Morning guys, Whitney

here with your Wednesday Newsround.

0:00:020:00:06

Coming up in the next few minutes.

0:00:060:00:08

A legendary astronaut

takes on your questions.

0:00:080:00:11

And...

0:00:110:00:13

It's golf, but with

a pretty big difference!

0:00:130:00:17

First up, spies, computer

hackers and Russia.

0:00:270:00:29

What's that all about, you ask?

0:00:290:00:31

Well, the British Prime Minister

Theresa May made a big speech

0:00:310:00:34

telling off Russia for getting

involved in other

0:00:340:00:41

countries' business.

0:00:410:00:42

Ayshah has more.

0:00:420:00:43

Do you know who this guy is?

0:00:430:00:45

This is Vladimir Putin and he's

the president of Russia.

0:00:450:00:47

He also likes to show

the Russian people how

0:00:470:00:50

strong he is by riding a horse

or catching big fish.

0:00:500:00:53

In some mountains.

0:00:530:00:55

With his top off!

0:00:550:00:59

Well, we all need a hobby.

0:00:590:01:00

But now spies around the world are

0:01:000:01:04

getting fed up with what

they say he's up to.

0:01:040:01:08

Those spies are saying that Russia

is using social media to

0:01:080:01:11

try and interfere with other

countries, including in elections.

0:01:110:01:16

Experts believe teams of Russian

spies are writing and spreading

0:01:160:01:18

stories all over the web that

are made to divide people and

0:01:180:01:23

cause arguments.

0:01:230:01:26

They have thousands of social media

accounts that all share

0:01:260:01:31

each other's stories

so the messages go far and wide.

0:01:310:01:34

It's like having thousands

of digital spies.

0:01:340:01:39

So, what about Mr Putin?

0:01:390:01:42

Well, he says he doesn't know

anything about it but

0:01:420:01:44

if it is happening, then it's

nothing to do with him or Russia.

0:01:440:01:47

But not everyone

believes that and lots

0:01:470:01:49

of leaders want to know

if Russia is a friend

0:01:490:01:52

or if it could be an enemy.

0:01:520:01:57

Thanks, Ayshah.

0:01:570:01:58

Next, have you ever wanted to travel

to the dark side of the moon?

0:01:580:02:01

It's definitely on my

bucketlist somewhere.

0:02:010:02:04

Very few people have done

0:02:040:02:08

it, but one of them

who has is former Nasa

0:02:080:02:11

astronaut Al Worden.

0:02:110:02:13

Leah went to meet him

and ask him your questions.

0:02:130:02:15

Hi, Newsround, I'm Al Worden,

I have been to the moon.

0:02:150:02:18

I hold two Guinness records,

one for being the most isolated

0:02:180:02:20

person in history and one for doing

the very first deep space spacewalk.

0:02:200:02:23

Back in 1971, Nasa

launched Apollo 15.

0:02:230:02:28

The latest in its

rockets to the moon.

0:02:280:02:31

Al Worden was the

command module pilot.

0:02:310:02:33

When Apollo 15 reached the moon,

two astronauts went down

0:02:330:02:40

to the surface and Al stayed

on board alone as it orbited

0:02:400:02:46

the moon for three days.

0:02:460:02:47

So, Al, can you tell me

what it was like being

0:02:470:02:52

so far away in space?

0:02:520:02:56

Yeah, it's, it's isolated.

0:02:560:02:59

We were in a little,

small spacecraft, it was only

0:02:590:03:01

about the size of a Volkswagen.

0:03:010:03:03

It had two guys that, when they go

down to the moon for three days,

0:03:030:03:07

I had that Volkswagen all to myself

for three days which

0:03:070:03:09

was kind of nice.

0:03:090:03:10

Imagine you're swimming underwater

but there's no water.

0:03:100:03:12

And that's what it's like in space.

0:03:120:03:15

That's incredible.

0:03:150:03:16

So Newsround viewers love

space and they've sent

0:03:160:03:18

you some of their questions.

0:03:180:03:19

Sure.

0:03:190:03:21

We trained for three

years just for my flight.

0:03:210:03:23

That was after I got selected

and ended up in the space programme.

0:03:230:03:29

I trained for a year and a half

as back-up crew for Apollo 12,

0:03:290:03:32

a further year and a half

for Apollo 15.

0:03:320:03:35

Three years training

just for one flight.

0:03:350:03:36

We tried some 300

different types of food.

0:03:360:03:38

It was all freeze-dried.

0:03:380:03:39

It was quite easy, all we had to do

was pour water back in and heat it

0:03:390:03:43

up and it was lasagne,

spaghetti, Mac and cheese,

0:03:430:03:46

all kinds of beef pies

and stuff, it was OK.

0:03:460:03:49

My favourite button to press

on the spacecraft is the one that

0:03:490:03:52

turned the engine on.

0:03:520:03:58

Then we go somewhere!

0:03:580:04:03

OK, time for a quick round-up

of some of the other

0:04:080:04:11

top stories today.

0:04:110:04:13

The Republic of Ireland

won't be joining England

0:04:130:04:16

at the World Cup next summer.

0:04:160:04:17

After drawing the first leg

0:04:170:04:20

with Denmark 0-0, they ended up

losing 5-1 last night.

0:04:200:04:23

Tottenham midfielder

Christian Eriksen scored

0:04:230:04:26

a hat-trick, which meant the Danes

were celebrating at

0:04:260:04:28

the end of the night.

0:04:280:04:32

Several of England's

new young players played

0:04:320:04:37

against Neymar's Brazil last night.

0:04:370:04:38

The match wasn't very

exciting and ended 0-0

0:04:380:04:40

but England manager Gareth Southgate

said he was really pleased about how

0:04:400:04:43

the young side played

against some superstar names.

0:04:430:04:48

And Wales also tried

out their youngsters against Panama.

0:04:480:04:54

Tom Lawrence's goal

was the highlight,

0:04:540:04:56

although they conceded a late goal,

to draw in what could be manager

0:04:560:04:59

Chris Coleman's last game in charge.

0:04:590:05:00

Next to a pretty unusual type

of sport, golf meets football.

0:05:000:05:04

This is footgolf.

0:05:040:05:06

Players skillfully kick a ball

around a golf course, but it's

0:05:060:05:09

bigger than your usual golf ball!

0:05:090:05:12

Britain came out on top

in this latest tournament

0:05:120:05:15

so well done to them.

0:05:150:05:17

If I have to be honest,

it still just looks like football

0:05:170:05:22

to me but you might enjoy it!

0:05:220:05:24

Now, does your school ever do

crazy shows for charity?

0:05:240:05:27

Well, this school in

San Francisco in America

0:05:270:05:31

celebrated World Kindness Day

by doing a sponsored dance.

0:05:310:05:33

Hundreds of kids at schools

around the state did

0:05:330:05:36

the dance which was designed

by a chroeographer to encourage kids

0:05:360:05:39

to be kind to one other.

0:05:390:05:43

Nice one, guys!

0:05:430:05:44

That's it from me, Newsround's back

at 4.20pm this afternnon.

0:05:440:05:47

Don't forget to head online

where you can check out the rest

0:05:470:05:50

of the day's stories.

0:05:500:05:51

See you!
