First, we're talking about the stories being shared

:00:00.:00:17.

on websites and social media, which are not fact, but fiction.

:00:18.:00:19.

It's a huge problem and Ricky's been looking into it.

:00:20.:00:22.

Or talked about it with your friends?

:00:23.:00:30.

Maybe it has shocked, wowed you, or made you laugh.

:00:31.:00:37.

But before you shared it, did you stop to think - is this real?

:00:38.:00:40.

Thousands of pictures, videos and articles

:00:41.:00:43.

This was one of the most shared posts during

:00:44.:00:51.

But guess what, Donald Trump never said it.

:00:52.:00:57.

Fake news, made up to get as many shares as possible.

:00:58.:01:06.

I've come to the social news and entertainment website

:01:07.:01:09.

There are people who purposely create fake stories and make things

:01:10.:01:17.

up in order to trick you into going onto their website

:01:18.:01:21.

and just clicking and sharing in order to make them

:01:22.:01:25.

So people make thousands of pounds through people like you and me

:01:26.:01:31.

Give us an example when fake news gets out of hand.

:01:32.:01:39.

One of our studies showed that during the US presidential election

:01:40.:01:42.

recently, more people were sharing fake news stories than real ones.

:01:43.:01:47.

And this was affecting the way people were voting.

:01:48.:01:51.

So that has a huge impact on the way we make decisions.

:01:52.:02:00.

How do we know what is real before we read or repost?

:02:01.:02:03.

What you can do is just double check the domain name.

:02:04.:02:06.

Sometimes people will create a domain name that looks similar

:02:07.:02:08.

If a story seems too good to be true, what you can do is check other

:02:09.:02:14.

If they are covering the story, it is probably true.

:02:15.:02:17.

If you cannot find the story anywhere else,

:02:18.:02:19.

The next time you see a yellow panda, think before you click

:02:20.:02:29.

Now fans of the Saturday night show Let It Shine will be

:02:30.:02:36.

As I've got some shining guests at Newsround HQ.

:02:37.:02:43.

hello, I am Jonnie, I am Yazdan. I am Bradley.

:02:44.:02:54.

It's the final this week, in the search for a boy band

:02:55.:02:57.

Before we chat shall we have a quick look at you guys in action.

:02:58.:03:02.

Amazing. Welcome. Have you seen yourselves on TV before? We have

:03:03.:03:32.

just watched it back. Is it scary? It is weird. But it is good to pick

:03:33.:03:39.

up on things you do well and things you can improve. It is the final

:03:40.:03:45.

this weekend. How are you feeling? Excited, nervous, but ready to take

:03:46.:03:51.

on the challenge. I am excited that sad it is coming to an end. I have

:03:52.:03:57.

had such an amazing time. Sad it is coming to an end. Bradley, are you

:03:58.:04:01.

looking forward to it? More excitement than anything else.

:04:02.:04:06.

Getting on the stage with the crowd, can't wait with it. Tell me about

:04:07.:04:12.

the atmosphere and about the crowd, because they were screaming for you

:04:13.:04:17.

and for Gary Barlow. They also supported. To be in the atmosphere

:04:18.:04:21.

where everybody wants you to do well, no matter what happens in

:04:22.:04:26.

terms of public vote, which is out of our hands, so to have a

:04:27.:04:29.

supportive audience, you rise to the occasion. In the headphones,

:04:30.:04:36.

sometimes the crowd are screaming so loudly we cannot hear the track.

:04:37.:04:42.

When you hear the audience, your adrenaline goes through the roof and

:04:43.:04:46.

it adds to the performance. Best of luck. Well done on getting this far.

:04:47.:04:52.

We will be watching this Saturday night. Goodbye to you at home.

:04:53.:04:56.

Goodbye! Make your own bottle rocket.
