Behind the scenes of Dr Who's 5th anniversary show. The robot that

herds cattle. This is Newsround. -- 5th anniversary show.

First to Mars. We know it as the Red Planet. Scientists think it could

once have been more like earth. In the next couple of hours NASA will

launch Maven, with I will try and find out what the planet used to be

like and why everything changed. This is what scientists thing Mars

could have looked like during the first one billion years of its

existence. There are clouds, lakes filled with water and it is believed

the planet had a thick protective atmospheric layer. In fact, it all

looks a bit like earth. Something happened which changed the planet

into the dusty, red one we recognise today. Water was abundant. On early

Mars the environment was something capable of supporting water. Today,

we see a cold, dry planet which is not able to support water. We want

to understand the reason for the change in the climate. So the early

atmosphere is thought to be like earth - with a layer of gases

helping to keep the temperature at the right level for life. We are

protected from radiation, which could damage us. Should we be

worried that what happened on Mars could happen here on earth? Mars is

much smaller than earth. Earth is big. We have a hot interior which

produces a magnet tick shield. I think the fact we are on such a big

planet and have a magnetic shield protecting the atmosphere, I think

we'll be fine. We will not lose our atmosphere any time soon like Mars

did four billion years ago. The probe, called Maven l take ten

months to get oh -- Maven will take ten months to get to Mars. It is

hoped it will solve the mystery of the Red Planet. Next, aid from the

UK has started to radio even the Philippines after the -- started to

reach the Philippines after the devastation of Typhoon Haiyan. A

plane left the East Midlands airport last night. HMS Daring arrived this

weekend, carrying a helicopter to help reach remote areas. Here are

some of the pictures it has taken. It is thought around 2.5 million

fun to act in. There is a different Tardis, another

doctor and all that. It was completely different. Yet weirdly

familiar. Lovely to be back! The full details of the plot are

still under wraps. Expectations are high.

It promises to be an episode which celebrates the show's past as well
