satellite that could reach Earth in the next 24 hours.

But first - barbaric and disturbing - that's how some doctors and

politicians have been describing it. Two kids in Preston have been

filmed taking part in a fight inside a cage, watched by a live

audience of hundreds of grown-ups. The organisers say there's nothing

wrong with it, and what they were doing wasn't cage fighting, but

mixed martial arts. This story has kicked up quite a fuss.

Being led out like a champion fighter as crowds cheer him on,

this is nine-year-old Kian. But this video of him wrestling an

eight-year-old boy has stirred up an angry reaction from some

children's charities, doctors and politicians. Those in charge of the

event, though, say that the boys weren't in any danger.

They say no kicking or punching was allowed and Kian's parents are

completely happy with him taking part. If he wasn't in this

environment what would he be doing? Stood on a street corner causing

havoc or doing something else. He has choose to do the sport. Have

you choose to do it? Yeah. There's been no action taken by police

because they say no one had broken the law. But there are still

worries over whether it's right to put kids in this environment.

feels very barbaric and I know there are concerns about children

that young doing a sport like that. Kids charity the NSPCC warned

parents against letting their kids do something like this. According

to the British Medical Association which represents doctors, the

scenes are disturbing and the kids should have been wearing head

guards. They say there are other safer sports that can teach

children discipline and help them keep fit.

Not everyone agrees. I thought it was good what they

were doing. There was no striking involved, so I didn't really feel

they needed to wear protective equipment. It's no different from

judo and so yeah, this is very child-friendly. It teaches them

balance. It gets them in to a discipline.

Kian plans to fight again and the organisers have said there are more

events planned. Last-minute appeals to save a man

in America who'd been sentenced to death for murder failed last night.

Yesterday we told you about Troy Davis. More than 20 years ago he

was found guilty of killing a police officer. He was put to death

after a final appeal from his lawyers failed. More than a million

people around the world had campaigned to stop that happening

and Troy Davis himself had always claimed he was innocent of murder.

We know the death penalty is a subject that really divides people.

Horrible Histories author Terry Deary has written a new story, not

for books but for your mobile phone. It's called the Perfect Poison

Pills Plot - 16 chapters, all the same length as a text message. He's

got Chipmunk on board to help promote it. The rapper reckons kids

are more likely to read on their gadgets than turning the pages of a

book. Now to the spacecraft on a

collision course with Earth! Scientists are warning that the

satellite is going to crash back down on our planet tomorrow. But

before you run for your satellite- proof bunker just know that the

chances of anyone actually being hit are pretty slim.

This may not look like much but it's actually a satellite hurtling

out of control towards earth captured on film by an amateur

astronomer. The six-ton space craft is due to crash land tomorrow

evening. It was launched in 1991 by the

Discovery space shuttle and has been out of action for the last six

years. Now gravity is dragging it back to earth.

NASA scientists are trying to track its route but because it's

travelling at 5 miles a second it's moving so fast that they can't

guarantee where it will land until a couple of hours before it gets

here. Right now that could be almost anywhere on earth.

It encompasses the entire world. Although most of the satellite will

burn up in the atmosphere, 26 parts could survive and that's creating

some dramatic headlines. NASA says a massive satellite is headed for

earth in a crash landing. The good news is that NASA says no

one has ever been hurt by objects re-entering from space and the

chances of anyone being hit are about one in 3,000. So pretty

unlikey. If you find any of it after it's landed NASA says not to

touch it. It could be sharp, it could be

still hot from re-entry perhaps and you could injure yourself. It's

also remember the property of the US Government so you are not

allowed to take it and sell it on ebay. Scientists will be watching

the incoming satellite and probably secretly hoping it plunges quietly

into the sea. Still 94 days until Christmas and

the Time Lord himself has already started counting down. Today we've

heard which famous faces will be appearing in the Doctor Who

Christmas special. They include Outnumbered mum Claire Skinner and

comedians Bill Bailey, Arabella Weir and Alexander Armstrong.

We're heading to the other side of the world now for the story of an

amazing Amazon rescue. When this couple got stuck in the rainforest

in South America, miles from the nearest city they did what anyone

would do - call home. But in this case home was 5,000 miles away in

Eastbourne on Britain's south coast. This is where Bruce and Lesley's

motorhome ended up when they tried to cross a wobbly bridge in a

remote spot of the Amazon rainforest. They had been

travelling around south America for almost five years, but at this

point of the journey they hadn't seen anyone for days and the chance

of being found at the bottom of the ravine was slim. It looked like a

really good bridge and it just collapsed and the vehicle went down.

That's about it, we couldn't continue our journey and the nice

marines came and rescued us. Stuck 200 miles away from the nearest

city, they knew their only chance of rescue rested on their satellite

phone. They called relatives 5,000 miles away at home in Eastbourne

and told them their exact location. Their family contacted Dover

coastguards who alerted Falmouth coastguards in Cornwall before they

passed on the message to the Brazilian Navy. Soon a helicopter

was sent to the rescue. The couple weren't hurt and say they're glad

to be safe. As for the motormoment, that might

need a helping hand. Let's finish with a happy ending
