But first, it's safe to say that Johanna Konta

was the stand out British player at Wimbledon this year.

The 23-year-old become the first British woman to reach

the Wimbledon singles semi-finals in almost 40 years.

Ricky caught up with the history maker herself.

COMMENTATOR: It's over.

British tennis history is made.

Wimbledon is more special because it's my home slam.

Not many athletes get to say they have a home slam so I feel very

fortunate with that.

It's been 39 years since a British woman can say,

"I'm a Wimbledon semifinalist."

I got to be a part of so many incredible matches,

I had some epic battles, I got to play on centre court

in Court One and to play in front of a crowd that was so supportive

and so excited for me.

Now somehow Johanna Konta has forced a final set.

For me, it's always been the competition, it is was been

the competitive environment and the emotions that come

with that, the triumphs, the losses as well, I think it's

more those emotions and those experiences that I've

always most enjoyed.

She read it.

It's a fun sport to be a part of whatever level and it's also

a really social sport, you can do it with your friends,

you can play with your family, so I think it does have a place

in Olympic terms.

Now to some high flying horses!

A new style of horse eventing is hoping to bring a little more

excitement to the sport.

We went along with a young super fan to see what it's all about.

Hi, I'm Izzie.

I love all things riding and I even enjoy lessons.

I've been riding since I was about five, but I am

here today to find out how the professionals do it.

This is the Event Rider Masters, a new type of eventing competition,

and I can't wait to see the riders in action.

Eventing is also known as horse trials.

The competition has three different stages - dressage,

cross country and showjumping.

One of the riders here today is Gemma Tatterson.

She is a very experienced competitor and she was part

of the British Olympic team at Rio.

What makes the Event Rider Masters different to other competitions?

Event Rider Masters is a shortened, more exciting version of eventing.

So it is actually the top 40 riders in the world come forward,

which makes it very, very competitive and the build-up

towards the end of the competition is really exciting for

spectators and riders.

Well done on your lovely showjumping round.

How are you feeling now you are in seventh, heading

into the cross-country?

Yeah, we are really excited.

Primero is a new ride for me and it is only

the second time at this level.

So to jump a really good clear round, to be in the top ten,

is really exciting.

I'm going to be giving the cross-country my best shot.

The overall winner is the rider with the fewest penalties

after the three stages.

Congratulations on winning.

How do you feel to win such a big event?

Thank you very much, Izzie.

It's really special.

It's a really special feeling because it doesn't happen very often

and I just get the impression I have succeeded in achieving one

of my dreams, so I am over the moon.

The idea behind the Event Rider Masters is to make traditional

eventing faster and more exciting.

I have had a great day and I hope to be competing

in it myself one day.

And finally, check out this Asian elephant calf.

She was born just last week and made her first public

appearance at a zoo in Texas in the United States.

She's being looked after by her mum.

Zookeepers have named her Joy.

Too cute!
