First, there's a very special

anniversary taking place,

celebrating 20 years

of the Angel of the North.

Check this out.

It's one of the most pictured

landmarks in the UK, the Angel of

the North.

If you've ever been

to the north-east of England near

Gateshead or Newcastle,

the chances are you have seen it.

And today marks 20 years

since, in the middle

of the night, the Angel was moved

into place by the side of the A1

motorway.

Its body is as long as four

double-decker buses and its

wings are longer than

a Boeing 757 plane.

The Angel was made in Hartlepool

in the north-east and it

is thought 33 million people come

and visit it every year to take

pictures, selfies, and there have

even been marriage proposals.

Now on its 20th birthday,

the Angel will

have a medical to check its joints

are OK so it's ready to stand proud

over the north-east

for many years to come.

As spectacular as ever.

Champions League news now,

and Liverpool impressed

in their match last night.

It was the Reds' first

game in the knock-out

stages for nine years,

and they marked

the occasion in style.

A hat-trick from Sadio Mane

helped them to a 5-0

away win, against

Portuguese side Porto.

It's a very good one. Exactly as

good as necessary, so, in the end, a

great result but I think everybody

saw in the game all the moments when

we were not as compact, but we

scored fantastic goals and scold

them at the right moment. -- scored

them.

From Champions League stars to some

young sporting hopefuls next.

And when you think of big

footballing nations,

the African country of Chad probably

isn't the first place

to spring to mind.

But the country's young female

footballers are hoping

to help change that.

Let's meet them.

These players are part of history,

playing in their country's

first-ever all women football

tournament. The competition is

taking place in Chad in the middle

of Africa. Chad is one of the

poorest countries in the world and

there was a war they're not long

ago, but football is one of the most

popular sports there and they want

to get Chad playing as well as other

footballing nations. The sport is

also getting really popular amongst

women like Stephanie.

I play

football because since I was a

little girl I used to dream of

playing football.

This very special

tournament kicks off in the capital

of Chad, and it looks like the girls

have a lot of support. The number of

female teams in the country has

increased in recent years, but this

is the first time something like

this had been organised.

It's been

very difficult for us to start the

competition because here in Chad

sport is the least of anybody's

worries, especially for girls.

People love to do this kind of

activity that they should do.

The

competition will help people see how

important it is to give women the

same opportunities as men.

Well, here's a guy who'd

love to check in there.

Flynn is a six year-old bichon

frise dog he is having

a very good week indeed.

He's being treated

a slap-up doggy dinner

after winning the top prize

at a New York dog show.

Here he is enjoying the best treats

in town at a posh restaurant.

They served him chicken

pie on a silver plate.

Lucky boy!

And they even let him

stand on the table!

Finally, it's hard to imagine

feeling hot in this cold weather,

but over in Peru, they're

having a heatwave.

And just like me and you,

when the sun comes out these animals

like an iced dessert

to keep themselves cool!

Bears are slurping on frozen

fruits like watermelon,

and these jaguars are even

having their meat frozen.

It looks like an ice-cream sundae

is the only thing these cheeky

monkeys have ordered.
