Today, new research claims the numbers

being hunted for their tusks, has reached a dangerous level, with

more elephants now being killed each year, than are being born.

They're the biggest land animals on earth and their herds have long

been seen journeying across the plains of Africa.

But these magnificent animals are under threat.

Since 2010 around 35,000 elephants have been killed by poachers
