Millions of people around the world are getting excited | 0:01:30 | 0:01:32
about Monday's solar eclipse. | 0:01:32 | 0:01:34
Parts of America will see a total eclipse - | 0:01:34 | 0:01:36
that's where the Sun is completely blocked by the moon. | 0:01:36 | 0:01:38
A group of UK scouts is travelling to get the best view | 0:01:38 | 0:01:41
possible and we've been following their adventures. | 0:01:41 | 0:01:43
Meet the Salisbury Scouts. | 0:01:43 | 0:01:44
They are on an epic camping trip. | 0:01:44 | 0:01:45
They're making a mammoth journey from the UK, all the way | 0:01:45 | 0:01:48
to the Yellowstone National Park in the USA, where they will be able | 0:01:48 | 0:01:51
to witness the Solar Eclipse. | 0:01:51 | 0:01:52
Yellowstone's famous for its wildlife and for its geysers. | 0:01:52 | 0:01:54
Hot springs of water and steam gush out at incredible speeds. | 0:01:54 | 0:01:57
In fact, Yellowstone is home to more geysers | 0:01:57 | 0:01:59
than anywhere else in the world. | 0:01:59 | 0:02:07
Today we are in America at Yellowstone. | 0:02:07 | 0:02:09
Looking at all the geysers and hot springs. | 0:02:09 | 0:02:11
Later on today, we are going to go to Jackson. | 0:02:11 | 0:02:13
And on Monday we are going to see the eclipse. | 0:02:13 | 0:02:16
I'm really excited for it. | 0:02:16 | 0:02:17
So is everyone else. | 0:02:17 | 0:02:18
It's coming up really quickly and I'm really excited about it. | 0:02:18 | 0:02:21
It's not long now! | 0:02:21 | 0:02:24
Now, the summer holiday is ending, and some of you are already | 0:02:24 | 0:02:27
heading back to school. | 0:02:27 | 0:02:29
For some people, that means starting High School for the first time. | 0:02:29 | 0:02:35
It can be a little nerve-wracking, but don't worry - these guys sent us | 0:02:35 | 0:02:38
some top tips to help you out. | 0:02:38 | 0:02:47
When it is like a Friday, don't act excited because the teachers | 0:02:47 | 0:02:49
will most likely keep you later so you'll | 0:02:49 | 0:02:51
miss your bus or you'll have to stay at school later. | 0:02:51 | 0:02:54
If you are feeling nervous, you should go and talk to someone | 0:02:54 | 0:02:57
because that's what I did in the first couple of weeks | 0:02:57 | 0:03:00
and it made me feel a lot more confident about school. | 0:03:00 | 0:03:02
Don't feel stressed. | 0:03:02 | 0:03:03
It's a big school, it's going to be bigger than primary school, | 0:03:03 | 0:03:06
and it takes a while to get used to it. | 0:03:06 | 0:03:09
But after a while you will get used to it. | 0:03:09 | 0:03:18
Be loud and confident with your answer, instead | 0:03:19 | 0:03:21
of just being like, "Oh, is it this?" | 0:03:21 | 0:03:23
Behave, do your homework, do what the teacher asks. | 0:03:23 | 0:03:25
Try and make as many new friends who don't go | 0:03:25 | 0:03:27
to your primary as you can. | 0:03:27 | 0:03:29
On the first day, don't be by yourself. | 0:03:29 | 0:03:31
Go and find new people, make new friends. | 0:03:31 | 0:03:33
First impressions for teachers are really important | 0:03:33 | 0:03:35
because teachers all base how your behaviour is | 0:03:35 | 0:03:37
off that first impression. | 0:03:37 | 0:03:38
And you don't have a first impression twice, | 0:03:38 | 0:03:40
so you should behave really well. | 0:03:40 | 0:03:45
Whether you love bats or not, most of us probably wouldn't | 0:03:45 | 0:03:48
want to live with a load of them. | 0:03:48 | 0:03:50
But some churches are letting these little guys make themselves at home. | 0:03:50 | 0:03:53
Here's Ayshah. | 0:03:53 | 0:03:57
It might be a bit cold and draughty, but for bats, it is one | 0:03:57 | 0:04:00
of their favourite places to make a home. | 0:04:00 | 0:04:02
And these kids have come to the skirt in Norfolk to find out | 0:04:02 | 0:04:05
all about the bats that live here. | 0:04:05 | 0:04:08
I've been around and seen two of these, like, tiny bats. | 0:04:08 | 0:04:11
That were flappering about. | 0:04:11 | 0:04:12
And going like... | 0:04:12 | 0:04:22
I saw two of the small bats. | 0:04:22 | 0:04:24
I saw a flaper bat. | 0:04:24 | 0:04:25
I like bats because they can hang upside down. | 0:04:25 | 0:04:27
I like bats because they fly around. | 0:04:27 | 0:04:34
But they're not always the easiest animals to live with. | 0:04:34 | 0:04:36
And the people that own churches are worried | 0:04:36 | 0:04:38
that the bats are damaging these very old buildings. | 0:04:38 | 0:04:40
With the bat wee leaving little white spots | 0:04:40 | 0:04:42
like this on gravestones. | 0:04:42 | 0:04:44
So they might not be the most welcome guests, | 0:04:44 | 0:04:46
but it's actually really important to protect these bats. | 0:04:46 | 0:04:49
Bat populations over a number of years have been declining. | 0:04:49 | 0:04:51
Hopefully we have stopped that. | 0:04:51 | 0:04:55
But churches are one of the most important buildings | 0:04:55 | 0:04:57
in the countryside that bats can use. | 0:04:57 | 0:05:04
Luckily for the bats, this church is happy to let them | 0:05:04 | 0:05:06
stay in the church roof now. | 0:05:06 | 0:05:08
But they are building special bat boxes outside the church for them | 0:05:08 | 0:05:11
to live in in the future, so they don't make | 0:05:11 | 0:05:13
any more mess inside. | 0:05:13 | 0:05:22
And a special project called Bats in Churches | 0:05:22 | 0:05:25
is asking other places of worship to do the same. | 0:05:25 | 0:05:27
Now, check this out for a mega water slide. | 0:05:27 | 0:05:29
Thousands of people in Seoul, South Korea, took to the streets | 0:05:29 | 0:05:32
to try out this 300 metre long water slide. | 0:05:32 | 0:05:34
How fun does that look! | 0:05:34 | 0:05:35
The fun street event is to advertise Winter Olympic Games | 0:05:35 | 0:05:37
in the country next year. | 0:05:37 | 0:05:42
And finally we want your questions to put to the people | 0:05:42 | 0:05:45
who make Minecraft. | 0:05:45 | 0:05:46
Yes, you heard it right. | 0:05:46 | 0:05:47
Your chance to ask whatever you want to the people behind one | 0:05:47 | 0:05:50
of the most popular computer games in the world. | 0:05:50 | 0:05:52
So head over to the website now. | 0:05:52 | 0:05:54
That's all from me. | 0:05:54 | 0:05:57
Newsround is back at 07:40am tomorrow with loads of stuff looking | 0:05:57 | 0:05:59
ahead to the eclipse. | 0:05:59 | 0:06:01 |
