Hello, Martin here with a packed Newsround for you this

First, one of the most spectacular space sights visible from the Earth,

happened in America last night, as millions of people enjoyed

an incredible total solar eclipse.

Here's Jenny wiith a wee look back at what happened.

This is the moment the US was plunged into

darkness in the daytime.

Millions of people watched across the country, using special

glasses to protect their eyes.

A huge shadow, cast by the moon as it passed

in front of the sun, swept across the US

from coast-to-coast.

It's the first time in 99 years an eclipse like this has happened,

and the whole event took around an hour and a half.

BBC reporter Nada Tawfik was in Kentucky, and sent Newsround this.

The moment has come and gone and it was truly

as spectacular as described.

When the moon started to creep up and block the sun, that alone

was an amazing experience.

Seeing the sun in the form of a crescent, which normally

we only see the moon as.

The real moment came up quickly, once the moon completely

blocked the sun's surface, the whole environment here changed.

It became instantly darker, the temperature dropped drastically,

and everyone gathered together just in absolute awe.

But the true, amazing part of this, and what made the total solar

eclipse so different from witnessing a partial eclipse, was seeing

how bright the corona - that's the ring of light -

how brightly that shined.

I think that's what everybody was so in awe of for those two

minutes and 40 seconds, experiencing something that most

here had never seen before.

Yesterday we told you about a group of Scouts who'd travelled

all the way to Yellowstone Park in the US to get the best

view of the eclipse.

They made special pin hole cameras so they could watch it safely

and all had their special glasses to wear.

So how did they get on?

I'm Samuel, and we've just seen the eclipse,

and it was absolutely incredible.

I mean, the speed at which the temperature

dropped and the light, it was just amazing, the ring

of light around the eclipse.

I was mesmerised.

Wayne Rooney scored his 200th Premier League goal last night.

Lets take a wee look at it.

It was a pretty important goal because it got his side Everton

a point against Manchester City after the game ended 1-1.

The 31-year-old Striker became only the second player to reach the 200

goals after Alan Shearer, who is the top scorer

with 260 goals.

And an interesting fact for you guys.

Wayne Rooneys 50th, 100th and 200th goal where all scored

against Manchester City.

Congratulations Wayne on reaching 200 Premier League goals,

a great achievement.

Where have you been, man?

The 200 Club has been a lonely place over the last few years.

Well done, I'm sure you've got a few more in you.

Next - Great British Bake Off is back!

But look a bit closer, and you'll see that things

are a little bit different this time round.

That's because the Bake Off has moved from the BBC over to Channel 4

and has a few new faces.

As well as 12 new contestants, comedians Noel Fielding

and Sandi Toksvig will be taking over hosting duties

from Mel and Sue.

And chef Prue Leith will take Mary Berry's place

next to Paul Hollywood as the other judge.

Bake Off will be back on our screens from next week.

with things like space hoppers, Action Man and stickle

bricks on them.
