Morning, I'm Leah and this is Newsround.

0:00:050:00:07

Coming up this Thursday morning:

0:00:070:00:10

Getting ready for their close-ups.

0:00:100:00:12

The school for wannabe vloggers.

0:00:120:00:16

Heartbreak for the snail who was trying to find love.

0:00:160:00:20

And ramping up the cuteness, why these ducklings

0:00:200:00:22

are getting a helping hand.

0:00:220:00:31

First up, to the biggest and most powerful wind

0:00:310:00:34

turbines on the planet, which have just been

0:00:340:00:36

opened in Liverpool Bay.

0:00:360:00:39

They're taller than two Big Ben towers.

0:00:390:00:41

Their blades are as long as a queue of nine double-decker buses.

0:00:410:00:46

And there are 32 of them, ready to go in Liverpool Bay.

0:00:460:00:52

This wind farm, called Berbo Bank Extension,

0:00:520:00:55

covers 40 square kilometres in the Irish Sea, 12 kilometres off

0:00:550:00:58

the coast of Liverpool.

0:00:580:01:01

Wind turbines are hardly new, you can see them in a lot

0:01:010:01:04

of places in the UK, inland and out at sea,

0:01:040:01:07

turning in the wind to make energy.

0:01:070:01:11

But this is the first place in the world where turbines this

0:01:110:01:14

big have been built.

0:01:140:01:15

Being so big makes these turbines really powerful.

0:01:150:01:19

Every time these blades make a full circle, they make enough electricity

0:01:190:01:25

to run a whole UK home for more than a day.

0:01:250:01:27

Altogether, the turbines at Berbo Bank Extension are expected

0:01:270:01:30

to be able to power more than 230,000 homes, more than enough

0:01:300:01:34

for the city of Liverpool.

0:01:340:01:37

And we might see more mega farms like these in the future.

0:01:370:01:43

Next, almost 2,000 different species of plants have been discovered

0:01:430:01:47

in the past year but many are already at risk of dying out.

0:01:470:01:51

The Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew in London released a survey looking

0:01:510:01:55

at the state of the world's plants and is calling for more to be

0:01:550:01:59

done to protect them.

0:01:590:02:00

They include plants that could be used for food and medicine.

0:02:000:02:02

OK, time for a quick look at today's top sport stories.

0:02:020:02:07

Huddersfield are just one more game away from Premier League football

0:02:070:02:10

after goalkeeper Danny Ward saved two penalties to send them

0:02:100:02:13

to the Championship playoff final.

0:02:130:02:17

They beat Sheffield Wednesday 4-3 in the shoot-out to reach Wembley

0:02:170:02:21

where they'll play Reading.

0:02:210:02:23

Sergio Romero made a series of brilliant saves as Southampton

0:02:230:02:26

and Manchester United played out a goalless draw at St Mary's.

0:02:260:02:29

Anthony Martial then went on to hit the post from 25 yards.

0:02:290:02:32

United are guaranteed a sixth-place finish.

0:02:320:02:36

But Jose Mourinho says his team can finally focus

0:02:360:02:38

on the Europa League final now.

0:02:380:02:40

We managed to play these three matches, Arsenal, Tottenham and

0:02:400:02:45

Southampton, all of them away, all of them difficult, all of them

0:02:450:02:51

with a brain in the final.

0:02:510:02:52

We managed to play professionally and

0:02:520:02:55

to play well and to give proper football matches to our opponents.

0:02:550:03:03

And in the women's game, Chelsea and Arsenal both scored

0:03:030:03:06

in stoppage time to draw 2-2 in the Super League

0:03:060:03:08

One Spring Series.

0:03:080:03:10

Elsewhere leaders Liverpool beat Sunderland to move six points clear.

0:03:100:03:16

Next, have you ever wondered what it takes to be a vlogger?

0:03:160:03:19

Well, a new school in Exeter in the south east of England

0:03:190:03:22

promises to teach kids the tricks of the trade.

0:03:220:03:24

Whitney went to check it out.

0:03:240:03:27

Putting myself in that selfie mode, of course, I'm very excited today.

0:03:270:03:31

I'm at the UK's first vlogging school and I'm going to learn a few

0:03:310:03:34

things from these guys.

0:03:340:03:36

From gaming to make-up, to virtual reality and more, these

0:03:360:03:39

vloggers love to try new things.

0:03:390:03:43

Meet these three students who are passionate about vlogging.

0:03:430:03:47

Everyone has a talent, and I guess people here,

0:03:470:03:50

vlogging and YouTubing is our special talent.

0:03:500:03:55

You can collab with other people also doing it.

0:03:550:03:58

There's studios and in the studios it's all quiet

0:03:580:04:00

and they have all the equipment.

0:04:000:04:01

I've learnt how to set up the lights, the cameras

0:04:010:04:07

and the audio, how to add animations over the top, how to add pictures.

0:04:070:04:10

But do you need a fancy school, high tech equipment

0:04:100:04:12

and professional studios?

0:04:120:04:14

Can't you just do it yourself?

0:04:140:04:17

If you really want to be a vlogger, you want to be a YouTuber,

0:04:170:04:20

you've just got to try.

0:04:200:04:21

Use the equipment you've got, start with your phone, be confident,

0:04:210:04:24

plan what you're going to do, and just work at it.

0:04:240:04:27

It's hard work but stick to it and keep trying.

0:04:270:04:29

So how do you become an amazing vlogger?

0:04:290:04:31

These three guys will give you their top tips.

0:04:310:04:36

For a video, we practice the video over and over again.

0:04:360:04:38

We do a few takes, we don't just do one because if you make

0:04:380:04:42

a mistake and you carry on it won't be as good.

0:04:420:04:45

I say some random things as a sound test.

0:04:450:04:47

I record five of each thing.

0:04:470:04:51

Then I go through them and pick the best two and disqualify the one

0:04:510:04:55

that's not the greatest.

0:04:550:04:56

Wow, what a day!

0:04:560:04:57

I think I've definitely learnt a lot from these vloggers.

0:04:570:04:59

I think I'm going to be sticking around to find out a bit more.

0:04:590:05:03

What do you think, Whitney?

0:05:030:05:06

Whitney?!

0:05:060:05:12

Life can be tough when you're small.

0:05:120:05:15

But luckily for these tiny ducklings, two new ramps have been

0:05:150:05:19

installed to help them get into a pond in Washington

0:05:190:05:22

DC in the US.

0:05:220:05:25

You might remember we told you the story of Jeremy the snail

0:05:250:05:28

who was looking for love.

0:05:280:05:32

He was finding it hard to find a mate because the spiral

0:05:320:05:35

on his shell coils to the left, rather than to the right,

0:05:350:05:38

like most other snails.

0:05:380:05:39

Well, against the odds, two leftie snails were found

0:05:390:05:41

as possible mates for Jeremy.

0:05:410:05:42

But it wasn't meant to be.

0:05:420:05:44

The other leftie snails mated with each other instead,

0:05:440:05:48

and had 170 babies.

0:05:480:05:50

You hang on in there, Jeremy!

0:05:500:05:54

That's all from me.

0:05:540:05:55

Newsround's back with Jenny at 4:20pm.
