Good morning, Hayley here with everything you need

:00:00.:00:08.

Coming up on Newsround over the next six minutes:

:00:09.:00:12.

This loom band dress has finally been snapped up - but how much for?

:00:13.:00:18.

Sam and Mark talk Children in Need, with the help

:00:19.:00:20.

First to the powerful typhoon sweeping through the Philippines

:00:21.:00:32.

Typhoon Rammasun, the strongest storm to hit

:00:33.:00:38.

the country this year, tore down trees and knocked out power lines.

:00:39.:00:41.

Schools are shut and around half a million people have

:00:42.:00:43.

been forced out of their homes, into special shelters.

:00:44.:00:49.

It's now moving towards the Chinese island of Hainan.

:00:50.:00:54.

It's less than a year since the Philippines was hit by one of

:00:55.:00:57.

the strongest storms ever - Typhoon Haiyan, and many people there are

:00:58.:01:00.

still trying to rebuild their lives after whole towns were flattened.

:01:01.:01:03.

Newsround travelled to the Philippines following

:01:04.:01:04.

You can go to the Newsround website now to watch Leah's special

:01:05.:01:08.

report on how children there were coping with the disaster.

:01:09.:01:17.

Next up - a dress made entirely from loom bands has sold in an online

:01:18.:01:21.

Now that would look cool at the end-of-term party!

:01:22.:01:28.

There were more than 100 bids for the dress.

:01:29.:01:30.

It's worn here by 12-year-old Sian from Prestatyn in Wales.

:01:31.:01:33.

It was her mum Helen who helped make it, in just three and a half weeks.

:01:34.:01:40.

Basically she just made one very long strand of the loom band and we

:01:41.:01:44.

used one of my daughter's dresses as a template and we just kind of

:01:45.:01:47.

laid the looms onto the dress and sewed it all together with elastic.

:01:48.:01:51.

We spent approximately ?47 actually buying the loom itself and all

:01:52.:01:55.

We're not going to really believe it until it is paid.

:01:56.:02:07.

That is so cool. I wonder if they do it in my size.

:02:08.:02:14.

Perhaps you went to school in fancy dress?

:02:15.:02:20.

However you raised money for Children in Need last year,

:02:21.:02:22.

you'll be pleased to hear that your donations are spent throughout

:02:23.:02:25.

the year to help fund over 2,500 projects.

:02:26.:02:27.

One of those is called Taking the Reins and CBBC's Sam and Mark

:02:28.:02:30.

went along to meet a group of children who have benefited

:02:31.:02:33.

Hi there, we are Sam and Mark and today we are

:02:34.:02:37.

Which is a Children In Need funded project so we will hang out with

:02:38.:02:41.

kids, horses as well, we are just going to hang out!

:02:42.:02:44.

Behind us we have got Beatrix and Phoebe, the little pony as well.

:02:45.:02:53.

That is what is great about this place, it is open to all

:02:54.:02:56.

children so we have children with disabilities, behavioural problems,

:02:57.:03:00.

I have been coming here for nine years.

:03:01.:03:03.

And it has helped me build my confidence

:03:04.:03:10.

because I didn't use to be confident and I used to be really shy.

:03:11.:03:16.

There is a kind of magic to it in that it draws out of the children

:03:17.:03:20.

a lot of confidence, lots of self-esteem, as you have probably

:03:21.:03:23.

seen already and communication beyond, often beyond imagination.

:03:24.:03:28.

We have children speaking for the first time ever when they

:03:29.:03:31.

We have been watching this session here.

:03:32.:03:37.

We have got his teacher and the horse, apparently the

:03:38.:03:43.

biggest horse we have got here which is why Caden loves this horse.

:03:44.:03:46.

Rhianne is teaching Caden basically how to command the horse.

:03:47.:03:50.

She has taught him how to walk around, how to trot and stop.

:03:51.:03:57.

Caden is doing it all, it is incredible,

:03:58.:03:59.

you can see the smile on his face because he is making the horse do

:04:00.:04:03.

Well, we have had a great day here at Taking the Reins,

:04:04.:04:12.

It has been great to see how the money you raise for BBC Children

:04:13.:04:16.

Finally, staying in Japan, check out this slippery looking

:04:17.:04:27.

character spotted by a student on the school run...

:04:28.:04:29.

It's a rare giant salamander - about a metre long - which had slithered

:04:30.:04:33.

It shuffled along for a while, before waddling back into the water.

:04:34.:04:40.

Now, if you get a minute before you race off to school,

:04:41.:04:43.

check out some of the brilliant stuff on the Newsround website.

:04:44.:04:46.

We've got it all - dogs doing extreme sports, why Scotland could

:04:47.:04:48.

And find out why a certain sheep is celebrating this week.

:04:49.:04:53.

Join me at five-to-nine to find out how you go about restoring

:04:54.:04:56.

an entire museum's worth of exhibits - not an easy job!

:04:57.:04:59.

It's official. Some people just don't get it. Blah, blah, blah.

:05:00.:05:03.

You don't actually need a telly to watch telly. Duh.

:05:04.:05:06.

This summer you can watch your shows whenever you want... Fantastic.

:05:07.:05:16.

Use a tablet, laptop or mobile to watch live,

:05:17.:05:21.
