Good morning guys, I'm Martin and here's what coming up on Newsround:

More UK beaches than ever classed as excellent.

And how you stop a panda from getting lonely.

But first it may not have been the warmest start to the year but if any

of you are brave enough to take a trip to the beach this holiday then

I have some good news. A record number of UK beaches have received

the top water quality award from the Marine Conservation Trust. And to

tell us exactly what that means the BBC's Tim Muffett put down his

bucket and spade for a minute to send us this report.

It is a beautiful morning near Gosport in Hampshire, where the

water quality from this speech has been classed as excellent. Every

year scientists test the quality of the water off our beaches and more

than ever have reached the top rating. Richard, you are from the

Marine conservation Society? It seems we had a really good summer

and there was hardly any rainfall so the beaches were not affected by

floods which cause the sewers to overflow and go into the sea. The

winter was very wet, will that not have made the pollution worse? It

would have done at the time. Around the coast, the beaches are not

tested. I would imagine it would have been pretty bad at around the

time of the floods. What are the dangers of dirty water? You can pick

up some infections, and things that can be harmful to you. It is

important for people to swim in the sea, to play in the sea that you

don't have those bugs to pick up. Some beaches failed to meet --

reached the minimum standard. Water companies and local authorities are

being encouraged to make sure sewage does not flow into the sea. But it

is good news when it comes to the quality of the water American leader

Barack Obama has phoned Russian president, Vladimir Putin, to urge

him to help stop protesters in eastern Ukraine.

Pro-Russian groups have taken over more government buildings despite a

warning of military action from Ukraine. Putin says Russia haven't

been interfering. Counter demonstrations calling for the

country to stay as one have also been taking place. A crisis meeting

between Ukraine, Russia and the West is due to take place on Thursday.

Commonwealth Games in Glasgow have been unveiled. Each medal is being

handmade by expert jewellers. They've been designed by Glasgow

artist, Jonathan Boyd, who said he wanted to reflect the city as well

as a feeling of movement. More than 1,000 medals will be awarded during

The Games. From Football now and tonight

Arsenal have a pretty important game against West Ham. A win for Arsenal

will move them to fourth place above Everton. And Manager, Arsene Wenger,

knows, what's required from his team.

We want to bounce back in the Premiership. We know one of the main

target is the Premiership. Therefore we want to finish strongly and we

have a battle with Everton. It is now down to consistency in our final

games. And Britain's swimmers continue to break records at the

national Championships in Glasgow. Jaz Carlin claimed the fastest time

this year in the 800 metres freestyle, breaking her own Welsh

record. Staying in the water and the most

successful Olympian in history has announced he's making a surprise

comeback. Michael Phelps who last in action at the London Olympics will

compete at an event in Arizona at the end of the month. Phelps won 22

medals in his career - 18 of them gold.

If people are driving their cars at night they usually have street

lights to help them see where they're going. Well that might be

about to change. These glow-in-the-dark road markings have

been unveiled on a 500 metre stretch of highway in the Netherlands. The

paint has special powder that charges up in the daytime and slowly

releases a green glow at night. A giant panda, who became lonely

after her best panda friend was sent to another zoo, has had her own

amusement park built in China. Staff built her a swing, climbing frame,

parallel bars and even installed a TV showing other pandas to keep her

company. And by looking at the smile on her face it seems to be working.
