thousands and

:03:58.:04:03.

thousands of artists. But one person with his hands

:04:04.:04:07.

already on a Brit award is Critics' I'm very fortunate I been given this

:04:08.:04:18.

award and I'm so grateful. But we're all in this together

:04:19.:04:27.

and that's what music is about. It's about connectivity

:04:28.:04:29.

and sharing emotions. So the nominations are in and we've

:04:30.:04:31.

been chatting to the stars on the red carpet, but they'll have

:04:32.:04:34.

to wait until next month to find out if they are a winner

:04:35.:04:37.

at the Brits 2016 and, more crucially, if they'll

:04:38.:04:40.

get their hands on one of these. That's all from me this afternoon,

:04:41.:04:45.

Newsround's back tomorrow morning There'll be lots more about how

:04:46.:04:47.

Tim's spacewalk went.
