Space news and a new breed of shoebox satellites have provided

highly detailed pictures of Earth from orbit.

Hundreds of the small but high-tech cameras were launched

in February and have sent back their first images.

They provide enough detail to pick out individual trees or moving cars.

It's hoped they could give new insights into life on Earth.

Around 100 more will be launched in the next year.

They are much more capable than any satellite five years ago. Instead of

seeing a whole in the arms on three months after the trees have been

taken down, we can see loggers and provide warnings that is happening.
