Hi, I'm Jenny and this is Friday afternoon's Newsround, | :00:08. | :00:09.
Tonight, I'm going to be interviewing Prince Harry! | :00:10. | :00:16.
Oops - the girl reliving her royal mistake! | :00:17. | :00:18.
Liam Payne releases his first solo single. | :00:19. | :00:20.
And the cheeky ferret who fancied a spa day. | :00:21. | :00:33.
In the UK, thousands of airplanes take off and land each day, | :00:34. | :00:37.
and they need to be really carefully coordinated to make | :00:38. | :00:39.
Now City Airport, in London, is about to make a big change to how | :00:40. | :00:45.
London's City Airport. Until now flights going in and out had been | :00:46. | :01:00.
monitored in this control tower by a group of controllers. They look out | :01:01. | :01:03.
of these windows right onto the runway. But not for much longer! | :01:04. | :01:09.
They are about to move home... 120 miles away from the airport, to be | :01:10. | :01:15.
exact. Because the control room is going digital! | :01:16. | :01:17.
The windows are going to be replaced by high-definition screens and the | :01:18. | :01:21.
controllers will be able to see and hear the airport. This is a practice | :01:22. | :01:29.
control room but by 2019, controllers will be sitting here and | :01:30. | :01:31.
directing traffic for real, using pictures fed from a new camera tower | :01:32. | :01:35.
next to the runway. Unlike the old tower they can zoom in for a better | :01:36. | :01:38.
view. They can light the runway at night | :01:39. | :01:43.
and pick out rogue drones will stop it gives the airport more | :01:44. | :01:47.
information in terms of what they can see and hear, and identified | :01:48. | :01:51.
targets. The controller's job is to look out the window. | :01:52. | :01:54.
It makes that job much easier. But, I know what you are thinking, what | :01:55. | :02:00.
if the TV screens go down? This system has been independently stress | :02:01. | :02:06.
tested by security specialists, there are three cables in place | :02:07. | :02:10.
between the airport and the control centre in Swanwick. | :02:11. | :02:13.
If one of them fails, there's another cable there. London city is | :02:14. | :02:18.
convinced it will make their airport more efficient and safe. And it | :02:19. | :02:23.
might not be long before the idea of digital control rooms takes off at | :02:24. | :02:25.
other airports as well. This week Prince William | :02:26. | :02:28.
visited The Royal Marsden, a special cancer treatment hospital | :02:29. | :02:30.
and met someone he hadn't seen Lovely to see you... Alice has met | :02:31. | :02:48.
the Prince before, in 2009 she interviewed him for news round. She | :02:49. | :02:52.
had treatment for cancer at the Royal Marsden Hospital, a hospital | :02:53. | :02:57.
Prince William supports. But like every good journalist, | :02:58. | :03:01.
things didn't quite go to plan... Tonight I will be interviewing | :03:02. | :03:06.
Prince Harry... Brilliant! Brilliant, Alice. That is a keeper! | :03:07. | :03:13.
I will never live it down! It is just a moment that I will never | :03:14. | :03:18.
forget. Don't worry, Alice. He was still very impressed by you. Lovely | :03:19. | :03:23.
interview, by the way! Me and my sister always have play around and | :03:24. | :03:30.
wrestles. If you and Prince Harry had one, who would win? It's not | :03:31. | :03:35.
worth even worth asking! I'm all over it, Ricky, you are out of a | :03:36. | :03:46.
job! Now this is one for | :03:47. | :03:49.
the directioners, 1D's Liam Payne has finally released his first | :03:50. | :03:52.
single as a solo artist. # You know I love it when the music | :03:53. | :03:59.
stops # Strip that down for me # | :04:00. | :04:03.
It's called 'Strip That Down' and was written by Ed Sheeran. | :04:04. | :04:05.
Liam is the last member of the group, who are on a break | :04:06. | :04:08.
at the moment, to release a single, and he checked into BBC Radio 1's | :04:09. | :04:12.
He was discovered on X Factor and said he wouldn't rule out | :04:13. | :04:16.
being a judge on the show, like partner Cheryl. | :04:17. | :04:18.
Yeah, I think I would give it a go. I don't know if I would be too harsh | :04:19. | :04:24.
as a judge. I am a harsh critic. But I think we need that. I think it is | :04:25. | :04:28.
necessary sometimes. I'm one of those people who moans at the telly. | :04:29. | :04:33.
Finally to this cheeky little guy who fancied a day at the spa... | :04:34. | :04:38.
Staff from the Lido spa in Bristol, got a bit of a fright, when a ferret | :04:39. | :04:42.
snuck in through their front door and pottered around. | :04:43. | :04:44.
The ferret was caught safely and is being looked after. | :04:45. | :04:47.
Maybe he was looking for a free massage? | :04:48. | :04:49.
There's just time to have your say online about the Football | :04:50. | :04:51.
We want to know which rule you'd change and why, so get in touch. | :04:52. | :04:56.
That's all from the afternoon team, but Newsround's | :04:57. | :04:58.
Hi, guys, we've important news for you today. So important. | :04:59. | :05:04.
